Love on choir camp — the premise caught me from the start. Maggie is on a convention for school music teachers, when she kisses Randy first and meets him later. Since she’s been challenged by her best friend to hook up for the weekend, she’s off to a good start. I thoroughly enjoyed this book/novella. It’s fast-paced with snappy writing and lots of ironic humour. The air between Maggie and Randy fairly sizzles, and there’s a fabulous emotional intensity to their encounters that makes it very clear to the reader they really like each other, even if they tell themselves they’re pretending. The main characters are well drawn and believable, with vulnerabilities they succumb to but ultimately surmount. In particular, Maggie, who has considerable relationship baggage, is brave as she confronts what she wants and sets out to get it. And when Randy turns out to be a hot shot musician, I felt like swooning. It’s a great length, easily read in one sitting without feeling too short. Although having said that I could have definitely handled more Maggie and Randy. I desperately wanted to see them play music together. (I received an advance reading copy in exchange for an honest review.)

Lucky me, I got a sneak preview of the fun and super sexy BETWEEN THE SHEETS, by Liv Rancourt.Maggie has had a dry spell in the sex department since being left at the altar (the hairdresser to be precise) five years ago. As she and her BFF, Krista, journey to a three-day music teacher conference, Maggie hopes to meet a guy and break the spell. The moment Randy, the cool, handsome, but sometimes aloof pianist rescues Maggie from an awkward situation, the two characters heat up the pages of this contemporary novella. Their sexual chemistry is immediate and Ms. Rancourt's humor, as always, shines through her female lead making this a fun, romantic, the sex scenes will having your fanning yourself, read. The summer may be winding down, but there's still time to grab Between The Sheets, available on August 25th, and end the season with a great read.

Liv Rancourt is one of my favorite up and coming authors. Between the sheets is a first person contemporary romance novella. Maggie, an elementary school music teacher and her best friend, Krista attend a weekend conference. Krista insists on a mission - to get Maggie laid for the first time since her ex-fiance left her at the alter five years ago. Prospects seem dim until "Ginger God" Randy appears. Randy is a swoon-worthy hero with a dark past and reputation. I loved him anyway. I wasn't sure about the first person point-of-view, but Krista serves an important role in communicating how other characters think. There was so much pathos and humor packed into this short work, that I confess I am in awe.I received an advanced copy in exchange for honest review and I'm so glad I did.

Imagine summer camp for adults, only it’s not summer and they aren’t chaperoned. I wanted to join them. Maggie is adorable. Shot down once in the love department, she carries the baggage with her. It affects her confidence with men and how she interacts with them romantically, or rather doesn’t. Once she found a man worthy of getting into, her confidence skyrocketed.Randy is messed up yet loveable, until he does a few not so nice things, which made both me and Maggie want to pull his (not our) hair out. A wonderful, handsome, real, and down to earth character. I could have done without one of his little habits though.I was shocked at the sex scene (that is not a spoiler). I wasn’t sure she’d pack it into the novella, but boy did she and she did it well.

In Between the Sheets, Liv delivers to us a funny, sweet and thoughtful read. Our main character Maggie has tomboy tendencies, avoids sex and men in general. The storyline is driven by one pivotal moment in Maggie’s life. She accepts the challenge, made by her bestie Krista, to try to hook up with a man over their weekend at “teachers” music camp. What follows is an at times hilarious peep show into the lives of said music teachers. This is a short read and we spend the pages absorbed in 2 says in the life Maggie, Krista and a Ginger God named Randy. We get everything from Maggie's point of view and quickly understand that the story is really about Maggie opening herself up and taking a chance. She really doesn't see herself as much of a lady, but her bestie Krista encourages Maggie to change up her attire and to really, truly actually nab the hot young musician/teacher. Both Randy and Maggie have their own reasons for pretending to be seeing each other, maybe not the best reasons, but reasons enough to push them together. In this short story they each must come to terms with their rapidly growing feelings. We learn just enough of her to get where she’s coming from and her hangups. Randy is a bit of a loose cannon - we don’t know much about him, but he’s sweet and genuine and comes to honestly like and care for Maggie. It’s not that they have that instant-attraction, but how they play up the ruse is enough to build a deeper connection. When a seed of doubt is planted in Maggie’s mind, and Maggie can’t get past her insecurity to talk it out, we get our angsty twist.I love the characterization of the “attendees” at this music camp, where petty jealousies and high school like clique behavior drives a wedge between the attendees. Krista has to be one of the best girlfriends ever - she’s paid attention to Maggie and really only wants to help bring her out of her shell.I loved this story and tore through it within hours. 5 star read and an happy accident in this unexpected introduction to Liv Rancourts writing. Its my pleasure to recommend this as a perfect pick-me-up story in the romance genre.

