Jack and Nicky knew each other since they were kids. they were both part of the foster care system and places in an abusive home. Jack always looked out for and took care of Nicky. They came up with the plan that when Jack turned 18 he would go off and begin his career as a tattoo artist while waiting for Nicky to turn 18. then they would begin to build their life together. on the eve of Jack's 18th birthday he and Nicky (16) got matching tattoos. a fallen angel that Jack's artist father had drew before he passed away. as they spent the night together jack had no idea that nicky was going to take off the next day. nicky knew that the man she lived with in the foster home would come after her now that jack wasnt there to protect her.years later jack is a super successful tattoo artist who has a reality show al a Miami Ink. his trademark is angel tattoos. he cant get nicky out off his mind and every time he sees a picture of her modeling lingerie with the tat that matches his he goes a little batty.he comes up with a genius idea to kidnap her and force her to change her tat. somehow if they aren't matching his life would be better and he would be over her. yeah i don't get it either. he finds her tending bar and dancing coyote style at a bar in LA. she comes with him willingly in the car off to a cabin he has in the mountains. once he is in the car with her he discovers she is in the D/s scene and tries to see how far he can take being her Dom. eventually after a lot of sex and back and forth relationship issues he calls a friend of his to do a background check on her to see what she is hiding. she overhears, takes off, he drags her back to the cabin kicking and screaming where he ties her down and starts to modify her tat while she is screaming for him to stop. eventually some common sense kicks in and he does. she forgives him in about 3 seconds flat and then tells him her life story. she is on the run from an abusive husband who has pretty much taken their daughter hostage threatening to kill the baby if she tries to fight anything in the divorce papers or ask for custody. jack helps her with all her legal matters and along the way decides he is no better than her ex so he has to stay far away. she follows with her baby and HEA is served right up.i don't even know what to say about this book. they go on and on about how he kidnapped her twice. well, not really. i mean she went pretty willingly and didn't really make an effort to leave or even use her cell phone to call for help. he may have said that he would force her to come along but she hopped right on in the car and put her hand down her panties really quickly. tying her to the bed and starting to ink her while she is screaming is another matter all together. at least he realizes how monumentally wrong that is. she however does not. i am also not too sure how anyone would be willing to sit back and let their baby stay with someone so insane. ok, he threatened to kill her, but dancing on a bar hoping to get enough money for legal fees to do something about it doesn't really seem proactive to me. i'd be half way to Europe by now. jack was whiny beyond belief and nicky was slightly crazy. things that should be completely upsetting to her just weren't and things that shouldn't be treated as life or death were. i still don't get how this man was obsessing over the tattoo on a woman he has only seen on billboards and online for years. let it go sunshine. the entire premise of using the tat as a way for him to goto her was just silly. most of the book was just silly for that matter. i ended up just sighing and saying "now why would you go and do that?" a lot.

Yes that is a big 5 star rating for skin Deep! I picked this one up at the bargain store yesterday starting reading last night and found I didn't want to put it down. Jack is a hero that I love he is dominating, big guy with tats, hot, and so madly in love with Nicky! Nicky has made some very poor decisions in her life and Jackson has come back just in time. Yes it is a silly little "kidnapping" but I didn't care what brought them together I just wanted them together! They have sizzling chemistry and a deep soulful connection that was apparent from the beginning. While they do have lots of sex it is all done very tastefully and I found it never to be gratuitous. Always about the love, the life they had, and the life they want. I highly recommend it for someone who wants to read about BDSM this would be a perfect place to start the focus is on the sub/dom role and is very light compared to other books I have read. No ewww factors. Just pure hot sex between the h/h. This is a keeper for me.

Jackson is creepy. He kidnaps her against her will to forcibly change her tattoo, modify her body to fit his will when she says no a dozen times. Even though he doesn't do it because apparently once he has her stripped naked, handcuffed to the bed his tattooing supplies out she's crying and saying no, he finally realized how'd messed up it is.

The book title and the cover was really promising. Unfortunately the book didn't live up to my expectations. It was just plain boring. The storyline was weak and fell totally flat. I couldn't feel the chemistry between the characters. It was kind of "Wham Bam Thank You Mam..." Just because it is an erotic book doesn't mean the sex scenes should be a boring repetition. Sorry, this was just an indifferent read. Pity!

(June) This book was ok, but something was off about it. I didn't feel like we got to know the characters more than just on the surface. The sex was hot, but I found it hard to like the heroine (excuses aside, she was an idiot and a...well, not a bad mother but an irresponsible one)- and felt the ending was too pat (refering to what happens to the evil almost-ex husband).

I borrowed this book from a friend, whew does she like a naughty story! LOL Well now so do I. I am not usually one for BDSM, but this book has just the right amount of kink in it! I would read more by this author.

For being a dom, the hero really had to grow a pair. He was whiny and thought he knew what was best for everyone. The heroine was also not very likable. She would have been fine cept for the fact she left her baby with a man who threatened to kill the baby.

