I read this via Kindle UnlimitedBravo, Fiore, bravo. I absolutely loved this. I was drawn in from the first paragraph. This was a lovely story of love tested over a span of almost 20 years. I loved Kane, and I loved Teagan, but there were times where I wanted to slap sense into them. This wasn't really all that happy of a story, there were times where I wanted to cry buckets...but there was lots of laughter and happy moments too.I really enjoyed the main characters, all of them. The 2 main characters whose story this is, as well as their guardians, and later on, Teagan's friend and business associate Simon. This was a story of growing up, and finding oneself, of love of epic proportions, overcoming life changing obstacles, and going after what you want/need in life. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This review doesn't come close to giving this book justice, its just one you need to check out for yourself.come find me: mrsdeick Twitter: @ReadsAsh

ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review[image error]It is often said that eyes are the windows to the soul and in L.A. Fiore'sA Glimpse of the Dream, she takes her readers on an emotional, heartbreaking, and touching journey of loss, friendship, love, second chances, forgiveness, and new beginnings. With a whirlwind of raw emotion, Ms. Fiore was able to interweave the journey of Teagan and Kane from childhood to adults. Their journey was a slow building process that blossomed from childhood friends to soul-mates to lovers. In a true heart wrenching fashion, Ms. Fiore gives readers a realistic portrayal of growth. Though Teagan and Kane knew from the depths of their soul that they were indeed soul-mates, they learned that true love is about sometimes letting someone go. And the beauty of this book, was that Ms. Fiore allowed her readers to FEEL the hurt, the anger, resentment, hope and love when Teagan and Kane were reunited after several years apart. So if you want a book that reminds us all that regardless of time and circumstance, true destined love conquers all. A beautiful and amazing story of two wonderfully crafted characters, Teagan and Kane. This book is a magical journey through their childhood friendship, a sweet and tender teenage love, and a deep and everlasting love for one another by soul mates. Only don't get too comfortable because there's a lot of angst and trouble to dig through before readers will reach the sunny side. Kane broke my heart right along with Teagan's. There were times I wanted to hate him. But I couldn't - not really. He pieced me back together along with Teagan through redemption and forgiveness. There are also some excellent and heart stealing secondary characters that will charm and endear themselves to readers. I loved this book from start to finish. I loved the author's voice and her talents in presenting such a refreshing and thoroughly enjoyable reading experience. It is truly an unforgettable story that will linger in my heart for years to come. And luckily I won a hard copy through a Goodreads giveaway that now resides on my "keeper" bookshelf.

I was really excited to find this book on Net Galley. I'd previously read and loved Beautifully Damaged and while it's sequel wasn't quite as good I'd put that down to the fact it was a sequel. This story starts really well with young girl Teagan, recently orphaned, being sent to stay with Mrs Marks a friend of her Grandparents. Feeling frightened and alone among strangers she meets Kane, another ward of Mrs Marks. He is a couple of years older and is the sweetest boy ever. He does everything he can to make her feel welcome and the two become very attached. As they grow older their relationship develops from friendship to romantic. When Tea heads off to college however a family secret tears them apart. Tea tries to recover from her broken heart and make her way in the world on her own but can never really forget the man she considers her soul mate and best friend. When she returns to her childhood home years later and discovers the secret that split them apart she has to decide whether to fight for the man she still loves.I thought this was a really nice story and particularly liked the start. Despite the tragic circumstances that forced her there her adoptive family seemed ideal. I loved the pranks and games and young Kane was just so cute. However I started to struggle a bit with the characters as adults. It looks from other reviews that a lot of people loved this book and laughed and cried along with the characters but I just couldn't connect with them. For me there was just too much analysis of everything they were feeling and thinking. I'd prefer if rather than saying it they showed it. Maybe it's a cultural difference between the UK and US but I've never met anyone who speaks about their feelings in such detail. It is a good story but it just missed the spark for me.

