An Elusive Groom Reviews
3.5Review: I thought this was a cute story. It was well written and the characters were likable. Tina has been chasing Aubrey for a long time wanting to marry him. Her theory is if she is constantly around when he does finally decide to marry she will be there. I personally don’t like stories where the girl is doing all the chasing, especially when the guy shows little interest and has made it clear he doesn’t want her. Makes her seem a little pathetic. I liked Tina though, she was a good character. I liked Aubrey as well, I think the only reason he didn’t marry sooner was because she was so forward with him. I’m betting if she had just played it cool from the beginning they would have married earlier. It took over 200 pages for Tina to come to her senses, I was hoping she would realize things earlier and then we could see Aubrey try and win her back. As it was, he realizes his mistake, but by then the book is almost over and there is very little wooing. I still wonder if he realized he loved her, or if it was just the competition/jealousy that brought him around. Anyway, it was a well written story and I liked the characters. I think this was part of a series (doesn’t need to be read in order), there were three previous books where those characters showed up in this one. I’ll have to track down those books.Content: Clean, one kissing scene that goes a little PG. Some swearing. Christina (Tina) is over the top with her infatuation with Lord Aubrey and she doesn't care who knows it. She seriously needs to read "He's just not that into you" and pull herself together. Stop throwing yourself at this pompous lord who just expects you to always be there. Aubrey is a nice guy who just doesn't want to be married and realizes he's in love when she welcomes attentions from another man. Overall, it is a cute story, I just wish Tina had some backbone, instead of being a lovesick girl.
