I was given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.I have to say going from Alora Kate's Four Season's series (which I adored) to to this new series, you can instantly see the difference. The writer has grown in her writing style and stretched into more than sweet and a little bumpy love. So first, congratulations on setting your sights on something new and totally mastering it. This book is not only a love story (with some smoking characters) but has a mystery that isn't as easily figured out as a lot of them, it really keeps you guessing for a good portion of the book. I loved this story and all the characters, I can't wait to read more of The Aster Lake Series.

Loved this book! Couldn't put it down!Forever My Home is the first book I've read by Alora Kate. When I was offered the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review, I downloaded the sample on Amazon first, to see if I thought I would like it. Well, that sample had me hooked! It's a book you don't want to put down. For me, this book is just the right mix of romance, suspense, and even a little comedy. The beginning starts off suspenseful, and I found myself very curious to find out why Adalyn was having to start her life over somewhere new. Things calm down for a little while as Adalyn settles herself into a small town with a lake, surrounded by mountains. However, the suspense picks back up later and then I was in for a bit of an emotional roller-coaster ride.Wow. What a cast of characters! I love them all and they are very well-written. Adalyn is one of the main characters and the story is centered around her and Rudd. Margie, Madi, and Bailey are probably my top three side characters. Also, I have to say that I love Madi so much! She is Adalyn's new friend and she is so funny. I was really excited to see that the next book in this series will be about her. Yay!The story is told from both Adalyn and Rudd's point of view, which worked really well for me. Plus, Adalyn's point of view was the only one in first person. It was a little different, but between that and the clearly marked transitions, it helped me keep it straight. There were some grammatical hiccups that disrupted my reading, but it wasn't excessive. All in all, this is a wonderful story. I look forward to the next book in The Aster Lake series!*Please note that I did receive a gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It didn't alter my opinion of the book in any way.

I did receive this book as a free ARC book in exchange for an honest review. The main character of the story, is Adalyn. Not a common name, different than other stories.Adalyn has lived with her parents in mainly a sheltered life, not experiencing much that life has to offer. Adalyn never thought much of it. Adalyn's parents one day come to tell her to leave, drop the car, get a new car down the road, find some place you like to live. Don't ever contact us again. How does one young lady do that? Adalyn's parent's gave her no other instructions other than to leave. She doesn't know what to do. The beginning starts off suspensfull, as we don't know why her parent's told her to leave. Adalyn winds up in a small town that has 999 people living there. Adalyn finds work at a small mom & pop hardward store, where she instantly connects with their daughter, Madi, who is loud & extermely outgoing. As Madi has lived in the small town her whole life she helps find Adalyn a small apartment connected to a town's police officer, Rudd Archer. Who is quite in his own right. Rudd has a vocabulary of few words. I wish he wasn't as rude / harsh with his language back to Adalyn and others. Adalyn & Rudd are instantly drawn to each other. Adayln begins to cook for an elderly widow neighbor, who at first is very harsh with her, but, then he loves her cooking and begins to pay for meals from her. Adayln doesn't want to take his money of course, but, they do work out a trade. The language at some parts I didn't enjoy, some F you's, and a few other words, I didn't think were necessary.

Forever My Home was an intense guessing game from the prolong on, that suckered me right in til the very last page. This amazing fantastically well written story was unputdownable!A beautiful story about a young well sheltered girl Adalyn having to leave the only life she's ever known for reasons she has no idea why or what she'll do, all she knows is what she's told and no matter how scared she is, she heads out to the unknown. As time and distant goes by, she stops and plants roots in a small town and although she doesn't trust easily and is unsure in the real world, she's staying strong and starts a new life. This is were the sexy cop Rudd comes in when she rents his apartment upstairs in his home. He's got a chip on his shoulders and is curious of the new girl in town with a blank background. I don't want to give any spoilers away, it's heartfelt, sweet, mysterious, with many twist and turns I did not see coming and at one point I wasn't sure what was going to happen. The plot was fantastic I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen. The sexual tension was delicious! It was this intense mixture of confusion, frustration, lust, attraction and desire. The build up was just perfect. The ending was heart racing and came full circle with a fantastic conclusion.

