Cute Pete book about rebuilding the school playground. After Pete takes everyone's ideas and tries to make them all happen, he realizes that the original design was the best of them all. Good book for preschool through 1st grade.

If your kid is a diehard Pete the Cat fan like mine is, he or she will probably like this book. If, like me, you miss Eric Litwin's singable writing, you should let your kid read this book on their own.

There was a little moral at the end of the story. I'm not a big fan of Pete the Cat. The story was a little weak.

I think the least plausible part of this fiction was when the playground was in shambles and the principal said he could have whatever he needed to build a new one. OUTLANDISH.

This book is just ok. Pete doesn't like his run-down playground at school and begins a construction project to upgrade it. Pete fans will like it ok. Recommended for Grades K-2.

This story is about Pete the Cat who wants to construct a brand new playground because his current school playground is old, rusty, and has really had it. Swings are broken, sand box is full of weds, and the slides are rusty. I love this story because Pete is never one to complain. When he sees a problem, what does he do? He fixes it! Pete makes a plan for a new playground then her ask the principal for permission to help build it. The next few days Pete hires a construction crew to help tear down the old one and build a new one. I Love the text expressions made as Pete breaks up the old playground. "Clank! Clink" down goes the slide. "Bang! BooM! Down with the rusty tower. "HONK!" "HONK!" goes the recycling truck that collects the rusty metal. The illustrations are colorful and playful. The illustrations strongly interrelate with the text so that everything Pete does or say, it is illustrated to show readers what is happening. During our Community Helper's theme, students were introduced to this book because it helps children familiarize the concept of construction workers and what their work consists of.

Munchkin enjoyed seeing them rip up the new playground to build new. Of course they run into problems but in the end Pete thinks outside the box and comes up with a great new set up.

After being so impressed by the reversal of traditional gender role stereotypes in Rock On, Mom and Dad, I am disappointed with this book, which does not seem to depict any females helping with the construction work.