"A Glimpse of the Dream" by L.A. Fiore is another one of her emotional-gripping reads. Within the first hour of reading, I went through so many feelings it was pretty insane. But if you have become familiar with Fiore's work that's what you've come to expect. With that, she likes to switch it up. Keep you on your toes and your heart in a vice when it comes to the heroine and hero's relationship. This book truly was no different. You have Teagan and Kane. Two kids who both have suffered tragedy and has found solace within each other and under the roof of their adopted mother Mrs. Marks and her home at Raven's Peak, Maine. Over time their friendship develops into deep feelings of love. Once in a meaningful relationship, they begin to realized the happily ever after dream is not so easily achieved. After a painful revelation, their dream that they fought for is shattered. Many years later, both Teagan and Kane are at odds with each other. Teagan soon begins to realize there was more to their painful end then she could ever imagine. Will they both be strong enough to pick up the pieces to achieve that dream they so longed for? Out of all of Fiore's books this was such a tough read. Meaning I found myself an emotional blubbering mess and honestly I'm not that way. Even when it comes to a book I LOVE. I can hold it together pretty much. This book wasn't sharing that same sentiment, at all! It basically told you to prepare yourself for so much love and heartache that you may need to seek some therapy after. Teagan and Kane characters were written so strongly. They basically held their own in this book. Such a strong connection you basically felt it coming out the book. Another positive in this book was the supporting characters. These are the characters that become part of a family to the main couple lives. I love how Fiore writes these characters. It's like they could actually be a part of your family. You develop such a strong connection with them because of how they help the hero and heroine in their world. My only negative was the character Camille and her storyline that developed later on. Can I just puke on her? She made me ill. Just a nasty person that you wish would just go away in a cornfield. Couldn't stand her, and she kind of almost killed the story towards the end. But as they say, karma is the big "B". In all, if you are in the mood for a tearjerker and a beautiful book then please download this into your kindle and get lost in Fiore's world. Believe me, I wouldn't steer you wrong. Out of a 5, I'm giving this a 4.5 stars. Another winner for Fiore. Loved! Teagan and Kane were just amazing! You are immediately drawn into this story from the very beginning due to the tragic circumstances that lead Teagan to Raven's Peak. Then you learn the story that brought Kane to Raven's Peak and there is no turning back for the love and support for these two characters. They develop this extraordinary bond that leads these two down the path of an unforgettable, perfect love. Upon graduating, Teagan leaves to go to college in Boston but Kane proposes to her on the way to the airport and plans to join her in 6 months. Then L. A. Fiore rips my heart out!!! Teagan begins to her less and less from not only Kane, but the entire Raven's Peak family. Having had enough, she returns home to find Kane has moved out and on with another woman. Devastated, yes Teagan but me too, Teagan returns to Boston and tried to get on with her life, cutting ties from everyone to allow herself to heal. When circumstances force her home some 10 years later, things are different and Teagan is trying to figure them all devastating piece at a time. There is nothing to write without giving away spoilers but L.A. Fiore is an absolute master at writing books that will grab your heart, twist it until you think you are going to die on the characters behalf and then slowly, painfully, sweetly, magically puts the thud, thud, thud back into the heart with a HUGE does of awesomeness to boot! This is my second L.A. Fiore book and I am beginning to question my own sanity for not reading or knowing about her before!!!

*****5 Toad Beds and Worm Pies Stars*****An amazing story that I didn't want to end. This book had me laughing, crying, hoping and loving. I went through every emotion and loved every moment of it.Tea was a strong, lost and heartbroken girl when she met Kade. After a life altering event Tea found herself in a place that she didn't know with people she didn't know. But all it took was for 1 boy to befriend her and a dream was had. Kade took Tea under his wing and became her best friend. As years past their friendship grew and love was formed. The ups and downs their relationship endured was heart wrenching, heart breaking and hopeful. The characters in this book complimented each other and made the story flow perfectly. This book really surprised me with the twist and turns the story line took but it kept me in grossed in the story to the very end. Amazing writing and beautifully told story. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

This was second chance romance that was both heartbreaking and heartmending. The reasonings behind some of the choices made were frustrating, but as the story continued, I could see where both Teagan and Kane were coming from. That doesn't mean I agree but L.A. did a great job of getting into their heads and telling their stories. Watching them age was so sweet. When they fell apart, I could feel myself start falling apart. But when things were food they were really food. And the sexy times were some of the best times. Their journey wasn't easy but it was worth it.

I am a huge fan of LA Fiore. The first book I read was Beautifully Damaged and I was hooked. This book was just as powerful. You have the beautiful imagery and the roller coaster of emotions that you literally feel as you read. Your heart goes out to Kane and Teagan all the struggles and triumphs throughout the book. Very well written and a book that really stays with you and makes you think. It made me really appreciate the little things in life and big that we sometimes take for granted.

