This is the latest novella in this series I've read, and each on I rated 3-4 stars more 4's then 3. I'm not going to keep reviewing them, you can read the 1st 10 to see what I thought or you can download the first one for free on Amazon I really recommend you do that if you like witch stories or funny British humor.

Still going strongSo after 12 books, you would think there couldn't be my more mysteries for Jill to solve but you'd be wrong. Ms. Abbott continues to entertain us with her mystery, the witty banter between the characters and the star of the show, Winky the cat. My only complaint is the romance between Jill and Jack is very non existent but this isn't a romantic mystery so it doesn't take away from enjoying the books.

Another so-so story...This series is really hit and miss and this one was a miss. the plot was pretty thin, scattered, and the main character was downright nasty in spots. She is becoming more and more unlikable as this series goes on.

Another good one. This one takes place a year after #12. In this one, Jill solves the case of a girl who comes in and says her twin sister called her and warned her to be careful. However, her sister died 3 years ago. Come to find out, the twin was sleeping with her husband and when they told her she was reckless driving and died. They saw it, but instead of calling it in, the twin assumed the life of the dead twin and went on to live with her husband. Then when the husband started straying again, she went to the private investigator to try to scare him into staying with her. There are other cases going on in this story too. We find out that Jill turned down the offer to be the first level 7 witch. Instead she is a level 4 now. She is living with Jack and things are going well. She has still kept the secret that she is a witch. Mrs. V still works for her but only part time. The other part of the time, her secretary is Jules. The twins are married and still running Cuppy C. Aunt Lucy is married and still doing the same stuff she was before. Grandma is pretty much the same. Mr. Ivers works at the toll booth that Jill has to go through every day so he is still annoying her until the very end when he gets relocated because he was going to slow because he was talking too much. I think that is about all of the wrap up! Good book-- onto the next!

Overall an Excellent SeriesWhile I did enjoy reading "Witch is Why Time Stood Still", book 13 of "A Witch P.I. Mystery" series, I was slightly disappointed with this book in that it jumped past twelve months worth of events that kind of left the reader hanging . Additionally, the storyline seemed choppy, even somewhat strained. Overall a good read, but just not what I've come to expect.

Enjoyable readingJill still gets into the thick of things. Keeping her sister Kathy and her family away from her other family was a juggling act. Not anymore, they all met at Jill's housewarming party. Fun was had by all.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Fun, light cozy mysteryThis series is light-hearted &fun. Jill is a Private Investigator and a witch! This book takes place 12 months after the last one ended. Kind of odd. I could understand if nothing much happened but that isn't the case. Jill's twin cousins got married in a double wedding and Jill finally makes the decision to move in with Jack! Things we have been waiting for through many books! Fairly typical of all the other books other than that. Still enjoy this series.

I honestly did not think this would be as good as the other 12 books, but it was!So jack and Jill (went up the hill) are now living together, which Jill is finding hard to keep her "witchy secret" under wraps.Winky the talking cat is still as funny as ever..The banter is still in full force, making me "cackle" with delight. I really enjoyed reading this book, it was well written, storyline was excellent, and the characters get better as the books go on!This is most definitely worth 5 stars!#2OCCAB

The custard creams are a little staleThis series is undeniably cute and sometimes a little funny, but at 13 or so books with little in the way of character development, it is starting to pall. The light mystery included in each is usually not enough to keep one attentive. About the only reason to keep reading at this point is that several plot threads have been dangling since the early books keep you just mad enough to keep turning pages. The fact that the series is on kindle unlimited is all that is keeping it going for me.

So much better in maturity without losing the snark. This book starts 12 months after the last one, so there are a few changes that we didn't live through. That was a bit confusing at first, but made sense in the end. "Witch is why time stood still" has the usual cast of fits and misfits. Adele seems to be setting up some future plot twists that look very interesting.

5 starsReally enjoyed this book. The mystery part of the book didn't seem to take up too much in this particular book, but it was god none the less. Can't wait to see what happens with the new flat mates at Cuppy C

Great series! These mysteries are intriguing. The struggle of the main character to live in both the human & magic worlds is very entertaining. I can't help wishing for her to find a way to integrate Jack into her magic life.

Did not like the year jump between books and not much of a plot.

More of the same - seems like every time Jill turns around, she's stepping in it.

Definitely an improvement over the previous installment, but still not literary genius. I hope this new mystery has better development.
