Rescuing the Bridesmaid Reviews
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~This was a light, fun and enjoyable read. The start is very amusing and it quickly develops into quite a short but intense story. How she ever saw anything in Stan, I do not know, nor do I understand why there is such an emphasis on 'class'. I love the granny comments, and that Jo had some self respect when it came to her ex. Great for an evening's entertainment, thank you Ms Hunter.
Rescuing The Bridesmaid, another great book by Stella Hunter. This book have everything in it, laughter right from the beginning, well to me it was funny, kindness, love and a touch of jealousy and violence.Joanne Johnson is the Bridesmaid in question that needs rescuing. Drunk from the night before bachelorette party, Nate finds her passed out in the back seat of her car. Not really remembering the night she had she is a bit embarrassed at being found the way she was. I found this endearing but hilarious as well.Joanne is trying to get rid of her ex-fiancé, ex because she found out he was cheating on her with not just one person but a few, however, this ex just does not get the hint.Nate is a really nice guy, mechanic, cat catcher who from the moment he meets Joanne finds her attractive, appealing, and wants to know more about her. The attraction between the two is great and the way they communicate is easy and relaxed. On more than one occasion Joanne finds that she needs Nate’s assistance which he gives freely to the announce of Stan, the ex who feel that no matter what he has done in the past, it is Joanne’s fault. Stan is the type of man I would love to hit.Stan also has a jealous/nasty streak to him and sets out to make things difficult for Nate even to the extreme of violence, yeah lovely man he is.Stella has written another enjoyable book on her hands and such a good read, it was a joy
Joanne Johnson met Nate Whitmore when she was, perhaps, not at her best. Mistaking him for a stripper certainly didn’t help her cause. Despite that less-than-stellar beginning they both realized there was a spark between them. Both had been burned before, however, and were reluctant to do anything about it. Sometimes, though, love and attraction don’t give you any choice. Struggling with each other and ghosts of relationships past – both memories and real! – keep Joanne and Nate on their toes. This novella has interesting characters and a solid plot with enough conflict to keep things interesting. Joanne and Nate are regular people who have been burned by love before. Joanne has only recently broken up with her fiancé which is a problem for both her and now Nate. He doesn’t want to be a rebound and she isn’t sure if she is truly ready to begin a new relationship. Despite both being hesitant things move rather quickly though the will they/won’t they is still not decided. Things come to a head in an unexpected fashion which paves the way for a satisfying ending. A great summer read for the beach.
**arc received for honest review** Joanne a young nurse that has just ended her engagement with her cheating fiancé. She wipes herself out at her best friends hens night and passes out in the back seat of her car in the car park of the pub...... Then he comes along.... Hot, dirty and so not her type! He helps her..... His damsel in distress... But it's not all happy roses with an ex that wants her back... His better than him.... His a doctor at the hospital she works at.... Can Nate compete with that? Will the tow truck driver have the damsel in distress after all? That you will have to read to find out!! It was a good quick read we believe it's part of a boxed set which would fit perfectly in. If your after a quick read this would be a book to go for. Good story line and straight to the point and lots happens!!