And L.A. Fiore blows my mind yet again! This book totally grabbed me hard.   I could not put it down. You want to read a story that sucks you in and takes you for an emotional rollercoaster?  Then this is a book to read!Teagan & Kane's story is brought beautifully to us from when they start off as childhood friends  and later into their adult lives.  Tragedy, love, and devastation rock their worlds and it will rock your heart while reading.  I loved that this story had a mystery that had me guessing and wondering what was it till the last page.  The characters were beautifully written, well developed plots and I felt like I got a great understanding on how the characters all came together.   Nothing was left unanswered.  Thank goodness otherwise I would have been more of a mess! Yes, this is a must read on your summer list!  No way is this story predictable.  Get your box of tissues ready and get ready for your heart to feel & your mind to be blown. **ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review** 4 Cherries Popped

"Life happened, sometimes it sucked, sometimes you had to start again, and maybe you headed in a direction you never saw coming. The trick was to make it work regardless. I had."I love a book that throws me for a loop, and boy did this one! Just when I thought the story was going one way...BAM...I was speechless! It was an amazing twist that I never saw coming!I love how we are taken through the years of Teagan and Kane's story. Starting when they first met at ages 11 and 9 as heartbroken children. Kane was the one person that helped Teagan through the loss of her parents. Their friendship was one you would dream of having as a child-filled with fun, pranks, laughter, and love."I'd never had a best friend, but I had one now. We understood each other, almost as if he were an extension of me and me of him."I was so much in Swoonville with Kane. The way he would talk to Tea, and how he did anything and everything to make her happy. Then IT happened. He pushed her away.I. About. Died!!No spoilers here! You know they break up in the blurb, but WOW, it's devastating!!! I felt like I was Tea! Crazy as that sounds, but it's true. My poor heart was breaking with hers and I just wanted to ring his neck! "Please, just tell me what happened to you. What happened to my Kane? I miss him everyday.""Let it go, Teagan, please just let it go."As the story progresses, you find out what happened all those years ago. It's sad, and my emotions were everywhere. L.A. Fiore held nothing back with this one!I went from loving Kane, to hating him, back to loving him to pieces. I wanted to hold both him and Teagan and get them through this whole thing. "Telling the one person I wanted most that I didn't want her. It took everything in me not to grab you and never let go. But then reality returned, and I knew that tying you to me, to this deserved better than that."Not only was it a story about their relationship, but also the relationships between them and their friends. You fall in love with the three wonderful people that raised Kane and Teagan. They are amazing people! Also, you will find your own best friend in Simon! Love that man! This story pulled every heartstring that I have! I smiled throughout their childhood at the crazy pranks involving toads and worms (believe me, it's great!). I swooned when they fell in love as teenagers. I cried and cursed at the heartbreak they both endured. Then I fell in love all over again with these two beautifully broken people."You said I needed to make the first move. I want to make the first move, Tea. I just don't know if I'll ever be the guy you deserve.""You already are."Again, I think this book was wonderful! Thank you, L.A. Fiore for giving us Kane and Tea! They are unbelievable characters that will forever stay in my heart. I can't wait for everyone to read this story!! "You made me promise once, remember? You made me promise I would never leave you. I meant it then and I mean it now. I'll never leave you. Now you need to make that promise to me.""Never, Tea, You're my home."

Escape into my Reads Book BlogThis book made me feel like I had stepped into the story with Teagan and Kane. The written words reached out to me and gripped onto my emotions making me feel that ache of longing in my chest. Teagan’s circumstances made me connect to her straight away and when she entered Raven’s Peak I could feel such sorrow and darkness emanating from the gothic building, that I felt it matched the pain and sadness Teagan was experiencing. Meeting Kane was like her life line, he was her happy. The bond of friendship he extended towards her as he became her protector and then her lover was so beautiful and heart-melting. As Teagan and Kane progressed in their relationship circumstances teared them apart. Left in the dark Teagan experienced a feeling of being abandoned again and had to learn how to survive without Kane. She was left hurt and angry wanting to know the truth behind his detachment and questioned what happened to the guy who once said he loved her. The angst L.A Fiore delivered mixed in with suspense, and Teagan’s search for the truth behind Kane’s betrayal kept me engaged to the story. I wanted answers for poor Teagan and I couldn’t have predicted the outcome so I loved the twists and turns and the ending. I loved Teagan and Kane they were both such strong and loveable characters. A Glimpse of the Dream is a beautiful heart wrenching read that gave me so many feels. The story was brilliantly executed with suspense, angst, romance, the feeling of overcoming suffering and misfortune and how love was always destined to be for Teagan and Kane.

