Solid review of French wine regions and their terroir with an emphasis on geology, laid out in a logical order (regions by decreasing age of bedrock). This one is tough to grasp without a basic knowledge of earth science, and even harder to grasp without a good sense of the regions in question. But if you know what you're getting into (and why else would you pick this up?), it's worth the read.
