Es entretenido aunque un poco mas flojo que el anterior, aqui logramos enterarnos de quien es Aladdin y cual es su destino. El final es muy intrigante, tanto que quiero irme a comprar el siguiente volumen ya.

This is the third book in the Magi: Labyrinth of Magic series. I have really enjoyed this light-hearted fantasy series. Aladdin ends up being rescued from the desert by the Kouga clan, a clan of horsemen. When the Kou Empire’s Princess Hakuei Ren shows up to ask the Kouga to submit to the Kou Empire things go awry. The Princess wants peace for everyone and no bloodshed, but her Commander, Ryosa, has other plans and sets out to sabotage her peaceful attempts at annexation. Aladdin ends up saving the day once again and learns much from the Kouga Shaman about what it means to be Magi. Then Aladdin sets off on other adventures. Aside from Aladdin this volume has us dealing with a completely new set of characters. I missed Ali Baba and hope he shows up again in future books of this series. The very last chapter deals with the slave girl Morgiana, she is off having adventures of her own and this chapter ends at a bit of a cliffhanger. It was great to see her again, I really enjoy her character and can’t wait to see what she does in the next volume. We get to meet another Djinn named, Paimon. This again references mythology of The Lesser Key of Solomon. Before this series I wasn’t all that familiar with the Lesser Key of Solomon, it is apparently a grimoire that deals with demonology and it was put together some time in the seventeenth century. I have really been enjoying the upbeat tone of this manga and how Aladdin is learning more about his past and helping people as he goes. He finds out that he is supposed to choose the true King, and is trying to fully understand what that means. We also finally get to meet another Magi, Judar, and I look forward to reading more about him in future installments. The illustration is well done and easy to follow. This installment does end on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I am dying to see what happens next!I definitely agree with the teen rating on this one. There is slavery and people are injured and killed. There is implied threat of rape as well. Additionally Paimon is a very voluptuous female Djinn that doesn’t wear any clothes to speak of.Overall this has been an excellent fantasy manga. I have enjoyed the humor and fun throughout the story, the great illustration, and the interesting mythology based story. Aladdin is a great character and we meet some other new characters that I enjoyed as well. I would definitely recommend this series to fans of fantasy manga, so far it’s been really well done!

Synopsis:A fantasy adventure inspired by One Thousand and One Nights!Deep within the desert lie the mysterious Dungeons, vast stores of riches there for the taking by anyone lucky enough to find them and brave enough to venture into the depths from where few have ever returned. Plucky young adventurer Aladdin means to find the Dungeons and their riches, but Aladdin is just as mysterious as the treasures he seeks. Together with his friend, Ali Baba and the genie, Ugo, Aladdin sets out to find his fortune in the depths of the endless dunes…Aladdin finds himself among the Kouga tribe, who live deep in the desert far from Qishan. An emissary from the Kou Empire arrives offering peace, but when it turns out to be an offer they can't refuse, things take a turn for the worse. Aladdin learns more about the legend of the Magi and the Rukh, bird-like beings of light, with whom he appears to share a deep connection...My Thoughts:We learn even more about Aladdin in this volume. I get more excited with each new thing we learn. It seems that the Kou Empire is subjugating countries as fast as they can and sending their people to capture Dungeons and use their Magoi in battle. Aladdin doesn't seem to know about this part, but he has learned that there are other Magi out there that are also choosing kings. We also learn about the Rukh (the little flying birds made of light) that help Aladdin sometimes when he's fighting. He meets some interesting people this time and then sets out on a journey to reunite with Alibaba. I can't say too much because there are things that you should find out by actually reading the volume. We also learn that Morgiana has left Qishan and is on her way to Balbadd so that she can take a ship back to her homeland. She's been traveling in a caravan with Laylah and Sahsa. I hope she can make it home some day.

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE NOT READ PREVIOUS VOLUMES, SPOILERS MAY BE GIVEN REGARDING PAST VOLUMES!So in this volume we finally get to see what happened to Aladdin after the Dungeon. He finds himself in the desert lands where the Kouga clan lives. There he makes all new friends. He also gets more insight into what a Magi is. When members of the Kou Empire show up, things do not go well. But we do get to meet another Djinn and Magi. Aladdin has a very important task in life but the Djinn are not very forthcoming as to how the task works. Looks like Aladdin has more to learn... We also get to flash over to Morgiana. Now that she is free she is traveling toward her homeland. At first I though she was a dry character but as I get to know her better, I find myself really admiring her.Every time I get a feel for what is going on in this series, some new aspect comes along, giving me more to figure out. While the story line seems simple enough, it thickens the further in you get. There seem to be many layers of storytelling going on, leaving me quite intrigued to see where this goes.*Please Note: This is not the Disney's Aladdin! The story is more mature and very much geared to Teens or older for the audience! Plus the story has quite the twist from any Aladdin or Arabian Nights stories we have known. **I received a eCopy of this volume from Viz Media, via Edelweiss. Special thanks to them for this opportunity. All opinions expressed are strictly me own.**

This book is rated T for Teens so if Sesame Street is your favorite show you should not be reading this book or you need to vary your TV viewing if you are over 13. :)Further revelations come to light as Aladdin learns more about his destiny and the mysterious Ruhk which help him when he uses his stomach power(yes that's how he explains his power.)By the end of this book the Genie count is at 3 so far and each one is fascinating in their own ways. I really look forward to future encounters. After the conclusion of volume 2 of the series Aladdin finds himself isolated from his recent friend Alibaba in a place that would take him f years to return on foot. Luckily a Caravan would come through eventually that would make his trip much faster so he waited until such point as they would come through. Read this book to see the people Aladdin meets and get a glimpse of past allies as the story moves quite well from one place to another. My favorite part of the book would have to be as the main baddie gets what he deserves. The man was a true villain who thankfully did not get his way(Hope that is not to spoiler for you folks.) :)

