Full review==> http://afterdarkbooklovers.com/2015/0...***New Author Review***(Doesn’t mean they are freshly new, just new to me.)What did I enjoy about this story?I’d like to call this book the perfect example of opposites attract. Two people from two completely different worlds. The tattoo artists meets the wine maker, business man. So was it Insta-Love? Maybe for the hero because this heroine was not thinking of love at all. Her walls are bigger than the Great Wall of China. You know how that goes in these types of stories. You let life handle it. But it also came down to a very resilient man willing to take a risk at life and pursue this woman who has put some color into his life. It all comes with a price. Break down her walls, make her see she is worth it. With a name like Lawson Coal, he came in like a wrecking ball.“We all have a darkness I just wear mine.”So Lily is our heroine. She made me see red a bit. But like I mentioned she has these big walls put up and she’s sort of like an Alpha herself. Runs her own business, makes her own money, doesn’t need anyone. Her way of coping with life may not be right in the eyes of others. What you need to understand is she was hurting, maybe too much, but if men can do it, why not women? See that’s probably why I also liked the story. A lot of the things Lily does I expect from the men in the stories. Her characteristics are more of a rock star type character we are used to reading about. Although I wanted to kill her at times it wasn’t enough to for me to give up on the story.Lawson is indescribable to me. I don’t know what I can say but that he cared too much. No rightful man would put up with that. He never gives up on Lily and even after finding out some of her past, it’s still not enough to cause him to run away. Not being biased here but it’s really hard to not like him. Yes I yelled a couple of times “Lawson leave it alone. Give up already.” Way to cheer him up. I know. You’ll get me once you read it. Their banter is quite funny. Lily assumes she’s going to handle this like she handles everything else. That’s where I was all like “Sit your ass down Lily. The LAW is here.” I loved it when he would tell her to “Watch that mouth”. Made me giggle and all.One more thing, the use of her art work. Loved it. Lily is very talented. Just needed the right person to point it out unlike the usual scumbags. What I didn’t like?First was Lily. Not the character but her actions were too much. She really pushed it overboard with how many times one can mess up and be forgiven. Lily knew where she messed up and half the time on purpose. Maybe more than half. I knew it’d be part of the whole angst, new man was going to win her over, but it didn’t make it easier. Always running to the wrong person but that little twist sort of needed to be there. It shows it’s not always safe to think you have it all handled and things always work your way. No they don’t.The use of “I”. I’m no editor but I thought one of their many jobs is to help with grammar. The paragraphs almost had so many I’s it was giving me whiplash. Yes I understand it’s told in first person. I’ve read many. At times I felt I was reading a diary or some kind of journal where you pour your feelings out. It annoyed me and yet I continued to read it because the story really was worth finishing. If you’re looking for new authors and new stories like I constantly am, give it a try. I already gave you all the necessary warnings. It does have an HEA and even that was different. Not your usual boy meets girl, rocks her world, they get married and have kids. Nope. I’m very pleased with the ending. You can make up your future or what’s to come if you like doing that. I wonder what they’re doing now? How colorful is their life now?PS: Very hot Sexy Times and some kick ass music.Happy Readings *muah*For more reviews, visit*An arc was received by the author in exchange for an honest opinion.*

Lily's life started off rough but she slowly has made a name for herself and has become a very successful tattoo artist and even opened her own shop without the help of anyone.Lily is a foul-mouthed, strong-willed tattoo artist in the shop she owns. She is a wild one to say the least, she works, drinks, f**ks, sleeps then repeats on a daily basis. But something changes in her when she meets Lawson, and she's not sure if she likes it. He makes her think and feel differently than she ever has before and she fights it, and fights it hard. Will Lawson break Lily's self destructive ways? Will Lily begin to love herself the way she should? Will Lawson and Lily let love lead the way for them?? This was the first book of Danielle's that I read and I was floored! I loved the plot line and the journey that Lily takes us on. Her life is complicated and so is her story, she is a tangled web that slowly becomes undone and along the way she gives us insight as to why she is the way she is. There are parts of this book that made me laugh (like full out belly laugh), and parts that really tug at the heart strings (I might have had tears in my eyes a few times.. but maybe I didn't.. I'll never really tell).Lawson and Lily are so different that it's almost like they are from different worlds. Lawson is very straight laced and "fancy" and that is all because of the society that he was raised in, but he too has secrets that he holds in. He and Lily bond over their pasts and secrets only to find out that maybe they aren't so different on the inside.I gave this a 5 star review because I couldn't put the book down. The story pulls you in and keeps you there until the end when you feel like you can breath again (not even knowing that you were holding your breath). The characters have so much to tell you that you begin to feel as though they are your friends and not fictional characters in a book. I will be making a point to read more of Danielle's books, but in the mean time I'm going to recommend you get your copy of this book as soon as it releases!

