What a great way to start the holiday season! Not only do I absolutely love reading Christmas stories and watching Hallmark Channel during this time of year....but this book also had my other favorite! SECOND CHANCES!

This is my favorite Christmas story so far this year. These two authors had me at hello with Rick. Big, strong football coach, previously NFL player, charming and great with kids. Uh, yes please. Brandy, a 44 yr old divorced mom with kids who owns her own chain of fitness gyms. I liked how these two interacted. You'll have to be patient at first. She isn't ready to date despite being divorced for 4 years and he doesn't date single moms because of his own experience with men coming and going when he was a kid. Obviously, these two have a bit of baggage, but it wasn't so bad it disrupted the story. It was more entertaining to see these two date without dating. Throw in the interactions with the kids and it's not hard to fall for this story.ARC provided by NetGalley.

****ARC provided by Riverdale Avenue Books via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.****I really very much enjoyed the writing style of Theresa Roemer. I know that this was an older woman/younger man and it seems Brandy is 8 years older than Rick, and this was mentioned in the story, but it wasn't such a focus. This book wasn't about that type of hangup that she felt unsure of herself, etc, etc. I liked that she was a strong, older woman and finally found her independence after she had been married and divorced from her husband. I really liked how Rick knew almost right away that he was probably dating from the wrong pool which were all young girls because they weren't as mature as Brandy was and how he needs someone as mature, wise, and who herself has achieved so much than younger women who still don't know what they want out of life. I loved that Rick wasn't portrayed as too much of an arrogant man who played the part of the playboy. Sure he used his flirty charms with Brandy, but he also showed a bit of vulnerability and sweetness in him that was refreshing. I do like the brooding, arrogant, strong men, but sometimes it is nice to mix it up. Also, I liked how Rick interacted with Brandy's kids in the few scenes there were to show just how instinctively great he is with kids. In other books I feel that authors really try to showcase specific characteristics of MCs that they tend to fill the book with too many scenes to show examples of this trait and I hate how I feel like that is being forced down my throat with yet ANOTHER scene when the pace of the story could be written with that scene deleted. But I also hate when authors try to hint at that characteristic, but it is so vague that I find that I question whether the character has this trait. But I feel that Theresa Roemer has laid this out perfectly with the scenes with Brandy's kids Sam and Claire without Rick having to jump up and say 'Hey, look at me, I'm great with kids!'. I actually picked up this book because one of my favorite authors, Renee Rose, had her name attached and I was expecting more of a domestic discipline type book. I was fairly surprised after finishing the book there wasn't more of that here. Half of me was definitely delighted by how the book turned out, but I have to be honest and say that the other half did want a little more spanking, though that one scene was certainly sexy. LOL! I will without a doubt be reading more books by Teresa Roemer and will be excited to read Theresa and Renee's next collaboration since it looks like this is the start of a series.

Okay so normally I start every review with a brief synopsis of the story. I can’t do that with this one. I have to start off with go get this book. Seriously. You need to add it to your collection. The story itself is wonderful and intense. It’s erotic without being over the top, it’s romantic without being sappy and it’s real without being dreary. The very basic gist is a former football player who doesn’t date women with kids finds himself VERY attracted to a women with not just one but two children and one of which is trying out for his football team. Not that the woman doesn’t have her own problems/issues she carries but the heat is too intense for much to not get burned in-between. In all seriousness though this may be the best holiday romance I’ve had the pleasure to read all season long.

A Interesting Love Story!A retired football player who became a high school coach and never imagined falling in love! Rick Morehouse was a coach who cared about his kids. Brandy Love was a divorced entrepreneur that owned a Fitness Club, and had two kids. Fate brought these two together when Rick needed a place to Rehab one of his players. Sparks fly and love seems to conquer pasts fears of relationships. A must read.

I wanted to really like this book and I actually did like it BUT…I’m kind of a stickler when it comes to fitness and healthy eating. If you’re going to have characters that talk the talk then they need to walk the walk through the book. I guess I expected to relate to the heroine more than I did. As an avid gym goer and a health food enthusiast, I expected more than a woman who served her kids “pre-packaged” foods because it was “easier”. The story had a great setup, a 45 year old business owner meets a mid-30s former NFL quarterback in her place of business. Unfortunately for me, they are insta-attracted to the point of juvenile teenage hormonal fantasy which was a little over the top considering their maturity. I like books about mature characters because they are mature and I expect them to act accordingly especially in their workplace and around others. Even though Brandy has been divorced for four years, she still doesn’t think that she’s ready to date yet and besides she’s busy expanding her business. For reasons of his own, Rick does not date women with children who could get attached to him. They go into no strings sexual relationship, some of which was quite creative and I rather enjoyed. Unfortunately, it was pounded into my head over and over that Rick does not date women with kids. It became a little tedious along with Brandy’s latest defense of why she’s not dating right now.And then there’s Coach Rick’s student, Donnie, high school football player extraordinaire. He intercepts passes for touchdowns, then he catches a pass in the wide receiver position for another touchdown, then he causes another interception and makes another touchdown, all in one half for a high school team in Houston (not a small 2A school lacking enough ball players to have a full roster on both the V & JV). This kid is channeling Deion Sanders for both offense and defense all in half of one game. What a rare, rare find. He’s a superhuman athlete not winded by playing defense every play but can play offense every play too! He should just skip college and go straight to the NFL.The more I look at the things that I did not like about this book, the more it looks like I should have given it 2 stars, but I actually liked the overall story so I gave it three despite my issues.

