BEYOND DUTY (Northstar Security #3) by Stanalei Fletcher is an enjoyable romantic suspense and ties up the Northstar Security trilogy on a high note.It is Riley O’Neal’s turn in the spotlight. He is a Northstar Security agent who is looking to right all wrongs and then disappear into the night. When a Senator’s wife is kidnapped and held for the ransom of a congressional vote, Riley is assigned to go undercover to the resort she was taken from. The difference this time is that he needs an undercover wife to fit in and he is used to working by himself. The woman assigned that role has deceived him on a previous mission and yet he could never forget her.U.S. Army Lt. Mary “Chip” Anderson is determined to go on this mission because the kidnapped victim is a close friend. She is shocked when the person she deceived on a mission a year ago walks into the room to pretend to be her husband. Concealing her attraction is going to be difficult as the two have to maintain close quarters and the façade of husband and wife. The exchange for the Senator’s wife is compromised and Chip is taken, also. Riley must now save both women and stop the blackmail threat.I really liked the suspense plot in this book. It was fast paced, plausible and kept you guessing. Chip is extremely strong, both mentally and physically and has learned to hide her true feelings well in a male dominated world. Riley always has to be the protector. He needs to learn to deal with a strong woman and realize that not everything is his fault when things go wrong.Although there is a lot of sexual heat going on between these two, there is no sex and that is my personal problem with this book. The back and forth bickering got a little old. I feel in a romantic suspense the romance has to be just as strong and prevalent as the suspense. Good read in every other way though and a good trilogy all around.Written for and posted first on The Romance Reviews.com.

Army Lieutenant Mary "Chip" Anderson got off on the wrong foot with private security operative Riley O'Neal. Now, posing as a married couple to save a US Senator's wife, Chip will have to suck it up and cozy up to her "husband" if they have a chance of finding her friend. Chip and Riley can't control the sparks that fly between the two of them, but with high level politicians playing both sides of the game, they don't have time to act on the attraction. This is the third book in the Northstar Security series, but the first one I've read. There's nothing TECHNICALLY wrong with BEYOND DUTY, but there's nothing incredibly new or exciting about it either. It took me a while to even get in into this story as it was super dry and Chip and Riley had zero chemistry. Maybe it's the sensitivity I have for the current political climate, but I didn't appreciate Riley blaming Chip for his inability to keep his hands off of her. She was a supposed badass in her own right, and I hated how she deferred to Riley on everything, how even though she's this 2nd degree black belt, she's the one who constantly got her ass kicked and had to be rescued. Additionally, the suspense/danger was pretty dull…it takes a special story to pull off giving us the who and why within the context of the book, and this just wasn't that story. Bottom Line: No OW/OM or sharing; no condom use (since there was no sex); no BDSM; no kink; no sexual assault; no murder, some violence.

This is the first book I read by Ms Fletcher and it sure will not be the last. Though it’s book 3 of her series, Northstar Security, know that it’s a standalone. This story centers around Riley O’Neal, one of the agents of Northstar Star Security, and Lt Chip Mary Anderson. They are recruited to act as newlyweds, in order to retrieve the kidnapped wife of a senator. They had met a year ago, neither knowing the true identity of the other. There is immediate chemistry between them but they both are fighting it.What I liked best of the book was that it had suspense, undercover work, chemistry between the main characters, a plausible plot, complex characters dealing with their own internal conflicts and great descriptions of the American Southwest. A worthwhile book to get .I received this book from Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This book has been great. Even though it was kinda a given that the people that turned out to be involved. Mary was a soldier through and through and when she met Riley doing undercover work she never thought she would see him again and the feeling for him would just gtow..Riley also hado issues to get over with and letting his heart open up to love. One thing led to another and the more danger they were in the feelings got stronger.

Keeps us guessing! I enjoyed the character interactions and the way the plot kept us on our toes trying to figure out who was behind everything, whether they would get them out safely, and whether there would be a future relationship to come out of it all!Northstar Security agent Riley O'Neal isn't happy about posing as someone's husband in an undercover operation, but when he finds out it's with the woman he hasn't been able to get off his mind for the last year, he's willing to take his chance!US Army Lt Mary "Chip" Anderson is gung ho to help catch the enemy because she has a vested interest in the outcome. Working closely with a man she has an attraction for isn't ideal, but she'll be able to handle it!When Chip is kidnapped in a botched rescue attempt of the hostage, will Riley be able to keep his cool and get her back before time runs out?

