The Billionaire's Unexpected Heir was a fair read but....there was a trigger that make it a bit difficult to read.A little over a year ago, Jack Garnier, partying playboy and man-whore extraordinaire, spent the evening and night with the beautiful Heather, the first woman who ever got to him. After their time together he has regretted not getting more than her first name, or at least what state and city she lived in, so he could keep in touch with her. She did something to him that no woman ever had. Recently he and his siblings found out they are the grandchildren of a very wealthy grandmother, their father's mother. They never knew her because their father left the family as soon has he and his twin were born and the grandmother was unaware that her philandering son had produced six offspring by four different women. It has been her mission to meet all her grandchildren and give them some of her holdings, their heritage. Jake is now the new owner of Hickory Hills Thoroughbred farm thanks to her and has traveled across the country to check out his new operation. After arriving he is anxious to check out the barns and the horses. He introduces himself to the ranch manager who refuses to speak to or look at him. When he gets a side glance he realizes it's Heather, the one he has not forgotten. He is thrilled to see her but quickly realizes she is certainly not happy to see him. In fact, she seems extremely angry towards him and he doesn't know why. The next day he follows Heather into the ranch house and notices that the housekeeper is holding a baby. The little one isn't feeling well and Heather decides to take her to the doctor for her fever and fussiness. It is then that it dawns on Jake that the child is Heather's. When Heather picks Mandy up and places the baby on her shoulder, Jake is stunned. He is looking at the same face, hair and eyes that he sees every morning in the mirror while he shaves. What I did not care for: 1. Jake was one of the most arrogant, alpha males that did exactly what he wanted regardless. It was all about him, never taking into consideration her wants and needs. He thought he knew what was best...period.2. He freely admitted, in his self talk, that he partied every night with his party animal friends and had a different woman on his arm (and his bed) every evening. I despise man-whores. He was wildly into partying and whoring around and had been for many years. I was hoping it was not as bad as I suspected but it was and I thought very little of the man and his character. Such a womanizer and women NEVER said no to him.3. I wished Heather would have been stronger. She had trouble resisting him and gave in too easily. It turned out okay with a sweet HEA but it's tough for me to rate a book more than three stars when I don't care for one of the MCs.

Okay I don't know why I know torturing myself and reading HP books there all basically the same about some Jerk who likes to sleep around but then finds the love of his life and knocks her up but then leaves her because he is to afraid, and then a couple months later he finds out that he got her pregnant and all of a sudden he realizes that he loves her. Okay first of all if he really loved her like he said he did. Why do they always sleep around? Second of all why does the girl always have to be a virgin or some poor Naive girl ? I would like to read a HP book with a stronger heroine as a character and the male as the poor virgin lol. Now that would be a change, but the book wasn't that bad I've read worst HP book.P.S the reason I keep reading HP books, because there short and even though they have terrible leading men there still some how addicting.

Like the previous book and, i'm assuming, the rest of the series, this book too was fast paced.Emerald, Jake's grandmother, found out through private investigators that Jake has a 6-month old daughter that he does not know off. She pulls some strings and makes sure he and the mother of the child meet again and he finds out about the daughter. When I read "One night, two babies", I assumed that proposing to get back into a relationship immediately was a one-book thing but when I read it here again, it got a me irked. As soon as Jake finds out about the baby he demands that the mother and baby move in with him in the mansion and sets his mind on convincing her to marry him.Suffice to say, you can finish it within an hour or two and its really fast paced. But I loved the epilogue.

This book was very disappointing. I don't really have the highest literary expectations when it comes to Harlequins or anything, I know the usual plotlines, they are usually easy-reads etc. So I knew right away there was going to be some sort of conflict that threatened Jake & Heather's romance and was making guesses as to what that conflict would be. I was very surprised that it consisted of Heather watching Jake talk to his partying friends for a short time and her getting all paranoid that he wanted to leave and running home to pack.I also wished that there was more backstory. I would especially love to know more about Emerald, instead we get 4-5 mentions of her throughout the book even though she orchestrated Jake & Heather getting back into each others' lives.

Usually I don't care for secret baby storylines mainly because of the fact that they are secret baby storylines. Tell the father of your baby that he's going to be a child already and if worse comes to worse, deal with it somehow. He has a right to know. So, moving on, this one the heroine did try and contact the babies father - more than once and could never get in touch with him. So, she did try.Anyway, I did enjoy this book. :)

This was a DNF for me, thus no rating.I got half way through this book and there was yet to be any conflict. The plot was pretty bland and wasn't holding my attention enough for me to care about how the story ends.

