    one line in here really bothered me because of it's cuteness, fortunately it came near the end of the novel. spoiler alert! the horse dies. after dad kills the horse w/the broken leg "Mother wrapped her arms around Father and did not try to hush his hoarse sobbing."

    Juv. book about the 1811 AR earthquake. With new concerns over hydrofracting and more frequently occurring "little shakes" even here at home I was interested in a children's book to explain what an eathquake could be like.

    Not much plot or development, but an interesting perspective on the New Madrid earthquakes.
