Not my cup of tea. Lyrical moments get bogged down in wedges of blah.

This is the type of book from which you are meant to gain great insight, however it is not my style of writing at all. Too much earnest, learned intellectualising about 'meaning', and not very accessible. Whilst I can understand what has been written I don't relate to it emotionally. She refers frequently to other well known, so called 'wise' people such as Michael Leunig, Philip Adams and Stephanie Dowrick, most of whom I can't relate to, and find far too caught up in their own intellectualising about life. Perhaps a touch of humility is required?Overall very very high brow ABC reading, and I find I'm happier with my lower brow books.

A very thought-provoking book which I enjoyed a lot. Occasionally she came across as a bit "schoolmarm-ish" but mostly it was well worth reading.

I have learned to reflect more on my own story and have made some discoveries of my inner resources.
