I like short stories when I don't want anything too heavy or involved, but at the same time, there is always a rushed feel to short reads. This one was not bad, but I think I would have liked it better if it had been longer and this relationship would have developed differently. Overall for its length, not bad

Much like the first story in this series about Australian cowboys, the second instalment is short, sweet, and hot. Quinn’s younger brother Ryder is the focus, and his heart has been broken years ago. The man who is at fault is Lachlan, and happens to be Quinn’s best friend. Yes, you guessed right: more drama! And with old misunderstanding fueling feelings on both sides, this story gets very emotional.Ryder has been playing around for years, but he is getting fed up with it. He only started because the one man he has loved since he was fifteen rejected him, and still calls him kid, much to Ryder’s annoyance. He is fed up with being seen as “too young”, and the loneliness is getting to him. Who can blame him for trying again when he gets the chance? Only to be shot down a second time, and that is too much for anyone to deal with.Lachlan is a tough guy. Quiet, hardworking, and with absolutely no talent for putting his feelings into words. His failure to take Ryder seriously many years ago has cost him a lot, but because he can’t see the truth, he makes the same mistake again even after they finally made love. It takes Quinn to tell him what’s what before he figures out he may need to learn some basic communication skills if he ever wants to call the man, whom he has secretly loved for a long time, his own. If you like stories about tough cowboys who are better with actions than with words yet have to learn how to really talk to someone, if dealing with misunderstandings and learning to stop assuming things sounds interesting, and if you’re looking for a sweet read about emotionally intense guys who don’t know what to do with their feelings, then you might like this short story.NOTE: This book was provided by Evernight Publishing for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.

3.25 Ryder is thought of as being a playboy, skipping from man to man and never settling on anyone. Lachlan, Ryder’s brother Quinn’s best friend and coworker, the one man Ryder wants for real, is so judgemental about Ryder he deserves a slap. He was offered a gift by Ryder and he pushed him away. He is cruel at times, “I know your rep, kid. Go play elsewhere.” Oh man, I hated him right there. The funny thing is, he says things like that, “I know you like to spread the love…” or accusing Ryder of not pulling his weight around the place, but then is all offended when Ryder calls him out on it! Ryder has an awesome brother in Quinn, who despite what Ryder believes, does see him for who he really is: a hard-working, decent, good person. And not a slut! “I know you think I don’t see you, the real you, but I do.” I loved that. While I liked Ryder a lot, the story lost a little bit for me because I could not for the life of me figure out why he hung around for Lachlan. The man rejects him, disrespects him and treats him like shit, even after giving in to their attraction. Even then, it was Quinn talking to Lachlan that actually made him stop acting like such a jerk. By the time he pulled his head out of his ass, I wanted Ryder to go find someone else!

Taming His Cowboy by Jess Buffett is pulling double duty. It is second in the His Cowboy series and also part of Evernight Publishing’s Romance of the Go line. It does not need to be read in chronological order.I really enjoyed Ryder in this story. He is perceived as free and easy with his favors, at least by Lachlan, and that could be nothing close to the truth. He was young but true to the man who didn’t even know he held his heart. I thought Ms. Buffett did a wonderful job of showing Ryder’s frustration with Lachlan. She also added realism by showing both Lachlan and Ryder’s insecurities. This was a quick read but Ms. Buffett made sure that it was a complete story. It had moments of sweetness as well as heat between Lachlan and Ryder. This story was well written and I did not feel cheated by its short length. I thoroughly enjoyed this story by Ms. Buffett and look forward to reading more from this author. Four Twinkling Stars

I re-read Loving His Cowboy before reading this book to remind myself of the characters and that was a mistake. I went from a book that was well written to one that was not. I expected to be reading another cowboy story but then she goes and starts using the term mate, and not in the Aussie way, before Lachalan bites Ryder during sex. It was feeling like a shifter book with the strong attraction and all. And what was with Ryder now being bi? In the first book there is only mention of him chasing women.Without the inapproriate use of mate, biting, growling and uncontrolled want this would have been a good book.

Ryder Bridges handle the books and runs the Triple B cattle ranch with his brother. Lachlan Holter works at the Triple B with his best friend Quinn and Quinn's brother Ryder. Ryder has loved the same man since he was 15 but ever since he rejected him Ryder has his pain behind his outgoing flirtatious behavior. But when circumstance brings Ryder and Lachlan together again both men have become so good at hiding their fears that they are unable to see what everyone else has for year. Will Ryder and Lachlan finally admit what they feel for each other and take a chance on happiness before it's too late.

2.5.....I'm a little confused by this book... It's extremely short first of all and it starts off with an argument between lachlan and Ryder that ends with sex. But then L leaves for a number of months And they must communicate solely through skype. But then he's back and everything is great theThe End. But the most confusing part was from the very beginning L would refer to Ryder as his Mate but only in his head and never out loud. Then he marked Ryder... but that's it. So are they mates or not? Why bring it up of they aren't? Its odd. I do think this book would have been better If it was a little longer and therfore had more time to develop.

Hang on for an 8 secong wild ride of a read! This erotica starts bucking immediately out of the chute as two men finally succumb to their feelings for one another. After a wild night, mistaking their intentions take the two off to a rocky start. Can they hang on to each other long enough to build a foundation for a relationship? Can Lachlan finally see Ryder as the grown man he has become? Can Ryder learn to take what he wants? Their time together is explosive, the spaces filled with pent-up feelings . I can feel the intensity between them from start to finish.

I really liked the book. They grew up together but didn't really notice they had feelings for each other. I just wish it was longer, 2.99 for 33 pages just sucks

Same as book 1 - too many spelling errors, therefore only 2 stars

I loved Ryder, so sweet and full of love. I liked the story between him and Lachlan but again I would have lved to see more in the story, more details and more happening between them. Enjoyable.