A while ago I realized that I don't care for Harlequin books. They aren't bad, but they are never my favorite books, but I did find this to be a great book. Seeing a modern view of the horse farm, races, and classy parties was a nice change and an entertaining setting. I am one of those girls to swoon over a guy who adores children, and it was so sweet to see Jake get to know his little girl and fight for Heather's attention. I enjoyed the book, but there were little things about it that irritated me. First off, I'm tired of love at first sight. I became annoyed that in every scene they began kissing. I understand that it's a Harlequin romance novel, but I prefer a book in which the juicy parts are hyped up from the rarity and agonizing wait of them. Sure, they weren't doing the dirty the entire book, but Heather and Jake were making out so often that it was hard to get excited for their interactions. Also, the number of times the word "honey" was used irritated me.Heather easily fell for Jake, I mean, who wouldn't? He was sweet and still pulled off being enough of a 'bad' boy to be completely alluring. I'm glad Heather was strong willed enough to be cautious of Jake because he didn't sound promising at first, but, yes, I'm also glad she didn't put up too much of a fight against him. I like the names that were chosen. I have a baby cousin named Lila Arielle, and those are the names of two characters that appeared in the book. I approve!Overall, I thought it was a pleasant read. Cute, sweet, sexy. Jake's family sounded nice and I wouldn't mind reading their stories!

I really enjoyed this story. Emerald hired a private investigator searching high and low to find each of her grandsons. After she found them, she played match maker so they could find true love.Billionaire Jake Garnier had just bought Hickory hill thoroughbred farm. To his surprise the ranch manager was Heather McGwire. Heather was the only lady he couldn't forget. They shared a HOT and Steamy night of passion a year ago. He didn't understand why she was giving him the cold shoulder, or why she seemed angry at his presence. Then he found out he was a dad. It was so sweet, and emotional to see Jake bound with his daughter. As he bonded with his daughter, the sparks between Jake, and Heather started sizzling once again. Heather is afraid to let her heart believe in Happy ever after, and fairy tales, and Jake does not believe in love. You will just have to read the story to see how it all played out. This was a very sweet book with very little drama. It was nice to read a book with no villains for a change , and the Hero was never a jerk. The heroine was not a doormat, and did not whine. She took care of the animals before the vet could get there. She was good at her job. She was also a good mother. This was a book worth reading.

This was a very cute story.. Kinda cheesy but cute. Jake has just learned that he has a grandmother that loves to play match maker. Jake and Heather had met at an auction over a year ago, and ever since he hasn't been able to get her out of his head. He never got her last name and didn't know where she lived. There was no way to find her.As the new owner of Hickory Hills thoroughbred farm, he introduces himself to the farm manager only to discover it's Heather. Not only does he find Heather, he learns they have a 6 month daughter together.Heather has gotten through the last year telling herself how much she hates Jake, and how big of a jerk he is. She knows she can't let herself get attached to him but her heart has different plans. This is a very cute story about Jake trying his hardest to show heather that he is a changed man and he's ready to start a family.*I did some research, this is a series, and I started at the very last book.

My Old Kentucky HomeI love love and I love it more when it's found in my City and State. You did an absolute fantastic job of deciding the festivities in Louisville during Derby Week. I couldn't decide if you were speaking of The Brown or Seelbach when describing the grand hotel, but both are rather nice. I'm glad that Jake and Heather were able to find each other and true love. I obtained this series on a fluke and read them in the older of Luke, Arielle and Jake. So I'm off to read the first three books in the series.

This book was entertaining enough, but I really don't like the hidden secret baby thing. That really annoys me. I know she says she tried to let him know..blah blah blah. If you know where someone is, it shouldn't take over a year to get a letter "return receipt only" to him! Other than that little tidbit the rest of the book/story was good. I wouldn't recommend only for the reason stated above. I know other people really enjoy those story lines and I would never take that away from them. So if that is your cup of tea..enjoy this one.

The Billionaire's Unexpected Heir" by Kathie DeNosky is a perfect fit for the Harlequin "Desire" book line. A sizzling reunion romance, a darling baby, and a bad-boy billionaire who's not so bad after all. This is why I love category romance: It's just what you need, just when you want it! I look forward to reading more romances by Ms. DeNosky!

I thought it was a great book... Jake should have known something was up since she was radiating anger..but hey... it was a great book and he had to chase what he wanted ..she didnt just hand it over to him on a platter...tho at the party I would have walked my self on the dance floor and snatched his tail off..I received this book free from Harlequin ambassadors

Cute romance with a few twists that are small. Lots of sex in the middle, Desire is not as heavy into the sex as the Blaze line of romances. I'm working my way through all the different romances to see what I like the best. These books are like candy, quick and sweet.

The story was good except that I did not know it was in a series and of course it had to be the last one.