FOUR AND A HALF STARS!!!Scoring with Santa is a sports romance/holiday book by Renee Rose, who has written some seriously hot books in the past. It’s also co-written by Theresa Roemer, who’s real life experiences helped in the writing of this book. You take one hot ex=NFL player, now school football coach, and a divorcee with kids. She’s certainly not looking for a grand romance, and he doesn’t do divorced moms, yet somehow they decide to have a fling together, as long as it’s kept secret. But a misunderstanding may just derail their whole relationship, will love win out for Christmas? You’ll have to read it to find out! And you certainly don’t have to wait until next Christmas, it is still winter after all! Great job with this one ladies!

Brandy Love is a divorced mother of two kids who is finally doing what she has always dreamed of, owning and running a gym. Rick Morehouse is the coach of a local high school football team. He used to be a professional football player but had to stop due to an injury. They meet when Morehouse comes into her gym to help one of his players with physical therapy. Brandy doesn’t have time for a relationship and Morehouse doesn’t date women who have children. They both begin to question their rules after an encounter in the men’s locker room. But maybe they can have a fling. I mean if it’s just sex then they haven’t broken their rules right? How will things turn out between them? This book was a sweet funny romance. Brandy and Rick must reevaluate their rules when they meet each other. Their relationship is truly tested when a local vengeful columnists writes an article that insinuates some truly awful things about Morehouse. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books by these ladies. This book moved along at a nice pace. It dove right in not much preamble but it didn’t move to fast either. I wouldn’t mind reading more about Brandy and Rick in the future. This book was realistic in the issues between Brandy and her ex and why they divorced. Rick is very different from Brandy’s ex-husband. Rick has his own reasons for not wanting to date women with children. I recommend this book if you like a sweet romance with a bit of sex.I was given this book in return for an honest review.

Brandy Love is a divorced, single mom of 2 kids and business owner. She owns a gym. She is independent, smart and self-reliant. She has no time for dating between her kids, helping out her parents and her growing business. Rick Morehouse is a former major league football quarterback who now coaches high school football. He is a confident, total flirt and player, used to getting what he wants using charm and his panty melting smile. He is not looking for a relationship and doesn’t date single moms - ever. His dad left when he was very young and his mom paraded a multitude of men in and out of his life. He won’t do that to any kid. Rick and Brandy meet when he brings an injured player to her gym for some physical therapy. The chemistry and heat between these two is hot and intense and won’t be denied. They begin a no strings fling that they keep just to themselves. Neither one wants the press to discover it and scatter it all over the papers.Rick finds himself wanting to become enmeshed in her life, kids and all. He wants to be there for her, ease her burdens however he can. Brandy finds her mind wandering to what if? When a huge misunderstanding rips them apart, they must decide whether it’s worth it to work it out. Loved her group of friends. I liked that these two weren’t twenty somethings with minimal life experience. She’s 44 and he’s in his mid thirties, both secure in who they were. This is a short read that contains romance, sex and real life situations. Good start to the series. I’m interested in who is in the next book and will we continue to see these characters develop.

Brandy Love is a divorced mom of two kids, and has no time for any kind of dating, with opening her own chain of gyms. But when a Coach Charming comes into her gym, she starts to question her rule. As they see more of each other, she's finding it harder to keep him at arms length, as their attraction could set the city on fire. Rick Morehouse is a former NFL star, who now coaches a High School football team by choice. He has no problems with getting women, but he has a firm rule to never date a single mom. When he meets the beautiful owner of Phenomenal Physiques, he wants her badly, but she has kids. The more time he spends with her though, the more his rules are becoming blurry. But when a douche bag columnist starts rumors about Rick, trying to bring down his team at Playoff time, he believes that it's Brandy's fault. As he pushes her away, will she decide to fight for him anyway?I knew this was going to be a sweet story, but honestly, it was much more than that, and I devoured it in one sitting. Granted the authors had me at anything football, but it became quickly apparent that it was a highly original Christmas Story/football romance. These two authors really meshed well together, and while Rick is a bit of man whore, he has a huge heart that I melted for. The usual twists to a football player were nowhere in evidence, so this huge twist surpassed the general OMG moments, straight to hard core f-bomb dropping moments. Rick and Brandy's flammable chemistry EXPLODES into FIERY FLAMES of panty destroying sexy scene goodness, every time they are alone together, and I found myself sweating a time or two. I LOVED this story, and cannot wait to read more by these authors, so I'm HIGHLY RECOMMENDING Scoring With Santa!

