Green Lantern/Silver Surfer: Unholy Alliances Reviews
Cosmic heroes converge!Creative Team:Writer: Ron MarzIllustrator: Darryl BanksBRIGHTEST DAY, BLACKEST SPACEA month before of the iconic DC vs. Marvel event that lead to the Amalgam event, there was a herald to the meeting of the major comic book universes......Green Lantern Kyle Rayner and the Silver Surfer! In a gorgeous prestige format publication where you have all the story in an one-shot comic book. This kind of crossovers between titles of DC and Marvel are quite rare (nowadays (2017) I don't think that they'd considered it again), so being to read this kind of stuff is truly awesome.Silver Surfer, former herald of the fearsome planet-eater Galactus, possess the Cosmic Power inside of him and therefore is one of the most powerful being in the Marvel Universe and certainly the fastest one travelling through it.It's relevant to take in account that this happened when Kyle Rayner was the only remaining Green Lantern in the DC Universe, after the disastrous events when Hal Jordan got crazy (it was due other reasons but...) and ended the GL Corps and the Guardians of the Universe. Also, Kyle is still kinda rookie in the super-hero business when he is getting involved in this messed-up comic opera...BEWARE THEIR POWERS!Once upon a time a guy named Thanos and he had made a machine, but he has a teeny-weeny trouble, he needed one final thing to complete his insidious machine......a Green Lantern Power Ring.At that comic book publications' moment, a GL Power Ring was something absurdly rare, actually Kyle has the only one, BUT......that wasn't the real problem......Thanos and Kyle Rayner were in totally different freakin' universes! But thanks a fierce battle between Kyle and Hal (now Parallax), that by the way destroyed Oa, a breach between DC and Marvel universe has been produced, so......Thanos sends Terrax (another former herald of Galactus) to take the GL Power Ring from Kyle, but while Kyle is a still pretty green (pun intended) in the super-hero business, he isn't an easy target......it's when Thanos knew that if he wants to do something right, it's needed to be done by himself......in person.OUR DYING WORLDSBut don't think that all the fun is happening only in the good ol' DC universe......oh no, sireee! At the marchin' Marvel Universe, the cool Silver Surfer gets shocked that one of the few worlds that he was able to save from the terrible hunger of Galactus, is now destroyed after all......but not by the celestial planet-eater being......but by the Cyborg Superman!!!Let them fight! But, if the situation wasn't volatile enough......Parallax (Hal Jordan) had followed the Cyborg Superman to the Marvel Universe!Hal Jordan with the power of Parallax is obsessed about life.Thanos is obsessed with Death (literally!!!).Once these two heavy-weight galactic contenders would meet......not one, but TWO universes will tremble!!!Green Lantern Kyle Rayner and the Silver Surfer will have to solve fast the usual cliché first-encounter-super-hero-fight, since they will need all their powers at hands to deal with this multiverse menace!
Good story, great art. I've always been a big Kyle Raynor fan, and I'm a sucker for Thanos, so this book hit all the right buttons for me.
Unlike the previous DC/Marvel crossovers I've read recently, this one fits into the existing continuities and although I didn't read it at the time it continues the ongoing story of Hal Jordan's fall from grace as Parallax. Watching two universe collide is always fun.
This was the best crossover I've read so far. The characters worked well together. The story was fast-paced and self contained. It was a solid read and I really enjoyed it.
Crossover DC/Marvel publicado por Vid en los 90s.
Another good crossover between DC and Marvel. Ties in with the DC vs. Marvel Mini-series.
Solid superhero crossover with nice art. Plus, it has Thanos and that makes everything better.
Crossover DC/Marvel tangencialmente relacionado con las historias personales de cada personaje.
