Michael's Mystery (Nations of Peace, #3) Reviews
This was a book that was very different for me. I haven't really ever read a story with that much erotica in it. It was definitely something new to me, but sexual content has never made me feel weird. But if you feel discomfort at all about detailed sexual acts, this is not the book for you. There is also a scene where rape is described, so if this could be a trigger for you, this is also probably not a good choice. This was book was really interesting to read. I had never heard of the series before, so I had no clue what I was getting into. The aspect of fantasy that was included what was caught my interest. The storyline wasn't typical, (at least from what I know about fantasy, I don't know about fantasy erotica). The surprises that were meant to come out at the end, slowly revealed themselves, instead of being dropped like a bomb, which I enjoyed. The story is an easy read, I read it all in one day. The flow is natural. The book does switch viewpoints at some points, and to avoid confusion I feel like that should be clarified somehow, other than being slightly startled when we start seeing things from someone else's perspective. Eventually it turns to being from only one person's perspective, but it jumps before that. I felt like at the climax it was a bit rushed, and a little too sudden. It was unexpected, but it felt a little forced, like the author was trying to finish it quickly for some reason. The detail, in all parts, was wonderful, and really did create a vivid image in your mind. The scenery was distinct and descriptive, the characters easy to visualize, and the sexual scenes were accurately and vividly described. The way that the connection between characters was beautifully stated, and made me want to share the descriptions with my boyfriend just because they were so well done. The end felt a bit awkward to me, and left me wanting for me, and feeling like something was missing. I can't tell if the story of Michael and Andesine is going to be continued or not. I feel like there was a closure there, but something in me feels like there are still questions. Overall, not a bad right. It definitely was a fairly good book for me to review for my first erotica novel, and although I'm unsure if I'll read it again, people who enjoy fantasy erotica will probably enjoy this. Rating: 3.5/5
A Grandmaster has been accused of deliberately sending his own people to their deaths in order to achieve a heinous end. Michael has been dispatched to the Grandmaster’s planet to investigate. There he is paired up with a Healer, Andesine , for whom he feels an almost instant attraction. While it obvious that she feels the same way, there are too many secrets between them. However their adventure is just beginning and it will lead to places neither of them can anticipate. This is one of the best books I have read in a while. When I began reading this book, I had no idea that this was part of a series. It did seem at times that I was missing something, however the story managed to stand alone and was quite entertaining. The love story was beautiful if a bit predictable and the insights into the High lords really gave the story needed layers. This Story has Dragons, Magic Users, Healers and High Lords, terrific fantasy elements used well. However, I do think the erotica was a bit over the top. Loves scenes between the main characters would have been better without the crude erotica specific terminology used by the author. It was a biting contrast to the term “sharing pleasures” used throughout the book.Overall this was worth a couple hours of Intense reading. I am looking forward to hunting down the rest of the series to play catch up. Note: This is an adult novel with explicit sex and rape scenes.I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review
I started this book with a lot of curiosity because fantasy is one of my favorite genres, but it leads me to disappointment. From the beginning I got confused with so many characters and the plot was also not clear but after few chapters I feel a little connected to the story. I love the concepts of magic, dragons, healers, guardians and warriors put in the story. Such unique concepts led me to another world, where I was visualizing different dragons. I felt the characters are strong but the story-line was weak. I felt the sparkle between the main protagonists. Some chapters are beautifully written but this book also didn’t justify its name; till the end I didn’t understand what Michael’s mystery is.Linze Brandon is an emerging author. I loved her writing style in this book. I wish to read some amazing books from her.I will give this book 3 out of 5 rating due to the author’s strong concepts in story and some beautifully written chapters. I will recommend it to all fantasy and lick-it genre fans.
Michael's Mystery is completely a different book which I got to read this time around because of the blog tours hosted by book reviews team .Michael's Mystery by Linze Brandon is all about super powers, dragons , magic , murder and investigation done to save the human beings from being killed .The book is all about Michael investigation with Anadesine a pretty lady who has the healing powers and their love story .But before their love story begins , Michael starts interviewing the victims only to find things go dicey with him.All in all , I could feel the pinch of heavenly war-fare in this book .Michael's Mystery is fun book to read . As the author has pictured the characters , their emotions and situations very well .Recommended Read to all I received the ARC copy from the author herself via b00kr3vi3wtours.blogspot.in
I liked the style of writing which sits well. There were concepts that felt interesting, but still got lost in a lot of characters that came in quickly and left no impression on me. To be quite frank, this wasn’t a book that I enjoyed reading. But it has the elements and characters that could still appeal to other readers who love the genre of fantasy.
