*Book source ~ Kindle Lending LibraryInheriting her “crazy” Aunt Fiona’s all-and-sundry shop and finding out she also inherited Fiona’s witchy powers threw Jinx for a loop, but she’s been coping fairly well. Until now. Taking things in stride has given Jinx a big head and now she’s all set to do some stupid shit. Which she does. Now, she has to fix things before the world figures out magic is a real thing.I enjoyed book one enough to continue with book two, but I have to say the bloom is off the rose. Jinx does something really stupid because she thinks, after only a month and some internet research on some sketchy sites, that she’s got a handle on her witchy powers. Um, no. She has a magical shop for fuck’s sake! I would have been bugging the shit out of Myrtle for answers or to be pointed to the proper research materials. But no. She’s an idiot who then compounds her stupidity yet again later in the book. And again. I’m done. I cannot read a book where the main character is a moron. Plus, other characters are keeping secrets from Jinx when she really needs to know this shit. For realz. Great concept. Lame MC. Poor plot.

Darby I love you....Humor in urban fantasy can be a joy. And much of this book just makes me smile. Sign me up as a fellow crazy cat witch and you have a match made in heaven. The combination of Appalachian magic, Cherokee legends and Celtic heritage and you knock the ball out of the park.I just ordered the whole series after finishing this volume. It is a guilty pleasure I am unashamedly claiming as mine own. Darby, please send a cousin to come enjoy my home. I promise a variety of garments, chocolates, lots of books and tv.

Nice, quick, light continuation of Witch at HeartThe second book in the Jinx Hamilton series find our newly discovered witch trying to learn how to use her newly found powers by searching the internet; unfortunately, she winds up raising all the ghosts from the town cemetery, including a dangerous an evil sorceress that, we will find out, has a history with Jinx's family. Most of the remaining story has to do with Jinx's efforts to return the ghosts to their graves and ban the sorceress back to her resting place.Along the way, we get a more thorough understanding of the history of Jinx's magical family, as well as the other characters in the story, including Myrtle, the spirit of the store; her boyfriend, Chase; and here BFF, Tori.In short, if you enjoyed Witch At Heart, this is a nice continuation and sets up the scenario for the next book.

Faerlie goodWhile I was totally enchanted with the first book, I found in this second instalment in Jinx's story a somewhat jumbled mix of magical characters, some utterly charming and some surplus to requirements and dragging the tale back to Middle Earth, so to speak. Still the same quirky, machine-gun-paced and pop-culture-referenced conversations between the BFFs which are truly enjoyable, but too many characters requiring far too much back story to keep my eyes from rolling back in my head too often. Well plotted, however, and well written with some of the support characters fleshed out (hehe) nicely.

Well, this book is even better than the first. Jinx is learning so much more about her powers. I can't say too much with out giving away the surprise, but there is so much more information about the other characters in Jinxs life that comes out ...but she doesn't know yet! However, her and her bff Tori, find out why they are so close..it's not just a coincidence . They way the author lets us know these surprises is written so well..it definitely sets the stage for the next book and I can't wait to read it.!!!

A definite improvement over the first book. There’s a lot more going on - drama, mystery, and thrills! For the first time we see narration from other characters’ points of view, which is interesting and helps to further deepen the plot. All in all, I was right about this series. Glad I have the whole series to work through, I will say that much!

Exciting read! The pace is excellent, the characters growing with every page, and the story becomes more complex as each chapter passes. Magical creatures, surprises, tender moments and chilling ones. One problem solved, another appears. Another must read!

I liked this book. It read well and the plot was interesting. I love Jinx and Tori. They seemed to really click in this book. I think it was fantastic having the pair of them together for this adventure. Learning more about Chase was good too. I found this to be a really good read.

This series has me hookedThe idea of a store with a spirit was the original draw to the book. Now there are so many characters that are connected mystically that I cannot wait to get to book 3.