It's Liv Raincourt so what can you expect other than awesome story that will pull you in head first and refuse to let you go no matter how much other things in your life scream for attention. You'll love the chemistry between Maggie and Randy. And there are a few places where you may think the story is taking a different turn and it looks like it may not end in happily ever after, but love has a funny way of working things out. At first I wasn't too keen on Randy being a smoker, but it worked out in a sexy kind of way. Looks like he may give up his vice with Maggie's persistence. Great book to get lost into and forget about the world around you, so get your hands on a copy and read Between the Sheets, you won't regret it.

I rec'd and ARC from the author in exchange for an honest opinion of her book. This is Miss Mousey's very honest opinion of "BETWEEN THE SHEETS".Upon opening an start reading this very tantalizing story from Ms Rancourt. You find yourself pulled into the world of a school teacher who basically has no life other than her teaching. She was to have gotten married but the man she was to have married left her at the alter. Bad bad move on his part. Now all she does - pour herself into her work-no social life. The way in which she brings pen to paper with her creativity is truly remarkable. Her characters are so real life an believable. They live out actual scenes in everyday life. The storyline is a remarkable one and a believable one at that.Could you imagine your self at a convention with a group of your peers and the only way to stay out of the hunt is to take yourself off limits.Thats exactly what this one hot teacher has done. He made a bargain with Maggie that as long as they were at the conference they were a couple. Maggie agreed to it.Thats what this story is about- what happens between the sheets/ What actually happens between Randy and Maggie during that weekend at the conference. Makes you wonder or does it??This is a beautiful and romantic love story that was written beautifully. You can see these two people slowly finding there way too each other. The cover of this amazing book is fits it Perfectly an is totally awesome!! Between the Sheets is written for adults or for those over 18 and love a good romance. Mis Mousey gives it a 45 out of 5 stars.NOW WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR RUN AND GET YOUR COPY TODAY !!!

For Maggie, life between her sheets has been a tad dry and uneventful whereas her best friend Krista seems to have an endless run of guys for whenever she needs a little sweet loving between the sheets. The night before the two are off to a conference where all the Music teachers like themselves ranging from primary school to high school will meet and discuss and convene , Maggie and Krista head to a bar after their usual softball game. The night goes on and Maggie and Krista make a pact after Krista dares Maggie to let loose and have fun. That she will be laid this weekend by who she is not sure, but she plans to make it happen. While on the ferry to the camp , Maggie spots a ginger haired god who she would do in a heartbeat but she shrugs it off as he's a complete stranger who just happens to be on the same short ferry ride. The two arrive at camp and lo and behold , the ginger haired guy Maggie was lusting after on the ferry happens to be a high school music teacher. This weekend just got a little bit more exciting as the two pretend to date for the weekend and things start to heat up. But by the time the end of the conference rolls around, the two must face the facts and decide whether this was just a one-off fling or is their the opportunity for something more ? At 60 pages , Between the Sheets was a fast-paced weekend romance read and so if you are in the mood for a quick read then check out Between the Sheets by Liv Rancourt. What more could you ask for but Music and Romance and of course we all know what happens at band camp, stays at band camp.

Book provided in exchange for honest review. This was my first time reading this author's work and while I enjoyed the story, I wish it was a bit longer so that a couple of things could have been explained further.Maggie has trust issues; hell, I would too if my fiance left me at the alter. Although I'm pretty sure I wouldn't wait five years before attempting to at least date someone. But kudos to Maggie's friend Krista who pretty much decided it was time for Maggie to at least have a quick fling while at choir camp.Fortunately for Maggie, she's saved from the attention of a smarmy music teacher by the "Ginger God" Randy Devers, who has his own issues.I liked how Maggie attempted to step outside her comfort zone when she was with Randy, and I got a kick out of her talking about the Cosmo articles. I even thought she and Randy made for a good couple, but what I didn't care for was Randy's treatment of Maggie that night in his cabin and again at the club after the conference. And when Maggie figured out the reason why Randy suggested that they appear to be a couple, I thought that was juvenile at best. But, I had to give it to Maggie and how she managed to resolve the situation. An overall good story with a few good laughs throughout the pages.

