I heard Brown read a poem at the funeral of a friend and was so impressed. Here, he shares his own struggle with his faith and the world, working in lines from the story of Job. He is quick to tell us he's not exactly Job, but he relates to Job's struggles. His honesty makes this slim book a treasure. His poetry is so accessible, so easy to identify with. His honesy is an example for us all of the way to lead a life of faith in the real world.

This book of poetry is a wonderful companion to the biblical account of Job's travails and it also stands well on its own as one person's attempt to articulate what it means to be human.

Not Exactly Job is an interesting one-sided dialogue between Nathan and Job. It really pushes the reader to view Job in a different light. I found it both humorous and deep and very "Nathan".
