I needed a book to meet a couple of challenges, because I'm all about multi-tasking in my old age. So I found one that I thought would get me multiple-people-on-the cover and also a beauty-and-the-beast theme. What I got instead was one hot mess.Three sets of twins, Norse berserker warriors, all of them, with powers ranging from shapeshifting to magic to premonition. Odin and Freya make appearances, as do multiple references to classic Norse mythology.Except...this is still one hot mess. Somehow ménage-a-trois with identical twins, mating with Valkyries, and shapeshifting dragons got thrown in here. I was waiting for the kitchen sink, but that didn't appear. I don't think I'll pursue any more in this series.

My Rating: ★★★½ Book Description:Jakob left his pack a hundred years before…to escape his controlling twin. He finally comes home, along with the mate he’s found along the way. Jakob knows having claimed her without Joran may tear their already tempestuous relationship apart, but in order to keep his new mate safe, there is no better place than with his family.Joran has awaited the day his younger twin would walk through the front door. Seeing Jakob mated, Joran realizes his chance at happiness has been stolen from him. Yet he still feels the incredible pull of the beautiful Kara, even if she can’t be his. His steel-willed control falters for the first time in eons.Kara is in the middle of this tug of war, her head already a whirlwind from leaving her life behind. Will she be the bridge to bring them together, or rip them further apart? My Thoughts:This book was the completion to the story started in Going Berserk. In it we find out more about Jakob's complicated relationship with his twin brother Joran. Jakob is essential the "wild-man" and Joran is the epitome of staunch control or so we think.............enter Kara............and Joran's control is blown to smithereens. I appreciated the simplicity of the story. There was a bad-guy "Frejya" who sought to destroy the Berserkers because of Odin, their god and protector. The relationship between Frejya and Odin is complicated because it truly is a love/hate one. Odin loves Frejya but she is the "scorned woman" or goddess as it were because of his infidelities. I enjoyed the Norse mythological aspects of the book as much as I enjoyed watching the triad relationship develop between Joran, Jakob, and Kara. They story elements were interesting and the pacing was even and it made for a fairly quick but enjoyable read.Reading Time: approximate: 1.5 Hours

It wasn't a bad story, but it also wasn't a great story.