I was privileged to receive a ARC for this book for an honest review. This book is so well written you feel the joy and the pain that the words contain, it was an emotional read, I literally had tears in my eyes at times whilst reading it.Teagan has lost both her parents in a tragic accident just before Christmas and is taken to live in Blue Hill, Maine she doesnt know anyone and has no family left. Her first night there she cry's herself to sleep to be woken by Kane a boy a couple of years older than her over the next few weeks they form a friendship that will take them both on a journey.Kane's mom had worked for Mrs. Marks in the large home that he now share's with Teagan but she had left him in the care of Mrs. Marks so its easy for him to form a friendship with Teagan because they both have lost parents. This book takes you on a journey through their childhood, college and dreams of the future but tragedy strikes again and they are left with wounds that are so deep you wonder if they will heal. We also see that family can be made up of many people and that blood is not always what a family is.I for one will read this book again, so please go get your copy and enjoy the journey but be warned you will go through a range of emotions from happy, anger to devastation but it is so worth it.Congratulations L A Fiore on another beautiful book.

“A Glimpse of the Dream” runs the gambit, taking the reader on quite the emotional roller coaster along with Teagan and Kane with multiple layers of hurt, love, pain, forgiveness, deception and misunderstanding. Get the tissues handy — you’re gonna need them before you finish this tale of woe that’s filled with laughter, loss, personal and emotional growth, sacrifice and a number of long held secrets. L.A. Fiore’s writing is filled with depth rarely seen in today’s fiction. The characters develop naturally with each passing age. It’s a sweet story that begins with a couple of young kids who find comfort in a fellow orphan. It’s fun to see their bond deepen as each develops into the person each becomes. From the moment Teagan and Kane meet they feel a kinship that binds them together, a connection that blooms and grows into a special kind of love very few ever know. Some would call them soul mates. The best friends in high school acknowledge the incredible chemistry that’s sizzle between then and eventually become lovers. And yes, as one would imagine from such a pair who reside in the same home, those hormones result in one of the pair sneaking into the other’s room at night. This seemed realistic, yet at the same time, make you wonder where were the adults when such things were going on. But, even that will be addressed eventually in this tale. The pair are constants, until Teagan arrives at college in Boston and is unable to go home for the holiday because she’s falling behind in her studies. Kane even proposed to his “Tea” before taking her to the airport to meet her plane. The plan was for him to join her in six months to begin their lives together. They are each given a “Glimpse of the Dream,” a taste of pure bliss and the promise of a perfect future. But, even the best of relationships are tested. Tea and Kane’s is no exception. Thanks to good intentions, deliberate misunderstanding, some outright lying on the part of a jealous nut, and complicity of those closest to Kane and Teagan in keeping some awful truths secret Kane rips her heart out. He ends things; she’s told in her absence he’s taken up with another woman. When she can’t get hold of anyone at the holidays, she finally rushes back home, worried, only to be told by a harridan that while hadn’t left Blue Hill for her, he’s moving for his new woman, who he’s planning to marry. After balling her eyes out and refusing to eat much or get out of bed for way too long, Teagan’s college BFF Simon shows up and drags her out of the doldrums and forces her to rejoin the living. Instead of focusing on Kane and the life she was to have had, Teagan focuses on her studies and has to figure out who she will be without Kane — hard as that is. She even learns to laugh and enjoy things with her best bud, and dates men for a few months. But she is unable to form any real attachment to them, primarily using them to scratch an itch and mark time; after all she only has so much to give. She gave her heart and so much of herself to Kane, and that part of her remains as empty as her life after he shattered her. He was her other half; so much so, she’d happily believed them inseparable. She and Simon develop a very successful antiques business. For seven years she does her best to survive in a life that’s still so foreign to the one she knows she was meant to have. She doesn’t return to Blue Hill until Mrs. Marks, the elderly woman who took in Teagan after her parents died in a car crash and who adopted Kane after his mother (who was her employee) deserted him at her home, is hospitalized with possible life-threatening problems. She and Simon head home to see her, and end up staying an extended period of time as her condition waivers. While waiting at the hospital, hoping to be able to see Mrs. Marks, Teagan gets her first look at Kane in years. And, he’s with another woman! Teagan stays at her childhood home, in close proximity and constant threat of running into Kane, who she’s told has not only built their house on their island nearby, but lives there with his wife. Unable to keep silent, pained by how he’s made her feel, seeking answers, she goes to him. She finds him very changed. When she looks into his eyes he’s not her sweet, thoughtful upbeat Kane, but a hard, bitter stranger. And, even worse, she has to admit she’s never forgotten him. But, while visiting Mrs. Marks, she mentions a secret involving Kane. In her dealings with the other members of Mrs. Marks’ home, it becomes apparent, several things aren’t right at home. Teagan stays, determined to see Mrs. Marks well and get to he bottom of things — like why Mrs. Marks would hire that slimy lawyer to skulk around her home, “cataloging” her belongings even when it’s apparent that’s just a ruse for something else. Their concern about Mr. Sleazy unites Kane and Teagan in a common goal for Mrs. M’s benefit. Teagan is driven to find out what’s the deal with Kane? What really happened to make him the way he is, what’s the secret Mrs. M was talking about? Does she see a spark of her Kane inside him, can she reach him? Is it worth it? Is he worth it? And, just when it seems things just might resolve themselves in a satisfactorily, Fiore flips the script, offering yet additional challenges. Read to the very end. See how small decisions can have huge ramifications, transformative, startlingly life-altering results. “A Glimpse of the Dream” is well worth the read, but might be best consumed not in one big gulp but in phases in order to properly digest each piece of Fiore’s story. I’d definitely read other Fiore books in the future, given the opportunity. This Montlake Romance releases July 7, on Amazon; Kindle pre-order prie is $3.99.

