The Magickers Chronicles, Vol. 2 Reviews
Sadly, wasn't impressed. It screamed Harry Potter rip off to me. I found myself saying at the beginning of a scene, "I'll bet XYZ happens, but it's going to be not quite XYZ to prove that it's different than Potter." Sure enough, it would happen. There's nothing wrong with the Harry Potter philisophy of books, but this is written so blatantly "I'm ripping off Harry Potter, but I'll throw this in here just so it's [supposedly] not obvious" that it just annoyed me.
It's got dragons and magic - good and evil - kids trying to learn how to use their magic before evil gets them - even though I seemed to enjoy it when I would read it - I have been reading this on and off over the past couple months and never felt deprived when I would go a long time between reading further - it didn't create a passion to read more or to read it quicker
