**** 4 "Always" Stars **** This is a best friends to lovers book with a surprising good thriller twist. I will admit this book surprised me and I enjoyed this one very much.Sam, a struggling musician, has fallen in love with her best friend Sid, a retired Navy Seal, turned security agent. She has no idea when her feelings changed but they have and she is not able to hide them after a night of a few drinks, a little pool and finding out he has a date with another gal. Leaving in a storm of anger, Sam runs home. She needs to get away from the man that has her heart twisted. Sid follows her and asks what the hell is going on. She blurts everything in the heat of anger. Her words leave Sid shocked, leading him to crash into for a night of passion. Their passion is short lived when Sid steps away and regret consumes him. Their dynamics change that night and Sam leaves her friendship behind for a while. Her feelings never leave her heart but she must move on from Sid and his rejection. Life takes an unexpected turn, and Sam is tossed into the middle of a dangerous ordeal that puts her life in danger. She is rescued by her brother Travis and Sid. Their security agency steps and protects Sam from the danger she has been tossed into. Sid sees this as his change to get back the woman and best friend he has loved from day one but never acted on his feelings. Protecting her is his number job and making her understand that the past rejection had nothing to do with her, it was him and the issues he had with himself. They reconnect during a time of danger and are absolutely the cutest couple I have read in a very long time."He pulled me so tight against him, I wasn't sure where I ended and he began."Megan O'Brien did a fabulous job writing a sweet story with a side of thriller, suspense that was the perfect story to really enjoy.I am excited to read the rest of the books in this series!! All these men of the "Talon Security Team" are SUPER HOT!!!

Okay- I decided to go back and finish this. I liked it more after the half way point. Still, I stand by my original review. Though, I will add that I like the men of Talon. I loved seeing Ryker & Piper from the motorcycle series, and I enjoyed Caden, Danika, and Sarah.I also appreciated the fact that this story was not over whelmed, or completely led by, sex. Thank you to the author for that! I love real content in my stories.DNF @ 43%I couldn't feel a connection to the couple, nor could I feel any emotional connection to the story line. I felt like the couple was younger than portrayed- and I never felt the seriousness of what was going on. Nor did I feel any sympathy for the H/h during their issues at the beginning, and most importantly- I have a hard time reading books that are written in past tense. Pretty much every action word ended with an 'ed'. Past tense - as the scene is taking place or something is happening right then- drives me nuts! Big pet peeve.

A less interesting version of Laura Kaye's Hard Ink series, with Kristen Ashley (ish) characters. I struggled to finish, but that is because I was bored silly not because it was bad writing.

Why do I always think it's a wise idea to start a book at 12am?! Totally worth the lack of sleep though.4.5stars I really enjoyed this story, the characters and everything else that came along with it.Sam is a very enjoyable and relatable character. after being a friend Sid for many years she just couldn't keep up the pretence of their "friendship" when she knew she was in love with him. She didn't choose it nor can she tell you exactly when it turned from your an idiot but I love you as my idiot friend to the starry eyed butterfly's in the stomach secret crush/more than a friend loving. I wasn't Sid's friend in the beginning I'm not going to lie. He didn't do anything drastically horrid nor was he a total basterd. Yet the circumstances around what happened just peeved me. But moving past that.. wow he is just yummy. When things come to ahead with them in the beginning it's not for a while until they reconnect properly and not on the greatest of circumstances either. But once it happens... holy shit Sparta are flying. The characters give the same vibe as the ride series but with their own unique twist including the fact that they are all certified badasses. Story was great and flowed seamlessly. With lots of ups and downs it's fair to say it has you on a rollercoaster of emotions without being to angsty and negative. Also the ending is totally on point and super sugary sweet. Why not 5 stars? Well it's just little things here and there that nit picked at me and even though I loved Sid I kinda wanted a little more about him?! But that's all little things because all round I loved the book. Can't wait for travis's book next.

Samantha McAllister didn't expect for her best friend and secret crush, Sid Masters to find out that she was in love with him. When he did, he walked away and broke her in a way no other could. Now Sid is back and he has plans to make Sam is own, however she is not buying the sudden change of heart. Sid plans to prove to her he is serious, but Sam has found herself in danger with the Russian Mafia unknowingly. Sid plans to protect Sam but as the danger heats up everything else does as well.Excellent read. I can't wait for the next book, filled with intriguing characters, all of who I hope there are books for. I loved Sid and Samantha, Sid I don't think realized the gravity of what he did with walking away. Sam is trying to move on but Sid is determined to keep them together. Another brilliant read from Megan O'Brien.

It was just okay. Predictable with no surprises. I didn't feel a lot of chemistry between the major characters. Leaning towards two stars but since I've been in a reading slump lately I'm going to give it 3 stars. It had to potential to be more but didn't quite rise to the level that prevented a little boredom while reading.

