DNF @ 27%. I couldn't get any further. It seemed as though it had good potential, but some things happened that I couldn't see myself getting past. The H was so hot and cold with the h, and she was a doormat and allowed him to do it. What broke the camel's back for me was...(view spoiler)[ h almost sleeps with H (she's completely naked, he's almost there) but then they get interrupted by her brother and H takes off. She then finds out that H slept with OW days after they almost did when she sees OW doing the walk of shame from his house. She then goes to him after she's "done" for some self-defense lessons, but the minute he shows interest sexually she jumps right to it and is eager to be with him.(hide spoiler)] I just couldn't do it. I want my h's to have some backbone, and if this was the way it was @27%, I couldn't see it getting much better...sorry.

Great book! I couldn't put this book down! I love a good forbidden romance! Brad was a perfect, protective alpha male. It came in handy when dealing with Sophie's abusive ex-boyfriend. It was good to see Sophie's resistance to his alpha characteristics, though. She most certainly wasn't going to play the submissive part any longer, and I loved that about her! The sex between them was hot, too! The uncovering of their romance definitely brought a good dose of drama. Sophie's bother's reaction was a good one! I definitely enjoyed this book, and am looking forward to reading more of this author's work!

I RECEIVED THIS BOOK FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW AS A REVIEWER FOR BLOGGIN’ WITH M. BRENNAN.3.5 starsI feel that I should start by saying that for me, this book has been quite tricky to review. I should probably now try to explain why that was. I'll be honest, I wanted to read this book cause the blurb made it seem as though it was going to an easy read and I think sometimes you just need that. A book that's a wee bit predictable but isn't likely to pull your heart out and make you look at it. What I didn't expect though, was a complete disconnect from the entire thing. The book got zero reaction from me other than a mild annoyance at the characters. I'm the type of person that can cry at the drop of a hat so this was surprising cause there were some emotive topics covered, some of which hit very close to home. Sophie is the 'good girl' and I'm going to use that term loosely cause her conduct was often more so that of a complete spoiled brat. She honestly swung between brat and doormat and there wasn't much in between. I get that not all book characters can be the strong take no nonsense type but her behaviour really did bug me. She treated those around her quite horribly at times, and blew up about the totally wrong things. There were moments however when she seemed to redeem herself but honestly there wasn't near enough good to outweigh the bad of her horrible attitude. Although with a big brother like she had its honestly no wonder she didn't turn out even worse. Brad is the brothers 'best friend' which says quite a bit straight away since the brother was honestly just a horrible person with zero redeeming qualities. Brad himself did make more than bad impression as the title suggests. Rather than being an alpha he just came across as egotistical without much to back it up. Although he certainly didn't seem choosy about where he dipped his wick and managed to mess things up for himself more than once. The supporting characters bugged me too, there was honestly not one who wasn't just out for themselves except maybe Brads mum but she was nothing more than a bit part. I will say though, at times it seemed as though the author was trying to make them flawed but just made them too much so. I dislike characters who smoke, that is a personal preference of mine and something I do tend to notice probably more than others. The same with cheating, even the slightest mention of cheating is enough to put me off, and this book does mention it, more than once. (I don't usually say anything that may be a spoiler but know its a hot button topic for more than just me, so will say there is no cheating between the main characters, it really is just something mentioned to have happened in the past but does have a knock on effect for events in the book)The story itself was fairly well done, although there maybe didn't have to be quite so many sub-plots, the ones that were there didn't take away from the main story, although going from one person with obvious anger issues to another is probably not the wisest decision ever. This is the first time I've read anything by this author but it certainly wouldn't stop me from trying something else she'd written as it could well be that I just didn't get this cast. I would say though that if you are looking for something fairly easy to read, not too taxing then give it a shot, this review is merely my opinion of the book and is certainly not intended to put anyone off reading it but overall the book was really just okay.

