Silas And Con Reviews
Had I not read the dust jacket, I would have been pretty confused by the plotline of this story. Silas is a young boy who sets off on his own through the Scottish countryside after being abandoned by his parents. He collects a menagerie of furry friends along the way, and finds a new appreciation for life. Each chapter focuses on a different "chapter" in Silas's journey. However, the stories seem incomplete. There is no developed back-story involving Silas and his parents. Then there is this random, strange stuffed monkey that seems to be causing a lot of trouble for Silas and his companion, a mutt named Con. What is up with the monkey?! Is it symbolic of having a "monkey on your back"? And what is up with the weird dude on the island?!This story seems to be incomplete in many ways. The content that IS there is well done and kept me turning the pages.
