Everybody's Wounded Reviews
This is a 5 star read. It's written beautifully, the characters are hurt individuals with huge hearts and the main character, Scott, is an incorrigible romantic. Except one small part, the story is written in his POV and I found that I preferred it that way. He was the most stable one of the lot and despite his conflicts he basically knew what he wanted. There is a second story in the making and I'm sure it will resolve some of the issues that were left unfinished here and will be just as good.My problem is the ending. It didn't go the way I wanted and it bordered me a lot. That is the reason why I rated it with a 4 rather than a 5 which the story certainly deserved.
Well, this is beautifully written, with lot of emotion and feelings and the little sex there is is really poetic. There is always someone that one may have loved if circumstances had been different. This story tells that very well. Luc and Josh are in love with Scott, and Scott has feelings for both, but who does/will Scott LOVE? No matter what is said in the book, the reader will see that Scott loves Luc. However, the relationship is impossible because deeply troubled Luc has been deeply wounded and is not ready to be happy, to live and love, in spite of his love for Scott. While Luc is hesitating, comes Josh, a good friend, trustworthy, strong, dependable, and obviously deeply in love with Scott. The simple attraction Josh felt towards Josh turns into something deeper, because there is a possibility of happiness there. I loved the book, but I did not give it five stars because I felt like the explanation given for Luc and Scott feelings at the end of the book does not ring true. The 3/4th of the book are about the strong feelings Scott has for Luc. But strangely, in the last 1/4, it is said that Scott mistook compassion, and the need to protect troubled Luc, with love. Come on! The chemistry between the Luc and Scott was explosive. How are we supposed to believe that it never existed?
This was powerful and emotional and absolutely, beautifully written. I am definitely going to read book two, "How the Light Gets In". I really want to know what happens. I just have to have something light and fluffy first, or my heart may crack in two. Re-read 8/15/16Just as emotional as the first time. Still 5 Stars
I really enjoyed reading this book, as well as How The Light Gets In . I enjoyed it so much I emailed the author and told him so.
