4.5 StarsI have to say that I was a bit surprised by this book. I love futuristic/science fiction books and this one fit the bill so I picked it up. The way the characters were written was really fun and interesting to watch as they learned about each other since both were so different, yet similar to each other. The native's weren't far from human's but they definitely had a different way of thinking that the Star People. The Star People were exactly that. They may have started as humans from earth, but they'd never actually lived on earth so really they were the ones that were aliens. There is a lot of surprises that come out of this story and some of them are really... out there. However, I suppose that is to be expected when it comes to the Sci-Fi genre. Overall it was an interesting book with a little bit of sweet romance (like G rated).I enjoyed the way the two author's were able to meld their work together to make it flow seemlessly and impossible to tell who wrote what.

I am at a loss for words while this story is still rolling around in my head. First I must say that Si-Fi is not my go to genre to read but I have read both author Kyle Perkins and Virginia Johnson's work in the past and was intrigued to read a book that was co-authored by the two together and I was not disappointed. This book hooked me from the very beginning and held me captive to the very last page. The way these two authors are able to bring to life this beautiful planet without the over use of words at the same time provide loads of action and some blood and guts, a little suspense and innocent romance is a true talent. I would recommend this book to everyone that is looking for an exciting read. This should be a one click must.

Worth the waitI knew it would be good, but I didn't know how good. Fabulous book. For me it took a bit to get the flow of the story moving but when it did, bam. Loved this book, highly recommend it.

I loved this book! Uplifting at times, devastating at others... This is one of those stories that hangs around in your head for long after you've finished it. SciFi meets Romance meets Fantasy, this one is a bit of a hybrid of a few genres, which I totally dig. Well done!

OH MY!A naked flammable captain, a cave, and a kick ass native warrior chick...what do you get? KEPLER!There is nothing better when Kyle & Virginia join forces on a book...it's like when chocolate and peanut butter come together...Reeces!!OKAY so as always no spoilers from me but this was seriously a great read! I am not a Sci-fi reader in the slightest but Kyle and Virginia had me at Teabreeze (if you have it read those...ummm do it). Absolutely love love love the creativity that went into this book it was stellar! First someone who like I said, is not a big Sci-fi reader it had everything from a great plot that I could follow and keep up with, the characters were strong, and the imagery was insane! Totally could live on Kepler (especially if there was a naked flammable captain...ORRIN!!! YUM!!!) Anyway if you are looking for a great Sci-fi read Kepler is where it's at!!!!

This is a must for any sci-fi fans! Orrin is humanity's last hope. Born to lead the last remaining humans to their salvation, he will face challenges that he never saw coming.Aya is tired of life filled with restrictions, she desperately wants freedom. When Orrin and his people land on her planet and the two forces front each other, who is left standing, and who will make the ultimate sacrifice for their people? This is a story that will have you frantically turning pages, trying to find a little time just to get more read, who needs dinner right? With characters that you will fall in love with, and others you would quite happily run over and a story line that will stay with you long after you have read the last word, you really really should read it!

Honestly, I am not a Sci-Fi reader but when I found out Authors Perkins and Johnson were releasing one, I had to one-click. I loved this book, it not only made me feel but think. In my opinion, it was like Avatar meets the Twilight Zone but better. I am in awe of the vivid scenes, absolutely breathtaking. This book brought out so many feelings: shock, anger, happiness, heart palpitations... shoot, I felt like an unnamed character in the storyline. Definitely, this will be one of my favorite reads of 2017.

I waited FOREVER for this book. Virginia and Kyle were constantly teasing me, torturing me with hints and snippets of what this book would be for months on end. I actually wondered if they were even writing a book or just enjoying the misery it was causing me. However, as now proven by its release, Kepler is not only a real book, but a fantastic example of exciting sci-fi! These two authors never waste words, so there are no boring passages to skip over, just pure action and a plot so twisted that I'd never find my way out of it if it were a maze. And speaking of mazes, I think an entire series of books could be written just about the cave and the bizarre world that it is in and of itself. While this may not be suitable for younger readers, there really isn't any major romantic scenes, only innocent kissing, but this book won't get a 'G' rating due to the violence. It will be awhile before I can get some of the more graphic moments out of my head. And that ending....I can't really say anything about it without it turning into a spoiler, but wow, didn't see that coming! Well done and most definitely worth the long wait!

After waiting forever to read this... I'm not disappointed. This is a tad different then what these authors normally write. But I really liked it. If you have read books by either of these authors then you know what type of books they are. Well this is completely different than them. Grab it and check it out.