3.75 stars. A quick read that I enjoyed. I love a good old romantic suspense/damsel in distress read and I got that here. However, I think the book would have benefited from a dual POV, even if we only got a few chapters from Sid's POV.

The book was okay I like the security ex military aspect, Sid sounded like he was badass but at the same time kinda cheesy. Sam was great she didnt overthink it and it was quick which was awesome straight to the point. The ending was super awesome and can't wait to hear travis story.

A lot of eye action 3.5*In spite of the H being a tough alpha man, boy did his eyes soften & warm - A LOT - in just about every chapter. But once you get past that, it's not that bad. I did however appreciate the fact that the whole book wasn't all about the tug of war of yes we want to be together, but no we don't, although maybe we do. That was settled pretty early on, and then we just got to see them navigate being in a relationship, very refreshing. I liked how they handled the whole "oops no condom" situation. The conflict was not very original or inventive, in fact it was predictable, but not to the point where it killed the book. If you haven't read any other books by this author like myself, you may find the lack of character background kind of annoying, especially when the story reads like we should already know who these people. I kind of wish this was a KU book, not sure I will read any more of the series.

Love this book also by Megan O'Brien. You meet Sam in the Ride series (Which I have also done reviews on so if you haven't read those yet please check those out) Sam is in love with Sid and has tried to catch his eye for what seems like forever. What started out as friendship for her has turned into something else. She could have sworn a few different times that Sid felt the same way yet when she decides to make her move he pushes her away. Deciding she can't deal with living with him and dealing with her feelings while also living with him she decides it's time she moves out. Little does she know Sid does have feeling for her just doesn't feel as if he's good enough for her. Once she's in danger though and Sid knows he's the only one who can protect her will that change things? Good Good read. With steamy and some suspenseful moments all wrapped up in one package!

This book is excellent, great story, clever writing and lots of funny laugh out loud moments. When i started the book I hadn't read any blurb so i didn't realize it was about two best friends, Sam and Sid, Sam falls in love with Sid and he appears not to feel the same way. Normally i do not read these books because i don't like this type of story line but i love Megan O'Brein's other books so i read it anyway. If you haven't read the author's other books i recommend you read The Ride Series, certainly as far as Ryker as the characters from these books make an appearance, its not essential as there is a brief back story explanation but i think it will make it better. Its great to find out how things are progressing in Piper and Rykers story too.The book starts with the prologue where Sam and Sid have a falling out when she expresses how she feels and he hurts her, then the first chapter starts 6 months later, i thought this was an excellent idea as its not a quick fix to their issues but they have had time to work through what happened or at least try to.I said earlier i usually don't like this type of story-line and one of the reasons is usually the whole story is the angst of will they won't they and the push and pull of the relationship usually with one person making themselves vulnerable and the other hurting them until they change their mind but this story isn't like that. They have 6 months apart Sam finds herself in danger and Sid works for a security firm with Sam's brother so they want to make sure she's safe. I liked the way this is handled Sid had to work to show he loves Sam but they do get together quite quickly but it isn't really insta-love as they have so much history.Sid is amazing, so swoon worthy he has sorted himself out and is not afraid to express how he feels. But also Sam is no push over she has her issues but she has some self defense skills and knows how to stick up for herself when needed. You also don't get the stereo-typical her brother is furious his best friend loves his sister, which was refreshing. This is the first book in the series so we are introduced to lots of other characters, friends and work mates and potential new story lines. There is also Brad an extra character who is funny and adds a little extra to the story. So in summary i loved it, funny, clever and believable. Look forward to reading about Theo, Declan, Trent, Travis, Sarah and Trixie...I just did a reread and I still love it.

FABULOUS## FABULOUS read. I adored Sam & Sid. I loved that Sam wasn't the typical doormat heroine and that she told Sid how much he hurt her. They straightened things out pretty quickly (by 70%) and I kind of missed the anticipation for the rest of the story, although it is incredibly sweet. Very well written and a small peak into the Ride series, which was also fantastic. Can't wait to read Travis' story.

Crave by Megan O'Brien is the first book of the Talon Security Series and is a spin off from book 4 in O'Brien's Ride Series, Ryker.I enjoy O'Brien's style of writing. The storylines are suspenseful and the characters are alluring with a strong supporting cast of characters that provide entertainment, humor and intrigue. And Crave followed suit successfully!Sid Masters and Samantha "Sam" McCallister have been best friends among a tight group of four friends/roommates since college. They've both crushed on each other for years without the other's knowledge. Until one night that changed everything. Heartbroken, Sam moves out within twenty four hours and sets herself on a new course that excludes Sid.When danger is brought to Sam's doorstep, Talon Security, Sam's brother's firm/Sid's employer, steps in to protect and investigate, throwing Sid and Sam together again. O'Brien takes us through the saga with drama, suspense and intrigue with Sam and Sid's relationship as the backdrop and foundation of the storyline.I liked both Sid and Samantha. They are both gorgeous, sexy and smart. I also liked them together; however, I didn't feel a strong connection between the two. I sensed it was there just below the surface but I desired to feel more. One of my favorite parts of the book were the employees of Talon Security. The characters were big, bold, funny and a great canvas for the rest of the series. O'Brien successfully began developing each character and I hope to see each one further developed throughout the series until their story is revealed. All in all, Crave was a great start to a new series. The sexy, gorgeous, protective and strong Travis, Sam's brother, is next up in Claim. Bring it on!