You do not date your best mate’s little sister – it usually only ends in tears and possibly a broken nose! But Sophie Clinton can’t forget the one night she had with her bothers BFF, and even though it was a few years ago, now she is back in town she can’t help but reminisce and reliving that night is pretty high on her list of things she wouldn’t mind doing all over again.Brad doesn’t do relationships, but with Sophie he always felt like there could have been more, if it hadn’t been for the fact she was Ollie’s sister. All the time she had been away he has never forgotten her but he hasn’t exactly let the grass grow under his feet either.Sophie’s life away from the town hasn’t ended well, the guy she was in a relationship with ended up being a bully and very abusive and now that she is free of him, she just wants to make sure that she leaves him exactly where he should be, in her past but that means keeping the details about what happened to herself.Landing herself a job in the local bookstore, Sophie is finally finding her feet, she knows that Brad’s mum owns the store and that she has always had a hankering that they would get together but what is done is done and a Sophie needs to work. I liked the fact that Brad was as keen as Sophie to pick up where their one light left off, that he was mindful of Ollie but his restraint was tested and it wasn’t easy on anyone. When he finally got the message that Sophie was thinking along the same wavelength as he was, there was no stopping them and once they got into a full on relationship the sparks flew.Sophie was honest enough to let Brad in on what was going on with her ex but she made a mistake in not telling her brother because when he showed up in town it was Ollie that unwittingly put Sophie in danger.Brad was frantic when he cottoned on to what had happened and despite the fact that he knew that Sophie was able to take care of herself now – he had shown her what to do if she was ever in a vulnerable situation, he still knew that the woman he loved was in danger and that had every testosterone filled cell in his body screaming at him to find her and keep her safe.I loved the connection between them and the fact that the story was sincere. They had a past and were true to it but they did not dismiss the events that had taken place since then. It was refreshing to see the honesty between them and the fact that Sophie was prepared to open up to Brad and let him share the pain that had brought her back. I understood is anger but it was her fight and they didn’t need to start afresh with the past coming between them.A great story, one that I fully enjoyed.

(Amazon blurb)This is the second novel that I've had the chance to read from Franca Storm and quite frankly, I was not disappointed - it was intriguing, breathtaking and suspenseful at just the right moments. Her characters, Brad and Sophie are intense together, made for one another albeit their past history and you'd swear you could feel the steam coming off the screen of your kindle (or your ipad) from their need to be with one another. The dominant and protective side of Brad's sent goosebumps running up my arms considering it was exactly Sophie needed after her disastrous relationship with her ex. Franca Storm's Revive Me Novel (Bad Impressions) proves that she still has that touch and the capacity to bring to life all our desires but that nightmares are just around the corner. It is a highly recommended alpha read!. **Received a copy in exchange for an honest review. Read and reviewed by Kathleen for Alpha Book Club**

I really enjoyed Brad and Sophie's story. This book is about the best friend falling for his best friend's sister and all the obstacles and drama involved with the relationship. A year ago Sophie and Brad get together, but Brad realized a little too late that she is too good for him and their small town so he doesn't contact her afterward, which in turn makes her feel like another notch on his bedpost. Brad was her first and his actions broke her heart severely. She ended up going back to her boyfriend and that was not the best idea she ever had. Her boyfriend ends up abusing her and she comes back home to get away from him and to feel safe again but she can't let anyone know of the abuse. Of course she runs into Brad again and tries to steer clear of him but that seems to be easier said than done. Brad had a rough childhood and ended up doing something to protect his mom but it makes him feel like he would do nothing but bring darkness to Sophie's life. He knows she's better off without him but he eventually can't fight the pull that they both feel towards each other and they decide to get involved but there is one huge hurdle in the form of her brother Ollie. Ollie and Brad have grown apart in the past year. Ollie thinks Brad is nothing but a man whore and that he can't ever commit to one person for long. This leaves Sophie questioning everything. What happens when her brother finds out about Brad and Sophie? What scheme does Ollie come up with to break them apart? Will it put her in danger? Will they be able to deal with the fall out of Ollie and his anger? Will they end up stronger or would it be best to just give up?This was a quick, sexy, enjoyable read. I really enjoyed this book and the characters in it even though a few needed to be throat punched a couple times. I wanted to shake some sense into Brad sometimes.I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Rollercoaster of emotions.Sophie Clinton had gotten out of her small hometown and thought she had found her happily ever after. Sometimes life is not as it seems and after being disillusioned she returns to her childhood home with her brother. She is the same Sophie but the light has dimmed in her eyes. She never thought she would be back here so close to the man she can't forget but can never have. The man she has to stay away from. Brad Marsh is your typical bad-boy womanizing bartender. He's arrogant and doesn't deny it. He knows all he has to do is smile and women are dropping their panties for him. He doesn't do relationships and the only woman he even thinks of is one he can't have. She is off limits but he can't forget her. Sophie and Brad are in the same small hometown where everyone knows your business. Her older brother is his life-long best friend. They are definitely off limits to each other except for that one night a year ago. Now they try to avoid each other and fight their attraction. How long can you leave questions unanswered? Fantastic read. Sophie and Brad are opposites who should never of hooked up but the sexual chemistry between the two keep pulling them together. At one time Brad was like a brother but that changed along the way but the caring and protecting ways never left him. Sophie needs control of her life. Something that has become important to her. These are two people that make no sense together but they work and Franca Storm's words brought this to life for me on paper. The storyline flowed so smoothly that I couldn't stop reading. Great job Franca Storm. The more I read this author's work the bigger fan I become. Recommend to everyone.

