The Patriot, Hezekiah Whitt Reviews
If you like books that take you to places from the past, and has you watching and and waiting for what will come next, this book may be right up your alley. The Patriot, Hezekiah Whitt, is a book that takes place at a time in America where we are just getting started as a nation. There are still attacks going on by the British, and there are still Indian tribes that the settlers have to contend with, whether for the good or the bad, depending upon the circumstances. You'll see the life of a remarkable man, Hezekiah Whitt, and his family, which includes his wife who was the daughter of the famous Chief Cornstalk. You'll experience the expansion of the colony territories and the struggles of life during that time period, as well as the joys of what it slowly brings about to our present day country. And all along the way you'll be given some vital historical facts that put the whole picture into perspective. This book is about a man and his family, a family that could be our own, each of us, and I have the privilege of it factually being an ancestor of mine as he was my GGGG-Grandpa. The legacy that each of us has before us, and the one that we choose to leave for others, can be as inspiring as this man's life, simple though it may have been. This is just one book in Colonel Charles Dahnmon Whitt's line of books about Building of America. The next one in this series is "Legacy, The Days of David Crockett Whitt" and I encourage you to read them both, as well as his other fine books!
Both books are very enjoyable reading as they are full of local history and personalities of the Whitt family as well as Hankins families and othere in the Tazewell County Virginia area. I would encourage reading of these.
I love it, I wrote it!
I can't wait to read this - Hezekiah Whitt is my 4x Great Grandfather! :) So excited!