Lily, what can I say about Lily? She's a ballbuster, and that's the way she likes it. She has a philosophy on life, to live as much of it as she can in the shortest amount of time possible. She owns a tattoo shop. Her life consists of tattooing, drinking, screwing, rinsing and repeating. But...what happens when a buttoned down, straight laced, preppy guy bursts into her shop with a bachelor party he happens to be babysitting in tow?If you go by looks, there's a world of difference. If you take the time to look inside each of these damaged souls they have so much in common. They each hide behind a mask, a mask they think other people want to see. It works...till they meet each other.Your next book should be this one, it's about pain, secrets, escape, change, and ultimately finding that kindred soul who gets you, and wants you anyway faults and all...

This is a book that will change your life when you read it. It is more than just a romance, it's about getting past the exterior of what someone looks like to get to know the person underneath. Lily is a tough girl who likes to party hard and live life. There is more to her story than meets the eye. When this preppy guy walks into her life, the total opposite of everything Lily stands for, her world changes. Nothing is how it seems, and this book is beyond anything I have read. By far, this is the best thing I have read in years.

Review by Jen Skewes This is the first book that I have read by this author. When I first read the blurb I was very intrigued and needed to find out more. This is the story of Lily, a tattoo artist with an attitude who has a wall up that is so thick it would take a bulldozer to break it down. Lawson is the guy that manages to do that. They come from two different worlds. He’s a business man who grew up with money. But you know what they say, opposites attract. And this story is the perfect example of how true that is.When we first meet Lily I was not sure what to make of her. She didn’t have much growing up. But she managed to escape her hometown and make something of herself. She is a successful tattoo artist who owns her own shop, has a beautiful home and in control of her life. If there was ever a female alpha she is it. She is feisty, take no crap kind of girl who knows how to stick up for herself and be in control. She is not into love or relationships and does not sleep with the same guy more than once. She is the female equivalent of a man whore. But when she meets Lawson Coal he sees beneath the rough edges and sees that underneath there is more to Lily Stargazer than most people can see. He sees the badass chick that she wants everyone to see but he also sees the softer side to her. He wants her and he is not about to give up, no matter how much she pushes him away. Lawson is the rich, preppy guy that is the complete opposite of Lilly. He owns his own wine business and comes from money, something that Lily didn’t have growing up. When he first meets her at her shop he sees something in her and no matter how hard he tries he cannot stop thinking about her. He is opening a new business in her town and has a business deal for her. And no it not of the sexual nature. But he hopes that with this deal he will be able to spend more time with her, get to know her and make her his. The only issue is that Lily is not the type of girl to settle down. But will Lawson Coal be the guy to change her views on dating?I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. As mentioned earlier I had a hard time with Lily at first. I have no issues with her not wanting to settle down and wanting to sleep around. I mean if men can do it why not women? But I think at some point it may have been too much for me. At times I wanted to smack some sense into her because she completely frustrated me. But in the end I really loved her character and wanted her and Lawson tow work things out. He saw something in her and I loved that he never gave up. Even if at times I wanted him to walk away. But Law has his own past and secrets that he is hiding. And being with Lily helps him to open up for the first time. It’s as if she is his light and brings him happiness that he hasn’t felt. Overall this was a great read. It was missing something for me and I think that it may have been that I felt like some issues didn’t seem to be cleared up. But overall I really enjoyed it and look forward to more from this author.

