Out picnicking with his parents, a little boy ran into a frog and got engaged in a friendly competition. "I can squat." "I can squat too." " I can jump." "I can jump too." The boy and the frog had so much in common that the frog thought the boy was their long-lost prince and invites him to come with it to see the King. Thinking quickly, the boy pointed out that he was not as he had dark hair, pink ears, high nose and he didn't wear green and definitely didn't eat bugs. The boy kept talking, from Spring to summer, from summer to autumn, until when winter came and the frogs were about to sleep for the whole winter. The boy said goodbye to the frogs and ran back to his parents who had just got all ready for the picnic to start. The book is comprised of two parts, part 1 being the Chinese and pinyin and part 2 the English translation and thumbnail illustrations. Mandarin learners will have an easy time following the plot and meanwhile learning the language as there are a lot of repetitions. Have a special love for the endpapers and the boy's dynamic expressions.

This picture book creates a distinctive, confident child character according to children's unique language and perspective. It overlaps fantasy with reality, and presents the characteristics of children as well as the fun of childhood. The text and image have wonderful collaboration. The story begins from the realistic world where the boy and his parents are, into the imaginative world of the boy and the frog, and then to the wonder world of the frog kingdom, and sequentially reversed eventually. If the turning point is more natural and smooth, and the word layout is less confusing, the overall effect would be even better.