3.5We lay back for a little bit as Aladdin continues to search for his friend and we run into the Kouga tribe-a band of horseback warriors that are famous for their first leader who desired to conquer the world by banding everyone together, which ultimately failed in the end. They have their own troubles, but will Aladdin be the one to save them, or someone else?We learn more about our ADORABLE protagonist, and what a Magi is, but not enough that we can go "Oh, okay I got it." Ohtaka gives us tiny hints, and even the Djinns aren't allowed to tell Aladdin! Turns out that Aladdin is not the only Magi. Remeber that mysterious guy in volume 2 after they conqured the dungeon, this one?Yeah, this sexy beast;) well, he is actually a Magi too! Or at least that's what it sounds like now. Will he be a villain or the major antagonist? I doubt the latter because I have a feeling that the mangaka doesn't want a cliche, predictable story. I have no idea where this is even going! And I like this a lot:)

I loved this volume as it has a nice change of pace and place so soon into the series that I'm excited now Aladdin is on his way back home by the end. First, it does bug me that Magi is not keeping "Character/Story So Far" opening pages. I treasure those introductions as they quickly remind me exactly where we last left off and who is who! So just a bit of confusion for me as I adjust to where and how Aladdin is where he is. This new Mongolian-type world was interesting and a war was on the verge of being fought. Aladdin learns ever so much about himself, the Djinns, the Magi and the Rukh. We go back into Aladdin's past and learn more about him from that and we are given a glimpse of another Magi and what he does. But rather than go meet this other Magi Aladdin decides to go back home to find Alibaba because he thinks he knows what is expected of him. However, the last chapters switch back to the slave girl met in book 1 and the dire situation she finds herself in now. Lots of action, battle, plot, characterization and intrigue to keep you excited for the next volume.

Magi is really taking a while to truly get going. It still continues in fits and bursts, but the storytelling is becoming more and more fluid as the story goes on. I'm figuring that by next volume, the short bursts will have evened out and the plot will flow more smoothly.Anyway, in this volume we learn a bit more about Aladdin and find out about the Kou Empire, who seems to be our love/hate enemy. The thing I like about this series is that the bad guy, in this case the Kou Empire, is made up of many individuals with different ideas. Just because a character is from the Kou Empire doesn't make them necessarily evil. There are good people as well as bad, and I like how they don't take the two-dimensional view of an enemy country other manga have. This is a promising story with excellent characters.

After being seperated from Alibaba after leaving the dungeon Aladdin is discovered by the Kouga Clan and an old lady by the name of Baba tells Aladdin more about the Rukh and that he is now a member of her family. However, the Kou Empire is on the border of the Kouga Clan's land and are threatening to invade.A little more is exposed in this volume with the addition of a few new characters that may be around much longer than originally thought and with more information revealed about Aladdin being a Magi there is another twist when another Magi (of the Kou Empire) is revealed as well. Just who are the Magi and how many are there?

A review for books 1- 26This Manga starts our humorous. I really enjoyed the characters at the beginning. The farther you read the deeper the plots become. Enjoyable at the beginning, and a must read for the later books. I can NOT wait for books 27 + Characters are real and raw. Everyone has there faults and I feel the author/artist dose a wonderful job of bringing everyones points of view, twisted though they might be, in to clear focus. (note: I wouldn't recommend this manga for young teens. I fine the sexual innuendos pretty funny as an adult, but not really appropriate for younger audiences. Also the plot gets pretty dark at times. )I read the English translation on KissManga.com

3.5 stars, but only for selfish reasons.I don't like the Kouga clan arc which is inspired by the Mongolian meadows. It always frustrates me so much... Somehow it's better than the anime, I remember how I really wanted to kill everyone in this damn arc. I guess, the characters are less annoying in the manga because I'm not forced to listen to them. I can just ignore what they're saying, which I have done a lot here. Also there is no Alibaba in this one, only Aladin and a peek of Morgiana. But the end got me craving for more because Morgiana is a little badass cinnamon roll that needs to be protected at all costs.

I'm getting more and more curious about Aladdin's true identity. One of the scanlation groups who's working on this mentioned that Magi's are those who select the king/queen which kinda puts them on the same level and purpose as those with the Djinns. But Djinns are summoned when a Magi touches that star of david symbol from an item found in a Dungeon. And Paimon said that she cannot command a Magi which makes it impossible that they are of the same level. It's also weird that Aladdin has a Djinn but it didn't choose him to be a king, rather Ugo-kun acts as some sort of a guardian to him. TL;DR: I'm confused as heck. Therefore, I need to read more.

This volume starts off with Chapter 18: Rukh. After finishing the Dungeon Dive our three main characters are separated and continue on from where they woke.Alibaba doesn't appear in this volume as much as I would like, but focuses more on Aladdin's part of the story.Morgiana also travels ever closer to her homeland, but encounters a huge obstacle in the form of a group of bandits.Cheers to you my Pretties!

Everyone got separated... Now they are each on their own adventure I guess. Aladdin is still beyond adorable. I'm not quite sure what Alibaba is doing. Morgiana is slowly chasing after Alibaba. She is also about to kick some serious butt in order to get there too. I am really enjoying this adventure.

I really really enjoyed reading the manga even though I have seen the anime first. The story is very interesting and the characters are cool! And the usage of magic makes it even more captivating! The action scenes are nice too! The whole art is beautiful! Looking forward to reading more volumes! :)
