So What...?: Stop worrying about what others think and make your dreams come true Reviews
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I liked this book and a lot of what the author had to say but I had a big problem with one thing she kept saying. I don’t like that she says that if someone else has done it first than it’s possible. I don’t think that everything should have that limitation. People are firsts at things all the time and I don’t think that anyone should hold themselves back because no one else has done something before. But other than that I really gained a lot from her advice and her stories. I really liked that she drew from her own experiences and shared the vulnerable parts of her past.
I was blessed with a free copy of this book, and I have chosen of my own volition to share my review with you! This short booklet (54 pages) elaborates on a method of how to silence the negative voices in one's life. The process involves listening to the voice, gathering evidence supporting or defeating the statements, vetting the evidence, and coming to a final conclusion. This process seems like it should work, but it will require some effort to actually utilize. I look forward to silencing some of these negative voices in my life.
There are MANY books out there that give advise, and direction on ways to improve your self esteem, and outlook on your life. However; I’m saying this with a hundred percent honesty. Not one of those books have I ever finished. Not one have I ever completely agreed with. They’ve left me with more questions than I started, confused about their belief systems, or the dialect was so over my head I felt I needed to go back to school for a refresher course on the largest most complicated words in the English language 101. I’m not Einstein, but I’m not ill educated either, that’s why this book was incredibly fascinating to me. For the first time I didn’t feel I had to have the initials PHD behind my name to connect with the content, or understand the entirety of the ideas. This book is for everyone, and everyone who’s ever had a dream or struggled with their inner confidence. The author bonded with the reader by telling her story, and opening herself up for her readers to know. She asked you questions, challenged the reader, and comforted the reader every step of the way, while all the time encouraging them to become the person she knew they could become. The author led you scenario by scenario, outlining your life’s goals and dreams. She encouraged you, gave you tools to discourage those people in your life and situations that crush your dreams and self esteem. Her words were wise, easy to understand and comprehend. Her direction was not only eye opening, but filled you with encouragement and hope that you too could adapt this concept to your own way of thinking to overcome your insecurities, and fears. This book couldn’t of come at a more crucial time in my life. They say that all things happen for a reason, and I’m a believer. I’ve struggled with these very issues since childhood. Not once have I connected with words so powerfully about my issues as I have with this authors. It’s a must have read packed full of tools, tips, direction, encouragement, and vision for a life you were meant to live. I was given a free copy. I voluntarily gave an honest review.
