I work at Babeland, a fantastic women-owned sex toy shop with stores in NYC and Seattle. This is a sex manual by the owners, which I would recommend to young women with some experience, who need more information. The photos of real people (not models) of all different body types, plus the gorgeous layout make it one of the most contemporary sex manuals on the market, and one that your 22-year old college graduate won't laugh off the table.

I had a chance while waiting for a friend to actually read through this book, pretty much cover to cover. I am SO disappointed in it! There are several reasons, but here are the top 3:1. Stop sexualizing breasts. They're no more "sexual" than men's (yes men have breast tissue, just not as much of it). Is this area erogenous for a lot of women? Sure. But it's erogenous for a lot of men, too.2. Stop saying foreskin is removed for "traditional" purposes. It's done for health reasons. Forget the aesthetic of it being cut, it's also more healthy and carries less bacteria. 3. And this is the BIG problem: Stop pushing the false myth of a hymen in women! It.Does.Not.Exist! Female virginity is NOT a tangible entity. There is NO layer of skin to "break through". Very few women bleed. If bleeding happens it's because of lack of muscle adjustment to the penis (the vaginal walls are muscle) and/or lack of lubrication. It doesn't matter if it's the 1st time or the 1001st time, if you don't let the woman adjust and if there's no lubrication it will hurt and bleeding can still occur. It it's been a while from one sexual encounter to another there will be a similar reaction and also soreness (akin to going back to the gym after several weeks). STOP perpetuating this sexist myth!! There is no special "barrier" to "pop".I'm amazed that a book written by a woman is so stupid and ignorant. How can a woman not know about her own body? Is she so brainwashed by society she can't be bothered to learn? How about instead of writing a book about female anatomy and orgasm the author should try reading one!Learn the TRUTH about the hymen MYTH! It's made up to oppress women. If a woman has sex with other women but never with men, no she's not a "virgin" (something else made up to oppress women.)Start small. Full disclosure: I was recently hired by this company. This book was provided to me by them.I've been a sex educator for a few years and this is definitely a book I'll recommend from now on. Moregasm does a great job of giving accurate information without feeling very dense. Conversely, the book takes on a conversational tone (for example, sometimes they'll use "cock" instead of "penis") but doesn't make the reader feel sleazy. I love the pictures included. Not only are they informative and useful, but they also include a wide range of bodies, ethnicities, and gender presentations. I think that's more important than most people realize. Rather than just focusing on positions the book also covers communication in relationships and important topics like sexual health and gender.BUY THIS, READ IT, AND LOVE THIS BOOK!

Great information presented in a positive, fun way. Has wonderful basic information that would be appropriate for young people who are just learning about sexuality, but is comprehensive enough to teach something to folks who've been goin' at it for years. The safer sex/contraception chapter could have more info, but overall, a great primer.

One of the best, practical books on all things sex-related I've ever read. Super unintimidating, pretty pretty pictures and gosh, informative. Great for libertines and prudes alike... everyone has something to learn. I wrote a review of it here, if ya wanna read more of my thoughts: http://www.comediva.com/lowbrow-shit/...