Who else loves Romantic Suspense stories? Are you looking for a FABULOUS romantic suspense story with a whole lot of heart pounding, breath taking drama filled story? Grab Stanalei Feltcher's Beyond Duty and pick up her previous books while your shopping. They are all wonderful reads and each one has became my favorite book of her's when I finish. Riley O’Neal is a great agent. He has done plenty of undercover work before but nothing like the assignment he has just been given. Maybe I should say never in a situation like the one he enters into with his new assigned partner. Riley is handsome, brave, intelligent, and creative. If I was in trouble I sure would not mind having this guy in my corner. U.S. Army Lt. Mary “Chip” Anderson is a lady I would want in my corner too. She is smart, caring, strong, independent, and knows how to kick butt. This girl can take down just about anyone before they even know their in her cross hairs. It didn't take me long to know I'd like to be friends with this lady. She's pretty awesome. Chip isn't all the keen on having been assigned Riley as her partner either. They are about to head out on a mission that is very dear to Chip's heart so she is willing to accept whatever help she needs to get the job done.Riley and Chip work well together. There is plenty of heated attraction between them. There is also a friendship forming quickly while they are in one dangerous situation after another. I don't want to tell you too much about the dramatic scenes in the book. I want you to expense that intense heart pounding feeling for yourself. I know that once I started this book I had a REALLY hard time putting it down. Ms. Fletcher has a way with a story let me tell you. I adore this lady's work. She has created a phenomenal story line with great characters that quickly became friends. I cheered for their victories, feared for their lives a few times, and let out a sigh of relief when after each major drama.Beyond Duty is part of the Northstar Security Series. Don't worry if you haven't had a chance to read the previous books yet. Each book stands on it's own just fine. I enjoyed each one though so I'd grab up the whole set and settle in for some stupendous reading. I was given the opportunity to read this great story and it has been my pleasure to share my thoughts with you.

Book Review Blog: http://www.goodbookswithtea.blogspot.comBeyond Duty is a standalone despite being the third book in the North Star Security series. This book is heavy on the "Secret Agent" aspect. It's all about deceit, finding a kidnapper, and keeping things platonic between Chip and Riley.Chip is a very strong female character. I'm always looking for a character like her in the books I read, so I was pleased to find she's a huge part of this story. The beauty of powerful women is often overlooked, so I feel a I must also give the author "props" for pulling that off.Riley, likewise, is a strong male character. Both are agents assigned to portray a married couple in order to complete their mission.Their mission being to find a kidnapping victim/Chip's personal friend. As things get more and more intense, real feelings of romance between the pair start to surface.Given the situation, I feel the author did a fantastic job of keeping the stressful situation light for the reader by adding tasteful lines of humor throughout the text.Although humor is not a main category for this book, it is in there. As a whole, this romance/suspense novel is pretty well done. I would have liked more romance, but what is not said is made up for by actions that clearly express Chip and Riley's romantic feelings without the need for sexual intimacy. The writing style is engaging, making this a relatively fast read for fans of romantic suspense.4.5 stars.Book Review Blog: http://www.goodbookswithtea.blogspot.com

Received an ARC for my fair review for reading deals. This book was entertaining. We have Riley O’Neal’s he is a Northstar Security agent. He has to go undercover when a Senator’s wife is kidnapped and held for the ransom of a congressional vote. He has to pose as a married couple with a previous love interest who had deceived him before. Mary "Chip" as she is known, makes sure she is included in this assignment because it is a friend of hers, but receives the shock of her life, when her companion is none other that someone she had deceived, making things difficult, since they are both determined not to show they are still attracted to each other. She ends up also being captured and now Riley has two women to save

Breaking the Honor Code (Northstar Security Series Book 4) is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. The author has written an exciting, thrill-packed adventure that kept me turning the pages well into the dark of night. Even though this book is part of a series, you don’t need to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one.The main characters are multi-dimensional with intriguing depths. Their rocky path to love from beginning awareness of each other and blossoming romance was heartwarming. Through skilled word use, Ms. Fletcher creates such vivid images of winter in the woods I felt I was there. I strongly recommend Breaking the Honor Code to anyone who enjoys edge-of-your-seat suspense, lots of action, and strong, powerful characters. Well done, Ms. Fletcher

Wow. I am not sure what to say. I picked up this book and only stopped for thr night because my kindle died. I was mad. Chip is a great, strong, and wonderful female character. This book had so.much going on that I was never bored yet never overloaded. For me it was a perfect balance. The plot was easy for me to follow and for me to feel like I was there. This book is part of a series but can definitely be read as a stand alone book. This book was one of my favorites for this year. Well done. So glad I was honored with the opportunity to read such a fantastic book. I read this book for reading alley in exchange for an honest review.