Wonderful first book in a spinoff series. First, you don't have to read the Knights MC series in order to understand anything in this book. It would add a little in the transition but it's not necessary. I loved the MC series though and definitely recommend it. Now, on to Crave. I like the mixture of people and careers and backgrounds all intersecting with each other. My absolute favorite character...Trixie the chihuahua! I actually would have liked to see more antics involving her. But I guess having hawt sexy men every which way you turn makes up for that oversight. The two main characters have known each other along time, first as friends and band mates, then as true loves fighting their desires, and finally as two people who admit their love for each other, open up and share parts of themselves they've locked away and begin to heal. While all the emotional business is getting done, Samantha is attacked by unknown men and a series of events brings her brother's security company into the picture, specifically the love of her life, Sid. There is a HEA, no cliffhanger. Some physical violence and death but no rape or torture. Also, no cheating!

This is a spin-off series. Sam and Sid and another guy are in a band together they do for fun. They met Piper in college and have kept in contact with her and we met these guys in Ryker. Also, they have become friends with the Knights. They all live in the same house but Sid works for Sam's older brother who has a Securrity company. Sid and Sam have liked each other for a long time they tip-toe around each other. One night it comes to head and things go from friendship to something more but Sid, he gets cold feet and he walks out of the appartment. Sam moves out of the house that night and doesn't come back. After 6 months (I think) Sam is at home when people brake into her house. It is the mafa and when they go Sam calls her brother who calls Sid. Sid will do whatever he has to do to protect Sam and he will do it with her fighting him. She is also going to move in with him so he can protect her weather she likes it or not. This is a great spin-off book and a great start to a new series. I can't wait to to read about the other is the Talon Security.

I really liked the book overall, Samantha and Sid were cute together but I felt like something was missing between them. They were best friends who lived together, she's always been in love with him, and one night they decide to have sex and he leaves instead. She moves out and they don't talk for six months. When he comes back, Sam finds herself in a life threatening situation and he's the one protecting her. From there they finally get together and reveal their true feelings for one another. Sam and Sid had great chemistry and love each other. I loved the whole Talon Security team, lead by her brother Travis, where Sid also works they were a great group of guys. I loved that they were connected to the Knight's MC through Piper. Can't wait for the next book.

Perfect blend of everything! This was a perfect blend of every thing I was looking for! Sam Best friends with her brothers best friend Sid for many years now but her feelings for him have changed! She wants more! She wants it all! And when she thinks she might just get it, he pulls back and it hurts her to the core! BOOM! Friendships are tested and months pass! When Sam's life is put in danger Sid must finally face the fact that he either suck it up and claim her or let her go! This book is full of new love, friendship, kidnapping by Russian mob men, stolen diamonds, sexual tension, white banter and second chances! It's an amazing start to a great series! This was my first book by this author and I've already one clicked her Ride series! I can't wait for more!

Holy WowOkay I love, love, love this author and the ride series was phenomenal. I enjoyed seeing everyone from the Knights make an appearance and totally enjoyed that we got to read about Pipe's wedding. Sam and Sid, that is just fireworks waiting to explode. I love this new series with Talon securities. It was great to meet all the new characters. I see this series becoming a new fave. I did suspect the traitor though but enjoyed where the author took the story. I loved the vulnerability of Sam but also how when push came to shove she was stronger than even she knew. I also enjoyed how she made Sid a strong Alpha but still affected by human emotions when Sam was in trouble. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

3.25+RATING- I'm a sucker for a damsel in distress coupled with a security/military hero. So this book was overall a good read for me. I think it would have rated higher though if it was told with alternating POV instead of just from the heroines. I look forward to reading more of the series.Note: At the time this review was posted, this book was available to borrow through Amazon's Kindle Unlimited program. To see other books available to borrow through Kindle Unlimited or SCRIBD, check out the Subscription Addiction group

I was given this book for an honest review So here goes. I fell in love with Megan O'Brian's writing style through her MC series. In saying that what I like the most about her books is that they are well written. The characters are solid and storylines credible and last but never least, her leading men are Alphas. So without giving anything away do yourself a favour and have a read you won't be disappointed. Also Megan if you're reading this hurry up I'm waiting for my next 5 star read ...... No pressure lol