*ARC REVIEW FROM ABIBLIOPHOBIA ANONYMOUS BOOK REVIEWS BLOG*First off, I've been a avid fan of Alora Kate's book's. The previous book's have been novellas, now we finally get a full length book from Alora. From the very first page you will be pulled in. It starts with a serious mystery, and you're wondering what the hell is going on. Adalyn is basically thrown out of the only life she's known and told to run and don't look back... why?Following her parents request, Adalyn doesn't look back and doesn't stop until she reaches Aster Lake. Aster Lake is a small town, Adalyn is the 1,000 person to move there. Upon her entrance into this beautiful town, she will be befriended by Madi. This is so different for Adalyn, everything is. She's never been alone, ever. With her trying to find herself, she will spot the detective, Rudd Archer. A sexy man who has a chip on his shoulder, who is pulled to the dark side by Adalyn's cookies.... seriously really cookies. Lol. There is no pun there. "I know what I want Adalyn, and that’s you."-RuddI want to keep writing, but seriously don't want to give anything away. The ending is amazing, everything gets wrapped up and the mystery is revealed, with so much more. The book keeps you in, you have to know what's going on and why, and boy do we get it. I can't wait for Madi's book. She's such a free, funny, hyper character.

Ink Angels Book Blog received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.“Forever My Home” will hook, line, and catch you. This amazing book by Alora Kate will take you places you weren’t expecting. The book started off slow and tossed its readers into a discombobulated mess. But that’s just it… Once I realized how much of a mystery it began with I just couldn’t put the book down! The characters, the areas, the attitudes…. All of it was addicting! Normally I am not one to like these types of book however I am pretty positive I will own every book in this series! The story revolves around Adalyn and Rudd. Adalyn is a sweet girl that lived a sheltered life. Rudd is a rough and rugged sheriff that keeps to himself. Adalyn deals with her own demons and tries to hide secrets of who she really is, while Rudd faces his own demons every day and just pushes them aside blocking out all unnecessary things. Other characters in the book really make it pop! Madi is the loud mouthed BFF, Rocco is the smashingly sexy bartender, and Bailey is the sweetest thing since your grandmother’s sugar cookies. There are plenty more people where those come from. My suggestion is kick up your feet and get ready for the ride because once you start...you won’t want to stop!

Adalyn lived a sheltered life with her parents. Home schooled and kept close to her parents until the day her mother tells her she needs to go. To keep going until she is far away. With new eye and hair color a whole new identity, Adalyn ends up in the small town of Aster Lake. Finding out it is hard to fly under the radar in a small town, Adalyn settles in with her new friend Madi. A new job and soon her own apartment. Rudd Archer a police officer in Aster Lake tends to keep to himself. Yet something about his new tenant keeps drawing him back. He knows she is hiding something. You are drawn into the story from the first page. What big secret is Adalyn's parents hiding. For being so sheltered Adalyn finds herself trying to adapt to life on her own. Madi doesn't let her keep to herself. Rudd was different. He life changes when a secret from his past comes forward. One ne never knew. Then he finds himself unable to keep away from Adalyn. Plenty of suspense and romance. I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was given this as an ARC for an honest review. When I read the by line for this book I was highly interested. It was different and to be honest I couldn't put it down. You meet Adalyn with her parents telling her she has to leave. All they will tell her it's best for her safety and they give her a few words of wisdom. Next you see Adalyn and she's found a home in a new small town miles away from where she started. She's doing exactly like her parents told her to. She has no clue but she trust her parents so this is a mystery for her as well as for the reader. I really enjoyed the start of the book and toward the middle the mystery of her past got pushed in the background as Rudd and her relationship take off. He has a few changes in his life that take the spotlight and her past is only mention a few places. The ending was quick and wrapped everything up nicely however I just felt it was too quick. However, I would recommend this as an enjoyable read with a light hearted mystery. Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Amy Steele

