Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees Reviews
The story of the Monkees is a fascinating glimpse into the nature of celebrity and the toll it exacts. Through this book you hear the voices of the Monkees when they did not have to 'be' the 'Monkees' - voices that were drowned out by the screams of adulation that followed them for several years wherever they went. In the voices you will find a group of 4 young men who had a love/hate relationship with each other and the individual price they had to pay for fame. The comments on Jimi Hendrix (he briefly opened for them) are haunting - in the end do you follow your fame or your talent?
Great coffee table book for Monkee fans. It is filled with anictoates that any fan would love.
Loved the Monkees growing up. Love the combination of stories and pictures.