***ARC was kindly given in exchange for an honest review.***"Lily, was her name and I wasn’t about to forget that any time soon. She is a wild one, I can see that, her black as night hair reminds me of a wild mustang running free. You don’t tame a woman like her, even when I told her to watch her mouth."-LawsonThis book is a badass sexy strong girl type of book you will want to read when you're a girl. It will make you feel this kind of feeling that you can achieve anything and take over the world.Lily Stargazer is a total badass. What's interesting is how she made it to the top coming from the bottom. Those kind of character makes me believe that anything is really possible. I mean, who would ever think that someone left by their own parents when still a baby to live in a trailer park with her grandparents would become a well-known on demand tattoo artist who travels the world, lives in a million dollar house ans own a Bugatti!!! What did I say? Badass right?Lily will give you this kind of courage that makes you feel that no one can stand up to you and no one can put you down. Maybe that's why Lawson fell for her. Because sometimes, guys have this notion that they can tame the bad girl. Well, all guys loves the challenge I guess. And speaking of that, Lily's got a line of guys trying to tame her. (And I think it goes both ways since there's also this notion that girl loves bad boys, because they think they'll be the one to change them. Too naive? I think so too, but it really does happen in the real world.)"I need to make her see that she belongs with me. I don't even care where we are, I just need her to be mine and her to want to be with me and me, no one else."-Lawson There are a lot of surprising details on the book that brings life to the book, but its for everyone to discover while reading Lily's Law. This book will make you feel like a badass, want a tattoo and make you drink wine. 5 stars for Danielle Torella for making such an awesome book. Thanks for making us girls feel that boys may be driving the car, but we're stepping on the gas!! :)

Where to begin, where to begin. First of all, Lily is a bad ass chick. She is smart, strong and independent. She does who she wants, what she wants, when she wants and makes no apologies for it. She likes not having anyone to answer to. But you can tell pretty early on that there's a lot more to her than meets the eye. Under the tough-girl persona is a woman who wants what most people want. To be accepted. To be appreciated. To be loved. Lawson is the exact opposite of any guy Lily would ever look at. He comes from a nice, loving family. He's a clean-cut, wholesome business man. Like Lily, there's more to him than a starched white collar and cuff-links.I LOVE the two of them together. They are yin and yang, dark and light. The term opposites attract could not be more appropriate for them. They will drive you crazy, because they are both so stubborn, but you want them to be together because you know its right. Danielle's writing grows with every one of her books, and this is her best book yet. Each new character I read, I feel like she puts a little piece of herself into. This book is more edgy than her previous, and I like that she's branching out. There is some very hot sex, no graphic violence, and no cliffhanger. Another great book by Danielle. I'm excited to see what direction she takes her next story!

First of all, I have to say that I am so excited that I got the opportunity to read Lily's Law. I have admired and purchased Danielle's artwork for years, following her career as it took off. I am ashamed to say, however, that Lily's Law is the first book I have read by her. That will be remedied shortly. Danielle brings a fresh perspective to a genre full of bad boys and good girls. Lily is the anti-heroine; an unapologetic bad girl with a mouth and attitude to match. While some readers might be taken aback by her cockiness, language and frequent one night stands, I found Lily refreshing. It is about time that women are portrayed as more then needy, goody-goodies. Lily is real and raw. She made me feel so many emotions that I lost myself in her story. Don't go into this book looking for a sweet love story or a story of redemption. I really don't think Lily needs to be redeemed. Yes, she is not typical, but she really never did anything horrible. Had she hurt other people? Yes. Had she hurt herself? More then once but there was never a time that she was truly a bad person. If you couldn't tell already, Danielle has a new fan of her writing. I can't wait to read more of her stories!

Lily is not your typical girl. Growing up in a trailer park raised by her grandparents she has made many mistakes. Now she owns a tattoo shop and has made a name for herself in Vegas. She has resolved herself to working, partying and having casual sex that is until she meets Lawson. Lawson is the complete opposite of Lily. He is uptight by the book kind of guy and when fate throws them together the seemed to turn each other upside down and inside out. Just wow at first I didn't really want to like Lily because of her lifestyle and the nonchalant way she expressed it. Then you get to know her a little more and it seems more like she is crying for help and looking for redemption. Then their is Lawson who seemed to me a huge a-hole and snob, but then he turns out to be a great guy who is also trying to redeem himself from past problems. When the two of them are actually together they are truly amazing with each other. An amazing story with very intense yet thrilling characters. This is one story you don't want to miss out reading!