Adalyn has led a sheltered life. Now she's on the run and doesn't even know what she's running from. She's on her own for the first time in her life and figuring out who she can trust is a challenge all it's own. When she finds a small town to hide out and start a new life in, she rents an apartment from perhaps the only man who can uncover her secrets.Rudd Archer knows something is up with the new girl that's moved into town, but he isn't sure it's good. When he starts to dig he might uncover more than he bargained for...and falling in love was certainly not part of the plan.If you've read anything by Alora Kate before, you'll know that this story is a departure from her debut series. Forever My Home is the first in the Aster Lake series and is a YA Romantic Suspense. The story line is unique and although it could use a slightly more honed editing run through, it's definitely a story I'd like to follow up on in the next book.

This book intrigued me from the blurb so I was looking forward to it. The initial premise of this book is very interesting and I couldn’t put it down.It then led into Adalyn meeting Madi and moving into a new town in the middle of the country, miles away from the home she has always known. She knows that there is history with her parents and that they are hiding something from her but she doesn’t know what it is.I did enjoy the start of this book but as it got into the middle and her meeting Rudd and bonding with him. It felt like the initial reason she moved to the town and her background was pushed to one side.I did love seeing her bond with Rudd and Bailey… but the resolution of what led her to the town in the first place came a bit too late for me.However I did enjoy this book and I will be reading the next one, whenever it releases.3 stars

I received an ARC for my honest review.I was intrigued by this book as soon as I read the prologue, I was trying to figure out just what Adalyn's parents had her running from, I just couldn't figure it out! Adalyn finds herself in Aster Lake a very tiny town, where she meets Madi who instantly becomes her friend. Adalyn rents an apartment from the handsome police officer Rudd Archer. Rudd is somewhat unsocial at first and Adalyn most definitely has a crush on him. There's some major surprises and twists and the entire story definitely kept me on my toes! Just the right amount of romance and a great amount of suspense the entire story! I'm hoping the next book in the story will follow Madi! Cannot wait for more!

What a wonderful novel! We are allowed to watch as true love develops. Adalyn has been sheltered by her loving parents her entire life. When she is abruptly and frantically pushed out into the world (for her “safety”) by her parents, she decides to settle faraway in a small town. Adalyn is successful in obtaining a job, a new place, and her first friend Madi (a wonderful character- I want to be her friend). Adalyn and Rudd-her hot landlord/town police find themselves attracted to each other but both are struggling with their own demons. Will Rudd be able to win Adalyn’s trust and heart? Will she be able to keep her secret in a small town? What will happen when her true identity is revealed? Action, mystery, and romance- this novel has it all!

this is definitely a can't put down book, full of great characters, plot is brilliant and really does keep you on the edge and being so well written. you get both points of view from Rudd and Adalyn so it gives you a great balance of understanding throughout, you have the action adventure along with the suspense of romance with the twists and the added humour of friend Madi. How the story starts gets your attention with Adalyn being separated from her parents from a sheltered world they have kept her and even though she has always felt that there were secrets she never questioned what they told her to do. Now she is out in the world she has never had to deal with and is totally alone, until she arrives at a small town and tries to build a new life.

I need to start out by saying wow! I loved this story. It is a romance story with mystery and some angst. I couldn't put the book down. I read it in one sitting. Alora did it again! Her characters seem so real and believable. This book jumps right into the story which I love. You meet the main character and her life is immediately changed and you feel horrible for her and you want to know why everything is happening. The twist and development of the story and their relationship is so believable and amazing. I would highly recommend this if you enjoy a realistic relationship with a happy ending. No cliffhangers!

I really enjoyed this story, once I started reading I couldn't put down. Adalyn has to leave everything she knows and go start a new life. She is unsure about why she has to go but trusts her parents completely and does what she's told. Moving to a small town she finds were she belongs, but most of all she finds love in Rudd. Their story is very touching and heartfelt.

This is my first Alora Kate novel. I was caught from, "Now this is going to be hard for you......but you have to leave." I loved the premise of having to start over, with no idea of why. That would take a lot of strength, which Adalyn definitely has. I'm definitely looking forward to more from Aster Lake and this author!