This book was different. I never read a book by this author. It's not a really long book. It reminded me of a short story. You meet a couple of characters that are in the band field and are at a retreat for it. When Maggie is getting hit on by this guy that thinks he is gods gift for woman. He can get whoever he wants in life. He started hitting on Maggie and she wanted nothing with him until a guy is at the retreat with her named Randy. He pretends to be her boyfriend so the gods gift man doesn't hit on her anymore. They are witness as a couple when they kiss each other in front of everybody at the conference. They would never see each other together ever. But as things start to play out in this story they end up really liking each other. This book was really good and you won't be disappointed. If you want a quick book to read I would highly recommend you grabbing this one. Read more here

**Copy provided for an honest review**Maggie and her friend Krista are off to attend the annual music director's retreat. Maggie has not been with anyone since her ex left her a little over 5 years ago. Krista thinks she needs a fling over the weekend. Once there, Kirk starts coming on to her. Kirk believes all women want him. As she is trying to get away from him Randy another music teacher who she has never met, comes over to rescue her as her "boyfriend". Randy and Maggie decide that they must play this role all weekend seeing most of the group now believes they are dating. Will the fake relationship blossom into more, seeing that Maggie has hang-ups about dating and Randy's dating history and reputation have baggage???Although, I enjoyed the story and loved the characters, I felt that the storyline just needed more.

It's not easy to write a novella with fully developed characters and a fun plot--but Liv Rancourt has done just that with "Between the Sheets." Her heroine, Maggie, is a music teacher who treks off to the Western Washington Choral Directors Annual Retreat after accepting a dare to end her long dry spell of man-less life by hooking-up with someone at the conference. Her plan gets derailed when the only man who's paying attention is an arrogant twit. Luckily, she's saved by Randy, who she's dubbed the Ginger God after one look at him. To bolster the lie they are a couple, she enters into a pretend relationship with him. Can choral camp pretend turn into real life happily-ever-after in spite of the baggage each of them carries? Read "Between the Sheets" and find out. You'll enjoy it. I did.

Yum - The title grabbed me the story kept me reading. Love in a music camp! I love the premise. Maggie was burned by love and left at the alter by a musician she's not had a relationship since. Her best friend Krista puts her up to find a fling during the weekend retreat. On the boat to the island camp she sees a man that makes her heart and flutter. Will he be in the camp, of course he will! Enter Randy a musician and high school teacher. While trying to brush off an arrogant snob that runs the retreat, Randy comes to her rescue and makes it appear they have been dating for some time. The sparks fly, is it love or a weekend fling? For a novella, the characters are well developed and I found myself smiling at the sarcastic humor at times. I look forward to reading more from this author.

After a 5 year self imposed sex drought, Maggie is dared to have a wild fling while away at Western Washington Choral Directors Annual Retreat by her friend. Her friend helps chose her clothes and thrusts a copy of Cosmo in front of her to teach her how to flirt and attract a man.I got really annoyed at Maggie. Both women are school teachers but they sound like horny teenagers. I wanted to gag Maggie just to stop her childish giggling, it was nauseating. Some authors chose really odd or horrid names for characters and I have trouble picturing the supposed gods gift of a man in this book as being called Randy. Was this a terrible pun by the author?I'm sorry but although I read the book through to the end, it really was a struggle.

The first book I read by Liv Rancourt was Forever, and Ever, Amen, and I was happy when I happened upon Between the Sheets. Ms. Rancourt adds delightful humor, mild tension, and a vulnerable main character in her novella. Maggie's friend, Krista decides it's time for Maggie to get between the sheets with someone on their Annual Choir Directors retreat. You'll happen to read some pretty sizzling between the sheets scenes!(pun intended) The main character Maggie is very likable, and the problematic love interest, Randy is a hot musician, and you fall for him instantly. The feely mealy dork made me cringe which means the author did her job well. Since I never give spoilers, I highly recommend this torrid, easy read.

I loved this read. I was highly entertained. I admit, I am not usually a fan of novellas. They are just too short for me, however when an author such as Rancourt packs so much into so little, I am amazed. Truly a great little read. It didn't take me long to read, but at the end I felt like I had read a whole story. It was very well written and I loved the humor. Just a fun read with great characters. I loved Randy. He has a dark past and has a bit of a rep. He was a lot of fun to read about especially from the first person pov. I just enjoyed this read overall and highly recommend.

I echo what a previous reviewer said, "A week after finishing it, the characters keep popping into my head like old friends..." A fast and funny read with a heart-tugging romance between two unlikely characters will keep you reading into the night. Liv writes smart and sassy female characters and it all comes through in their dialog. By the time the book ends, you want these characters in your own circle of friends. Like Liv, I also live in the Seattle area and so Liv's island setting was familiar and perfectly described. Get this book! You'll have a good time reading this gem of a romance novel.