Brandy Love is a single mother raising two children and is the owner of a successful gym. She notices one of the sexiest bachelors in her establishment, and though she thinks he is very attractive she does not want to think about trying to go out with him. Just the thought is okay with her for now. Rick Morehouse a high school coach and ex pro quarterback met Brandy once when she asked for him to play Santa for the charity she was hosting in a few months, but now seeing her in her workout cloths and after yoga he is wanting to be with her. When a few weeks go by Brandy is locking up for the night and she hears water in the men’s locker room, she goes in to turn it off because she pays the bills. Thinking that everyone is gone only to find Rick standing there under the water and her eyes not being able to meet his. After her needs are met and he tells her she owes him they leave and the next Saturday she reciprocates. This starts just an every Saturday night hook up. That is until he finds out that she has children and that freaks him out. Getting past that his feelings of wanting to be with is new for him but he goes about it the wrong way. She does cut him some slack and just when it looks like it is going to work out another issue comes up with the press and he does not handle that very good, even though she is working to help. See if he will still be Santa or just get coal from Brandy. A good book. I got this book from netgalley. I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

http://www.cocktailsandbooks.comI was given an advanced copy of this book to write an honest review for Netgalley and Cocktails and Books.Rick Moorehouse is a former quarterback for the Houston Texans and is now coaching a high school football team. After his football career was over, Rick had many job offers but he chose coaching at the high school level because loves working with the young boys and making a difference in their lives. Rick is rich, good looking and one of Houston's most eligible bachelors. With all his success he is still a nice, down to earth guy with a heart of gold. Brandy is a single mom and owns a popular and successful gym. Rick and Brandy meet when Rick starts working out at Brandy’s gym. Brandy declines Rick’s offer when he asks her out, even though she is attracted to him. Brandy is divorced and the mother of two and is too busy raising her kids and running her gym to have any time to date. She is happy with her life and proud of all she has accomplished. I thoroughly enjoyed this fun, light, sexy read about two people who start a no strings relationship and find they want more. The characters are entertaining and the story put me in the holiday spirit. Rick is the perfect guy. He is a big, alpha male and yet he also has a sweet and vulnerable side. Brandy’s perfectly toned body turns Rick on from the moment he first sees her. They can't keep their hands off of each other, have a lot of fun together and are surprised when they find themselves falling in love.

High School football coach Rick Morehouse would never consider a single mother for anything. Nothing. He might be regarded as a player, but he just won’t go there. So why does one of his players’ mom have to be so appealing, the delectable Brandy Love. Brandy knows Rick’s type, he might be hot beyond belief, but she has no time for love. Maybe they could have just a little fling, since their obvious sexual chemistry will not cool down.SCORING FOR SANTA is a fabulous romance! Rick and Brandy are just so gorgeous (yes, I could picture them that clearly!), they’re so good together, so nice, and they can’t keep their hands off each other. I love how the authors made the relationship progress; it was so natural, and unavoidable, but not that easy. And the sex scenes are absolutely scorching, playful, and just amazing! I seldom identify with female characters, but Brandy is exactly what I would wish to be, physically and as a person. She is strong-willed, she knows what she wants, and gets it. SCORING FOR SANTA is beautifully written, light and fresh; the dialogues are witty and fun; the characters feel entirely genuine, and fully developed; there were some great football sequences, believable high school kids. It was my first time reading a book by Theresa Roemer and Renee Rose, and I will definitely be looking for their books in the future! Fans of Lauren Blakely should check this out!

