As the title says, ' A History of Cooking and Eating ' using National Trust properties for some of the illustrations.A hugh selection of drawings, paintings, etc., accompany a comprehensive text that includes menus and recipes for relevant dates.Something of a colossal piece of work and well worth the £30 list price, although I paid a fraction of that from a charity shop.A little grumble at Goodreads. Please make correct title entries. National Trust should appear as the 1st part of the title.The 2nd should be The Art.....Due to this incorrect entry the only way I could locate this book was by authors name.
A truly amazing resource of historic recipes, facts and illustrations. If only the National Trust still created such high quality publications.