Kepler is a mix of Sci-Fi, Romance, Fantasy, Mystery...Humanity filled with numerous obstacles as two worlds collide. Perkins and Johnson write seamlessly together and paint a beautiful picture of this planet. The characters develop throughout the book, as we are taken on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I would love to see this continue as a series. Job well done!!

Amazing!Travel far into the galaxy to a place beyond the time of Earth as survivors seek a new foothold on a new planet. Captain Orrin seeks to complete his mission on Kepler. Evicting the natives was the plan. Perhaps even coexisting. Something is making certain they are unwelcome and there's a pull to explore a cave. This is a fantastic story that will lead you on a journey through space and time to a world full of desperation. Both in the natives struggling to survive the changes in their world and the new comers trying to inhabit and conquer this new terrain. There are numerous twists and turns sure to keep you guessing the outcome of the story til the last pages! Surely a 1-click story for all age groups!

FindHow do you find your place in the world when it's not yours? Duty, honor and responsibility goes both ways. That is what people forget. Each side thinks they are just in their actions. One question you need to ask yourself...do you believe in Life or Death? Which strategy would be the best, saving as many lives or causing the most death?

Genre: Sci-Fi/FantasyRating: 4/5Humanity's last hope has arrived at the planet dubbed "Kepler." Their mission is to colonize the planet and keep the human species alive. This is to be done at any cost, including wiping out any existing population. Orrin and his crew of soldiers, botanists, and scientists are all clear about what is at stake and what needs to be done. However, when they finally arrive on Kepler, things become less clear for Orrin. He sees the human-esque population of the planet and begins to think that genocide is not the answer. Aya, the daughter of the ruler of the Vaklaran (native) people, wants to escape her fate of marrying Garret. He was chosen to be her betrothed by her father but she wants a different life. She sees the human ships fall to the planet and sees the immediate effect that they have on the flora and fauna. She soon meets these humans and her beliefs are also challenged. Will the humans and the natives be able to live in peace? What I liked about this book was that there were some really thought provoking issues brought up and everyone's ideas about their world and their existence were constantly being challenged. What at first seemed like a clear cut case of alien invaders coming to a planet to exterminate all sentient life became more complicated as it became clear that there were other powers at play. It really makes one question something very basic that is engrained in the very fiber of humanity - could there come a point where humans simply don't deserve to survive? Humans spend a lot of time and energy working to preserve our existence. But should it be preserved? There were a lot of twists and turns in this book that made it really interesting and engaging. It did feel ultimately like a retelling of the Pocahontas story, but I think it was done well. There were some things that I was still a little confused about at the end of the book that I wish were more thoroughly explained but it was still quite enjoyable.Grammar/Editing: Good- There were almost no issues of word misuse or misspellings. There were very few punctuation issues. There were minor grammatical issues here and there (at some points this may have been done on purpose since there were language and cultural differences between the humans and the natives). Profanity: Medium- There were a few f-bombs and uses of the word "shit." Overall, there was nothing too excessive. Violence: Heavy- There was quite a lot of explicit violence in this book with guns, spears, and blades. The descriptions are quite thorough and could be very disturbing to some people. At one point there is a battle where multiple people are tossed around, squished, and cut up so badly that organs start making appearances. Sexuality: None- There were two kisses in this book and that is it. No sexual content whatsoever.

If you go into this book thinking it's your typical Kyle Perkins or Virginia Johnson book, you are mistaken. This book is so much more, and these two have brought a level of intensity that will never cease to amaze me. Orrin is Captain of his unit and is leading the last of his race to human kinds only hope for survival, the Earth like planet of Kepler. The mission is simple, repopulate Kepler with his kind, ensuring the human race can continue on. Aya wants nothing more than to be free to do as she wishes. She wants to go on adventures, and be free to make her own decisions about her future. Unbeknownst to her, Aya has a large role to play in saving her world from the invaders , but she will need the help of a certain Captain to make everything the way she dreams.it could be.Kepler is a gut wrenchingly amazing sci-fi with twists and turns that wouldn't let me put it down. I seriously underestimated how much I was going to love this book. Orrins character development in the story is astounding, and it's refreshing to see a make character do more than just go through the motions and what is expected. Orrin showed his emotions very well, while keeping what was necessary hidden. Ayas character quite a bit of growth as well. She starts out as someone you might mistake as nieve and doesn't have a grasp on how the world really is. Throughout the book though she manages to conquer every obstacle thrown her way, even in the face of tradgedy. 5/5 stars, and I wish I could give it more.
