The Peanut Fart Reviews
“Usually, Shelton the snail eats only green vegetables. But one day, Shelton ate a peanut and let out a peanut -shaped fart.” Unfortunately the fart becomes attached to Shelton, making him the object of ridicule among his fellow snails. So Shelton puts the fart in a bottle and casts it into a stream. But soon his conscience begins to bother him, and he sets off in search of his abandoned offspring. Wang’s gently humorous tale is matched by his gently rendered watercolor illustrations from start to punchline.
Just met another weird Shelton HaHa! The story is so so fun. I LOVE it and I recommend this picture book to everyone who'd love to appreciate eccentric and lovely characters.
I was first attracted by its cover and the title at 2016 ACTFL Annual Convention and World Languages Expo when I stopped by at Candied Plums booth. It's a funny story, a little weird, weird in a good way though. Shelton the snail only eats green vegetables. But one day, he ate a peanut and let out a peanut-shaped fart. The fart followed Shelton. Wherever he went, the fart went too. All the other snails made fun of him. "You're a fart daddy." Shelton was so embarrassed by his fart that he decided to let it float away in a stream. However, he started to worry about his fart not long after and embarked on an interesting and adventurous journey. At first, I was a little worried that my daughter wouldn't that much into a story about a fart. I was so wrong. She laughed every time I read fart and the last sentence "... Shelton felt as blessed and content as a grandfather, even if his grandkids were just a bunch of farts".