Let me start by saying, well done! I enjoyed this book very much. The title is very much something to take note of, Brad makes a terrible first, second, third- well Brad makes a bad impression. He is not willing to commit at first. Quite frustrating! Brad is best friend's with Soph's brother, Brad is a bad bad boy/man. This Brad, he is a work in progress...and sweet Soph is willing to put in the work. Wow, do these two work in the sexual chemistry department!! The dirty dripping wet hot sexy dept, they didn't really get their act together as a couple until about 30%of the way through. Here's an inside tip, Brad did not know he was the guy that took Soph's virginity, ole Brad had a little too much too drink that night. Once He realizes, or should I say Soph tells him? All bets are off, Brad is a full on caveman from this moment on. Brad is looking to rectify his mistakes and erect a monument in Soph's honor(too much?) honestly, he's impressive. There is a great deal of humor and steam in this story. The descriptions of him and them together are beyond my capabilities to fully explain, you will have to read the book. Hot, hot and hotter. Stick with it, Brad gets his act together. Brad becomes a romance superhero. Very interesting side story between Sophie's brother Ollie and her best friend Tiff. Something on the horizon with those two, if Ms Storm can help them get their act together as well. Very much recommend and would say this is a solid 4 star read. I did struggle with the sexual partners both characters had after being together initially, which is why I would not say this is a five stars for me, but it may be for you. Thank you. *****4.5 STARS*****Franca Storm is an author that I have recently had to privilege to read for the blog, and I love her writing. I really enjoyed Bad Impressions.Sophie Clinton is relieved to have escaped an abusive relationship to return home safely. That is, until she runs into her older brothers' best friend Brad immediately, who was her first and broke her heart in the same day. Sophie has no desire to deal with him, nor his man whoring ways, but she finds she still has strong feelings for him. Brad Marsh knows he needs to keep his distance from Sophie this time, but the stronger than ever pull between them, is making that goal impossible. They decide they aren't going to fight it anymore, but there are a lot of obstacles in their way. The biggest one is Sophie's older brother Ollie, who doesn't think anyone is good enough for his baby sister, much less that his slutty best friend. Will Sophie and Brad be able to get past an angry brother and small town gossip to be together?I fell in love with Brad and Sophie from the beginning, even though Brad made me mad. Their chemistry is explosive, making the sexy scenes SCORCHIN! Character development is great, with a captivating, smooth flowing story line. It's a fast pace story that I couldn't put down. My one issue is that it seemed rushed at the end. All in all, I loved it, and hopefully we will get to see more of these amazing characters!

Brad Marsh and Ollie Clinton are best friends. They have been for quite a long time. Sophie Clinton is Ollie's sister and we all know that's a line you don't cross. A few years earlier, however Sophie and Brad got together and she can't forget their night together. Neither can Brad. When Sophie returns to town escaping an abusive relationship she is afraid to see Brad again. She doesn't want Brad or Ollie to know about her ex boyfriends behavior. Sophie gets a job at a book store working with Brad's mother, she has always loved Sophie and hoped her son would settle down. Brad was known for his love them and leave them attitude. He didn't do relationships. A week is about as long as he had any relationship and he never slept with the woman. Sophie was different and he longed to be with her but was stopped because of his best friend. We know what happens when you resist each other. When he found out she felt the same they started to see each other. Sophie had told him about the abuse she took from ex and he longed to get his hands on him. When her ex shows up and cons Ollie he leaves Sophie with him and Brad knows she is in danger. He has taught her how to fight to defend herself, but is that enough. This story does contain profanity and sex scenes so it isn't for everyone. The story is great and will want you to keep reading