Forever My Home is about a sheltered girl who's parents tell her she needs to leave and start a new life. She also has to wear a blue contact to cover her one green eye. They don't tell her why just that everything they did was because they love her. This book did start out a little slow but once it picked up it was pretty good. Her friend Madi is pretty awesome and her landlord/soon to be love interest Rudd is great. I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for a love story with a bit of action thrown in.

Inhaltsangabe: Adalyn ist auf der Flucht.Vor wem? Sie weiß es nicht.Wovor?

Reviewed for SJ BOOK BLOGGenre: romance What's it about: the story follows Adalyn, a home schooled recluse who's spent her childhood being protected by her parent until one day they force her to flee with no explanation. She runs to whole new state completely alone with nothing but a suitcase of stuff to call her own, there she befriends Madi, meets the gorgeous Rudd Archer and begins her new lifeYou will love this story if: you like contempary romance My favourite thing about this book: the line "I woke up breathing" I love this quote and have used it a few times and every time I do I smileWhat I liked about this book: the whole story line was lovely with steamy scenes that were brilliant, the book is well written with likeable characters. What could be better: while reading I thought there was no major story mountain, no major hurdle for the main protagonist to overcome however I was wrong, however the main climactic scene was a little far fetched and left me a little confused, I'm hoping this is resolved in the next bookFinal thoughts: I can't wait to read the next story and continue Adalyns journey, the secondary characters story is also really interesting and I'm kinda hoping the next book focuses on Madi who is brilliant as a support character. I'm also hoping Anne makes another appearance, I would love more development on her character. Overall a brilliant read

What an amazing story! I received this arc in exchange for an honest review. Be prepared to go on an adventure. I started reading this and could not put it down.!Adalyn is 24 years old, lives with her parents and has never experienced life. Her parents have kept her secluded, even homeschooled.Suddenly her parents pack her a bag, give her money, a new identity and send her out the door. Only, there is no reason or information from them as to why. She drives west and ends up in the little town of Aster. She finds a job and quickly becomes friends with Madi. She rents an apartment from a detective in the local police department. Adalyn and the detective, Archer, have an incredible attraction to each other. Life happens and keeps making them spend time together. Adalyn's past, which she doesn't recollect, catches up and she is kidnapped. Her parents show up, as well as other departments in lae enforcement. The writing is unique and Alora Kate creates a masterpiece of scenery, love when it hits you in the head and how much love can accomplish. I look forward to the next books in this series

I enjoyed this book very much.... has a little bit of everything in it...Adalyn is sent off in a hurry by her parents with a new identity and no explanation why, so she travels for a while before she settles herself in a small town where no one knows her. She finds a quirky friend named Madi who, ends up becoming her best friend.... and she meets Rudd who is her landlord. Between Rudd, his daughter Bailey and Bailey's friend Danny, how could Adalyn not fall for them! As the past always does, its catches up with her in a powerful way. I am looking forward to the next installment of Aster Lake and see what it has to bring.... Maybe one day we will see Bailey and Danny grown up as well.

Loved it!Absolutely loved this book. Received this story from the author at a FB hop and this is a first for me from this author. Loved Rudds personality once he showed he wasn't such a hardass and loved Adalyns innocence yet bravery. One of my favorite things was their building of their family while it wasn't conventional, it was beautiful. Loved how there weren't any questions left between these two characters, all questions I would have had were answered. Starting the second book in the series now!!!!

If you are looking for a great romantic mystery with humor and suspense thrown in, then this book is for you. I found the main story of Adalyn and then the meeting and romance of Adalyn and Rudd to be thoroughly interesting; in fact I couldn't put the book down and thoroughly became immersed in the story it was so intriguing. The story is told using both points of view (Adalyn and Rudd). I fell in love with the well developed and interesting characters and am looking forward to reading more about them.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this book when I started reading it, but after I got into it I could not put it down. I encourage everyone to get this book.