I was given an ARC by the author in an exchange of a honest review. Let me start by saying I loved this book. One of the reason is the female lead, she was a badass independent women. If you love to read about kick ass female characters, you will love lily. Loved the romance, and is rare that I cheer for the good clean cut guy and I did in this book. I love how different they seem but deep inside they had more in common that we thought. Is rare that I love the female character more than the guy, it happens to me once in a blue moon and it happen with Lily. Loved her. Another thing I loved and appreciated was the tattoo shop scenes, I love reading about it in this and other books I read before. Is well written, good pace and good characters. I would definitely recommend this book if you love good romance and if you don't like those weak female Leads you are going to appreciate this book because of the main female character.

This is an amazing story and honestly I think it is the BEST one yet! I really enjoyed the characters. Lily is the main female lead and she is a kickass, badass, kind hearted, lady who isn't going to take crap from no one. She thinks she is set in her ways and doesn't want or need love. Then she meets Lawson but will he change her mind or is she just to stubborn and set in her ways. Lawson is a strong alpha male with a big heart. He knows he wants a true love and he doesn't care what their background or up-bring is. Fate, or maybe his brother's college buddies take him on a little adventure and it changes his life forever. Will their secrets and strong wills bring them together or keep them apart? Grab this book and enjoy the ride because it is one you will not want to miss. I think this is Danielle Torella's best book yet. She has grown so much in her writing and her characters are strong and a unique story line adds to the greatness of this book.

Lily's Law is one of those great books that you can't wait for it to end (because you want to know what happens), but you also don't ever want it to end (because you want to know about their life beyond the book). I couldn't put it down.Lily is a wonderfully weird spitfire, who is who she is and isn't sorry about it. (don't we wish we could all be like that?) I loved her development and growth and was excited to see her find herself. Let's talk about this amazingly patient and loving man Lawson... I appreciate his authority, understanding, love, and passion when it comes to "his Lily". He my not be the perfect man but he is the perfect man for Lily. They just get each other!I wish I could have seen a bit more of their life together at the end, but that is just me being hopeful and not wanting it to end! I will recommend this book to all of my friends!

Lily is one tough chick. Going thru so much in the town she grew up, she leaves, makes the best of her life, lives day by day without a care in the world. Until HE Show's up. He's awaken In her something she's not use to, making his way into her crazy world. She fights him left and right, but he slowly makes his way to her heart. Making bad choices, trying to decide how to move forward, secrets coming out....how will they overcome? it's a beautiful story you don't want to miss. A ball busting girl falling in love. Loved this story, very different, and a change of to other books. Sadness. Happiness. And so much more.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Well at first it started off a little slow for me just couldn't get my mind into the book. But I have to say that I stuck with the book and by the 3rd or 4th chapter I was hooked. Lily is a strong woman but at the same time kinda weak cause she puts on a brave front but doesn't put up with crap from anyone. I really wanted to throat punch Adam one of Lily's workers and playtoy. He is an a$$hat. Lawson I love OMG can I have me one of him. Book boyfriend material. Danielle did a wonderful job with this story and I am really glad I stuck it out and just knew I was in a reading funk. It is on my MUST read list of books.

First thing I will say is I loved every single word. One thing I will say is this book is so different from what is out there in the book world right now it just had me hooked from the start I didn't want it to end. I was sad it ended... Lily is one freaking bad ass, she is funny and tough. Lawson (swoon) he is a strong alpha male and respectful. I loved these characters. This is a must read. Check it out...