I only gave this book 2 stars because not only was it unrealistic (Jackson and Nicky are former foster siblings who end up both famous in their fields. What are the odds of that happening?) but also because the scenes that were supposed to be hot really grossed me out or I just couldn't stop shaking my head at the ridiculousness of it. First, of all, Jackson ends up calling Nicky's vagina "his pussy" and stakes a claim to it. Then they go back and forth for at least almost an entire page, her calling it, "your pussy" and him referring to it as "my pussy". That sounded horrible and it was tediously long. Of course even after that first reference as "his pussy" it was still referred to like that throughout the entire book. Everytime he said, "my pussy" it just made me imagine him with a vagina, which was not a pretty picture. Also, the writer always referred to Nicky's vaginal fluids as "Cream". That had me gagging and resentful. Here I am reading a hot scene in the book and just like that, BAM!, I'm fighting to keep my food down. Besides that, my favorite kind of doughnut is the kind with cream in the middle and I'm sure this book has made it so that I will always think of that disgusting metaphor anytime I go to eat one. Thanks Anna Evans. I really appreciate that. One last thing, when Nicky talks about giving Jackson a blow-job, its equally disgusting. At one point she describes a drip of pre-cum running out of his penis as a single sticky tear. She also talks about wanting to suck all of his cum out and other various disgusting things. The book would have been better without the metaphors. They were just a little much for me, but hey, maybe you might not mind that. It really wasn't a bad book and it was interesting as long as someone wasn't talking about cream or calling her vagina my/your pussy.

I didn’t know this book had BDSM when I bought it. As most of you know I can only take so much of this stuff. This book did test my boundaries, but I really liked it. It has spanking, handcuff, kidnapping, anal talk, clamps and more. I think the real reason I really like this book was because of the way it is written, it was on the mild side BDSM instead of just hard core BDSM and it was written more for romance. This is a very quick read with some twist and turns in it to keep you wanting to read more. Few spoilers Jack is a tattoo artist, He puts matching tattoo’s on both him and Nicky when they were young, then Nicky left him and married someone else. So years later he decides he wants to take her off since they were no longer together. Jack plots to kidnap Nicky form work, but when he gets there he doesn’t to kidnap her, she laves with him on her own terms. Form there Jack learns the new Nicky want to be dominated and that’s right up his ally now. The thing is both of these two still love each other after all these years and now they want to make another go at it. But can they make it work? Its a struggle and Nicky has a few surprises that Jack have to find out. I would suggest this book to any newbie to BDSM.

I don't understand some of the reviews. This book just was just ok. Jackson was obsessed over Nicky's tattoo. Seriously! Get some therapy and get over it.Nicky lost her child and was working to earn money for a lawyer. Excuse me! Cops -- call the cops! Get your child back. Quit being helpless. And then conveniently her husband becomes disabled. No messy legal proceedings. No killing or threatening him. Just "hooray, I have my kid back!"And I despise the whole "I'm not good for you" thing. So, despite what you want, I'm leaving and will never speak to you again. But, when you show up, I'm all in.Some of the sex scenes are hot, but it does not make up for the really bad story line!

This book took me forever to get through. I kept putting it down and trying to come back and finish it. After a while the, sex scenes were just a regurgitation of the same. BDSM Blah! She's a exotic dancer with a inferiority complex. Come on!...How the hell does that work...? She wants to be a submissive, but can’t keep her mouth shut long enough to actually be one. He’s a Tattoo Artist Dom who wants to remove a tattoo he did for her in high school, so he kidnaps her. Please! You know where this is going, can’t help but not. The characters…well, it just couldn’t feel anything for them. They were too flat. Just because it is erotic read doesn’t mean it has to be crap. Two stars was a gift.

I thought this was a great read. The love story that unfolds is wonderful. The main characters were in love with each other once when very young. When they are brought back together of course that old flame re-ignites with a twist. This book highlights a "sweeter" side of BDSM, sub and dom play. I have read some stories that were: OMG I cant believe I just read that! This book didn't have shock value which I felt was a good thing. It showed a side of the BDSM lifestyle that can exist between two people who have extreme feelings for each other. It was very passionate and very HOT HOT HOT!

Very Typical easy read for those lonely nights. It was sexy, it was loving, it was spicy and it was sweet all wrapped into the perfect man named Jackson. There was a very heartfelt back story with just enough to give the reader a reason to keep reading and the points of view from both characters showed the individual problems from both Nicky and Jackson to justify why they couldn't just have a happy ever after after five chapters. In short, simple, sweet and hot.

The story was captivating, but the excuse for the story was stupid: a tattoo artist has the same tattoo on his body as the one he put on his ex-girlfriend. So he kidnaps her, so that he can change her tattoo and so it doesn't look the same as his. My question is? Why go to all the trouble to kidnap her and change her tattoo? Why didn't he just have his own changed? But I guess logical reasoning doesn't even enter into the thinking of most of the characters in this book.

I thought the story line for this book was just ok in the beginning. It was all kidnap ex- girlfriend and modify tattoo. and it was like that for the first 3 chapters. but after.... holy crap... hot scenes and the story just developed. I really enjoyed it. Nicky was doing the best she could to get her daughter back and Jackson... well jackson was hot.

I was shocked at how much I really enjoyed this book! It was even more descriptive than 50 Shades and with better writing and a decent story. I enjoyed every minute. It was hot, and a short, easy read. Definitely would read it again!

3.5 stars. Liked it ok. Sounds like it should be dark, but it's not. There is an crazy ex husband, which could have added some excitement, but it didn't. It was enjoyable, but never quite got there.

So far I don't care for it, although it's easier "erotica" to read than Shades of Grey. Seems like it may be geared to a younger reader or a simpler mind. I will be glad to get it finished. My own imagination is better. To be fair, I'm only on chapter 7 as I write this.