Reviewed on behalf of 2 Girls Who Love Books BlogI am really in a Christmassy mood these days, so I was really excited to read a novel with the topic of Christmas/ Santa. Add into that a single parent and all my favorites right now are in the book. I couldn’t wait to start. At first I had a hard time getting into the story. I couldn’t really connect with the characters, because the story dove right in without much pre-story or presenting the characters. What I didn’t like in the story was the fact that most of the characters seemed really superficial. Every time they talked about another it was always how good looking, ow muscular and beautiful someone was. I get that the first thing we notice are the looks, but if it doesn’t seem to get deeper than that it is just too much and I couldn’t really understand why the characters fell for each other. Well, besides the looks which is not enough to build a relationship on.The next thing that annoyed me was more in the end. When everything escalated I didn’t understand how the reporter could write something so nasty without getting severe punishment or even time in jail. What he wrote could have destroyed lives and there were no repercussions? Not really believable. All in all I really enjoyed reading the story. It had a good style and flowed. There were no plotholes or things that didn’t make sense. It was a quick short read that made my mood rise for the next days and I can’t wait for Christmas now 3,5 stars

I always love Renee Rose's books and this little holiday treat was adorable and I loved reading about a woman my age getting her freak on. He's a sexy as hell former quarterback for the Houston Texans and she's a divorced Mother of two who is 10 years older than him and the owner of a successful fitness gym. Brandy was married to a selfish man who wanted her to have no dreams of her own and to exist only to serve him and their children. She finally started thinking about what she wanted and divorced him and at the age of 40 she opened Phenomenal Physiques and now 4 years later she's getting ready to open 3 new locations. Rick Morehouse retired from pro football because of a shoulder injury and even though he had many offers he took a job coaching varsity football at the local high school. When he was younger his football coach was the only positive male role model he could depend on and he wants to do the same thing with the kids he coaches. Brandy's only focus now are her kids and her business she will never allow herself to be pushed aside by a man again. When the sexy football coach keeps coming to her gym and flirting with her she's reluctant at first but then she figures they can keep it light and just be "fuck buddies" to scratch each other's itch.

Scoring with Santa is the first collaboration between Renee Rose and Theresa Roemer as far as I am aware but it certainly seems to work well. I'm a firm fan of Renee Rose and find she write some very hot books, often with some BDSM thrown in of which I am a fan but, this one is just as hot in this collaboration which is slightly different from Renee's usual style.Brandy is a successful, single, divorced mum of two who is a bit gun-shy around dating while Rick is a former NFL player who now coaches children and who has a soft side despite having a rule never to date single mums due to his own childhood experiences. The two characters are well written despite the fact this is a short story and Renee and Theresa do well building not only the heat but the emotional side of this story in what turns into such a great Christmas read. This book is certainly worth a read, whether a fan of Renee or simply looking for something nice but with some heat to read over the festive period. This one is certainly worth the money and you won't regret sitting down to get to know these two characters.I received a ARC in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.

*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one else's*Brandy is a single mum with two kids and runs her own gym business. Family and work life keep Brandy busy which doesn't leave much time for dating. That all changes when she gets a glimpse of Rick Morehouse. Rick is a former major league quarterback; after his injury he started coaching in high school. He doesn't do relationships or date single mums but the sexy gym owner has him tied in knots. Brandy tells herself not to fall for his charm or the smile that literally makes her panties wet - bottom line, he's a player and so not for her - or is he? Rick wants Brandy, but pursuing her would mean breaking his rules. He needs to keep things professional but will he? I really enjoyed Scoring with Santa; it was funny, sexy and hot. Their interactions were entertaining, realistic and their private workouts were hot and steamy. A great Christmas read with plenty of sizzle, spark and heat.

Scoring with SantaA delightIf what you're wanting is just a spanking book don't get this one. There's no real spanking in it, just a few swats here and there. Normally I would not care for a sports book, I got it because Renee Rose is a favorite author of mine. But this one is humorous, fun and hot. Wonderfully written and kept me reading. No I wasn't able to read it all at once. I get headaches if I read too long now, about half an hour. This kept me reading until I had a full fledged one. :-) I couldn't help myself no one's fault but my own. I highly recommend this novella about 130 something pages, it gets a five from me.

COPY RECEIVED COURTESY OF NETGALLEYThis was a short, cute yet sexy Christmas story. The characters are older. Rick is about 34 and a retired NFL quarterback who coaches high school football. Brandy is 44 and owns a fitness cym. They meet when Rick brings in one of his players for rehab. The sparks fly but neither is eager to start a relationship. The agree to hookups but that soon changes. The winning point in this book for me was Rick. He was a great guy and I loved everything about him. both characters were real and believable. Nice holiday story.

Holiday RomanceCute holiday romance about a mature woman and a slightly younger man. It was nice to read a book about people in the age range of mid to late 30's to mid 40's. Neither Rick nor Brandy was interested in having a relationship. He didn't get involved with women with children. She didn't get involved period.. What started out as sex, ended up as a HEA, with both Rick and Brandy discovering something they thought they didn't need.

Good ReadThis was a pretty good read, with a fun premise, likeable characters, and some hot sex thrown in for good measure. I liked that the heroine was a mature, strong, independent woman, and that the hero wanted to take care of her without taking over, and that they took turns being "in charge" in the bedroom.