Even bad a$$, foul mouthed, independent women need love too…even if they don't know it! Lily owns her own hugely successful business. She parties hard and answers to no one. It’s her rules. One night is all they get, never more. Sure, she has a past with fears and a secret she doesn't want to share with anyone, but that only makes her more determined to live her live EXACTLY as she wants. Her only tie to her past is her grandfather, whom she’d do anything for, and a childhood friend that holds the key to her secret. When a bachelor party stumbles into Stargazer, Lily could never imagine that the GQ who boldly says to her, “watch your mouth”, would be the exception to her rule. She does everything to keep him at arms length, but she cant seem to push him away completely. This is a feisty, opposites attract story. I was captivated by Lily’s fire! I was drawn to Lawson’s charm. Each character was well developed with a backstory that all tied in together. I would have liked a little bit more with Lily’s grandfather. He obviously meant a lot to her but I felt like his part of the story was kind of forgotten toward the end.The editing does need to be fine tuned (it was a little distracting), but I think Danielle Torella is an outstanding story teller and has given us a unique spin on the Happy Ever After!I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Amazing read!!! Raw, honest, and different!!! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. The cover alone had me anxious to read it from the moment I saw it. The bright colors mixed with the darkness had me drawn in. When I finally did get my hands on this, I began reading right away. It was definitely not what I expected. Lily has worked her way up from nothing and now owns a successful business in Vegas. She has this care free, devil may care attitude. She tells it how it is, and what she says goes. What I love about this character is that she is different, in that she isn’t self conscious about herself. She is sexy and she knows it. She uses what she has to get what she wants. I love that she’s not insecure. She’s strong and outspoken. If it’s in her heart, it’s out her mouth. She can go from sweet and innocent, to ripping balls off and snatching hair out in a matter of a breath. What I love about her most though, is that she is honest and direct. She doesn’t pretend. She wears her personality on the outside. Lawson is not what I expected when I started this book. He is not who I pictured pursuing a girl like Lily. They are from two completely different worlds. But, as they say, the heart wants what the heart wants. I’d like to write more, because I loved this book so much, but I don’t want to spoil the book too much for anyone.

This is the first book that I have read by Danielle Torella, but it will definitely not be my last. I have been familiar with and own a few of her Pushy Girl Paintings, but have never ventured into her world. I am so glad I did. When the fourth word of a book is “f#$^”, you know you are in for a ride. And a ride is what Danielle takes us on.I love, love Lily and Law individually, but together they are amazing. Lily is the anti-heroine. She is unapologetic with her one night stands and her tough girl persona. Even after she meets Law, she still fights everything to be this bad-a$$ “freak”, but soon realizes that it is a losing battle. Law, on the other hand, fell for Lily at first sight. He then spends all his time convincing her that she needs him too.Danielle writes an incredible story of love and I would say redemption, but Lily doesn’t need redemption. She just needs to learn to stop punishing herself. Lily is very hard on herself, so when she finally opens herself, she is scared, but Law helps guide her along the way to love. So, I guess it is about redemption (LOL). It shows that if you just let yourself feel – everything is better! And Danielle writes this in the best way.I highly recommend this book, and I look forward to reading her other books.

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**Lily is living her life the way she wants to. She has a successful tattoo shop and is proud of it. Work hard but party harder. Work, drink, have sex, and repeat. There was no one going to tell her how to live her life. Lily’s life was out of control but she didn’t care one bit. One day Lawson shows up at her shop. He is from money and not her type at all but still something draws her to him. Her life isn’t the same after that. Can two people from different worlds stand a chance? This book is amazeballs!! Once I started reading, I didn’t put it down. I LOVE Lily and could relate to her in a lot of ways. This book comes complete with giving you the feels. Such feels! I cried, laughed, and then cried some more. Also my urge to drink kicked up a notch but that’s not a bad thing. Once I was done with the book I mourned a little cause this book rocked my world. If you’re looking for a read that’s a little different but awesome this book is for you! 5 stars!!

I'm rating this book 3.5 starsFirst off the cover is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! The author designed it herself and there's cute graphics in the book as well. I didn't really care for the heroine, Lily so much. I just didn't connect with her. I did like her better in the end. Her characteristics that she was independent and didn't take crap from anybody I enjoyed about her the most. Also, it was refreshing that instead a man being a player it was the female. Now I really liked the hero, Lawson. He was very sweet. He was basically a gentleman in public and a lion in the bedroom. ;)I loved Lily's best friend Elise as well as Lawson's best friend Cal. There was a couple of times I wanted to punch a couple of characters I didn't like so much. :) For me I felt that it took to long to be introduced to our hero or the romance to start. I also wish there was more of the story when they finally became a couple.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review!!!! Oh damn this book didn't disappoint at all. Our Lily is a feisty woman with balls of steel. I wish I could be just like her. This book had me feeling the whole spectrum of emotions. I was all over the place, but I loved every last second. I hope to see alot more from this author.