Bad Impressions Franca Storm 3.5 starsNot a bad book and it is a quick read but it just wasn’t my favorite. Now you all know I tell you that doesn’t mean you wont love it. Sophie returns to her hometown after a bad breakup with an abusive and obsessed ex lover. She is trying to get herself back together all while avoiding Brad, her brother’s best friend. The town is tiny and eventually he will know she is back. Sophie hopes Brad wants to avoid her just as much as she does him. Brad Marsh cannot forget the one woman he was never to touch but did. He knows she is back but he needs to stay away. He took her virginity and didn’t look back or so she thought. The night was a mistake. They were drunk so why does he want more when he shouldn’t. Why is he fighting and what exactly is it that he is fighting? Brad is the type of character that I would throat punch and not feel bad about. Possibly Sophie as well. This poor girl needs to cut her loses and move on. However that would make the story very less interesting. Take a peek at this one and see what you think. Click it up.

What happens when everyone around you know's your reputation and sees you as a bad boy. That's what has happened to Brad, everyone knows he's a womaniser and has a temper but know one truly knows him.Sophie Clinton is Brad’s best friends sister and has always loved him, Sophie comes back to town after a relationship has gone bad, but doesn't want to see Brad, she still has feeling for this bad boy. These two lover are meant to be together they know each other right down to the bone, he is the dark bad boy while Sophie is the Light who keeps him balanced and on the straight. Both have fears and both are reluctant to commit to each other even though they love each other.Trust is the big issue, because of Brad’s reputation Sophie can't trust him, because she know what it's like to be in an abusive relationship she can't move forward because of his temper, also her brother doesn't help because he doesn't want her involved with Brad.By the end of the book you can see how they get through the obstacles that stand in their way and finally find happiness.I gave this book 4 stars

Review by: Jennifer(3.5 stars)So this was my first time reading anything from Franca Storm, and it was an ok read. Sophie comes back to her home town, to her brother, and his best friend. A best friend that spent one night with her. Both having avoided the other for the past year, but coming home will put them into each other's paths. Brad works as a bartender, and is living the playboy life. Sophie coming back is not a good thing in his book, even worse she is now working at his mother's bookstore, meaning he will see her more and more. He had one night with her, and if her brother finds out, there will be hell to pay. What happens when Sophie's brother finds out? What happens when Sophie's past comes back to haunt her? I found this story to be an ok read, it could have been a bit better. I do wish that there was a better epilogue, I would have liked to have seen a bit into their future. I give this 3.5 stars.

I love a good second chance romance. This one was great. These two characters have a very strong connection that neither of them is able to fight. Sophie is getting over a terrible break up. Brad is fighting to stay away from her. These two have a world of obstacles thrown in their path. They fight their way through to the other side together. These two characters are dealing with very “real” situations. They both learn the meaning of commitment. I love that Sophie has shed her insecurities and turns into a force to be reckoned with. Brad really is a great guy that has been through some rough patches. I think the author did an amazing job with their story and I can’t wait to see what she has in store next.Reviewed for FMR Book Grind

3.5 StarsI received an ARC from the author for an honest review. This is a story about Sophie and her older brothers best friend Brad. Brad is your typical womanising man, at the beginning he seemed like such a jerk I wasn't sure what to make of him, but he grew on me once we started to get into the story. I liked Sophie right up until the last 15% or so, after that she kind of annoyed me and it put me off her a lot! This was quite a quick read with a little drama but overall it was good. There were a few things I would have liked to have known that happened in the past, I feel like there was a bit too much left out for my liking.

I received a ARC from the author in exchange for a honest review.4* read.I love this authors writing style so I was looking forward to getting stuck into this book. This is Brad and Sophie's story. Brad is Sophie's older brother best friend who doesn't do relationships and is a bit of a manwhore and jerk. Years earlier he got together with Sophie took her virginity and broke her heart and now Sophie's back in town escaping her ex which means they have to face each other again. Will her and Brad sort it out or will their past mean they cant be together now. You'll need to read it to find out.Great book to add to this authors collection and I look forward to more from this author.

I don't have to tell you what this story is about the author did an amazing job of that in the description. What I do want to say is..that this story is wonderfully written, the words just flowed off the page. The story is heartfelt, believable, honest and was such a joy to read. Oh and the sex scenes were hot too!
