other in book 1. (See what I did there? Ahh!) Bobby’s been away serving his time with the National Guard in Iraq and when the book opens he’s arriving home.Do their relatives, loved ones and other acquaintances leave them to readjust to life together? Of course not! They are thrown back into life together with all the fun and mess it can bring. When that includes an impromptu visit from her ex-boyfriend and his new wife she might wish they had.Mackley expertly weaves Bobby and Trinity’s love story right into the mystery that ends up being dropped on their doorstep by way of the corn maze Trinity helps run with her cousin and his wife. She keeps you on the edge of your seat, and guessing who the guilty party is until the last possible moment ending it with a twist I never saw coming. If you love mystery and romance mingled together you have to read A Maze & Grace by Cyn Mackley. I am looking forward to book 3 in the series.

A Maze & GraceWhen Deputy Sheriff Bobby Goode returns from deployment in Iraq, he is enthusiastically greeted by his goth girlfriend, Trinity Grace. Their reunion is captured by the press on what must have been a slow news day because the picture even made it into People magazine. One consequence of the notoriety is that Trinity's old boyfriend, Marco, and his wife, Sofia, show up on their doorstep.Marco is a very narcissistic person who has no idea how hurtful his words can be. He has a fight with his wife who decides to leave in the middle of the night. Sophia's body is later found in the corn maze.I liked this book although not quite as much as the first one. One reason is that there were more errors in this book including one continuity error where a car is called a Ford Focus on one page and then a page later it's referred to as a Ford Fiesta.

DifferentIt's different. Rambles a bit. But people do that in everyday life. The characters are not ones you'd think would be a match but they fit. Shows life can be strange. I did get tangled in the story and could not quit. I did like it. And the murderer was not someone on my radar so that was pretty good 👍.

Interesting people, good story.I like the characters in this series. They are a bit quirky in a good way. I kept guessing but did not figure out who the murderer was. I will definitely read more in this series.

Great read. Beautiful romance. Excellent story. Goode and Grace are a formidable couple, and nice to know. Cyn Mackley really knew how to hold my interest -- right up to the reveal and beyond. MORE. MORE. ENCORE.

Interesting mystery - wonderful charactersTruly enjoyed the plot, although I got a little lost till I learned enough about the characters. Glad to see that "bad guys" from an earlier story show good qualities, and glad the police investigator was open-minded enough to see them.

Book 2, well doneIn the second book of the series, Cynthia Mackley picks up with Bobby coming home. Small details throughout the book are interwoven to bring the plot to fruition. The characters are interesting and multidimensional. There is an interesting plot twist at the end.

This book was heart stopping and like the first novel in the Goode-Grace series, filled with a little bit of something for everybody. Cyn Mackley has done it again! Right from the first page I was sucked back into Himmel and I didn't want to leave. Even harder to put down than American Goth (which I didn't think was possible), A Maze & Grace weaved a complicated, detailed, jaw dropping mystery that kept me engaged, and more importantly kept me guessing. In the middle of that mystery was my favorite love story, more of Bobby and Trinity being head over heels for each other in the face of incredibly difficult circumstances. It was filled with the some of the characters from American Goth that you either love or love to hate. It also introduced some new players, all perfectly crafted and so real. This book also executed one of my favorite traits in literature which is amongst all the action and romance it managed to speak truths about life. I only managed to put it down long enough to quote it on social media. There are a hundred more things I'd like to say but they're all spoilers. What I will say is if you don't pick up this book you are SERIOUSLY missing out. Much like Trinity, these books have a way of bringing you home.

Wonderful!Lovely character development without overdoing it. Flawed people in real life drama make the characters seem like you have known them all your life.