Sometimes you read a book and it strikes every cord in your heart and that’s what this book did. I laughed, I cried, I swore at the characters and then I would swoon. Kane and Teagan are such a strong couple even with everything they went through. They overcame pain and ended up on the right side because they deserved that happiness. There’s not A whole lot I can say about the book with risk of giving spoilers from the entire story. I will say that the author was able to mix a lot of great suspense/mystery, romance, heartache, steam and so much more into the pages of this book. This is one of the times I’m kicking my own butt for not reading it sooner. 5 Stars #2OCCJD

I enjoyed the first 40-60 percent, but lost interest after that. The biggest turnoff for me was the endless amounts of dialogue. Kane would ask Teagen a simple question like "How are you feeling?" and she'd launch into a diatribe about literally everything she's feeling. Which works once or twice if it's a big, climactic moment, but it just seemed like the entire novel was this over and over and over: endless talking, lots of telling, not enough showing. The plot was good, and the whole story had all the right elements: a secret, hurt feelings, etc. But unfortunately I'm not sure the writing did it justice.

Another epic love story by L.A. FioreI love all of L.A.'s books but this one constantly pulled at my heartstrings. The struggles between Kane and Tea's relationship not to mention the inner struggles in their personal lives made your heart ache for the characters and yet through their struggles they fought and won. I love that each of L.A.'s stories are so unlike each other and unpredictable. If you're looking for a beautiful love story with an HEA ending this book is for you! So worth the read!

I just..wowThis was such a sweet romantic story. I hurt and ached right along with them for the pain they endured multiple times throughout the story. I loved having the story through both of the main characters eyes and i liked how unpredictable it was to. Throughout half of the book your thinking one thing and then boom, you get thrown off completely by something so unexpected. Then right when you think all is good it gets thrown for a loop again. Its painful, hard, and yet so real. In the end i loved how it all played out. Definitely reading more of this authors work.

Sometimes a dream comes true instantly and others takes forever. But never give up your dream. Kane and Teagan, both orphans, met at Raven’s Peak. Kane was 2 years older than Teagan. They were like two peas in a pond. Did everything together. Teagan wanted to go to college in Boston and Kane was staying at Raven’s Peak and wait for Teagan. But something happened and Kane turned away from Teagan. What could have happened? Is their dream gone for good? So many surprises, one mystery after another.

DNF. This book is not what I expected from all the 5 stars rating. Boy meets girl, grow up together and become best friends/lovers. Boy splits up with girl and then girl gets to have lots of casual sex with hot guys. I don't want to read about description of explicit sex between the h and other guys. So I gave up. Couldn't be bothered with even finding out what the big secret is behind the guy breaking up with her. Just not interested anymore. Don't think I will read her book again.
