I do not usually post bad reviews. However, in the interest of saving your time or money I will say I could not even get through the first chapter of this book. The idea is one that is done again and again and again with good reason. It makes for a good story. Women is dissatisfied with her life and makes a drastic change by agreeing to wed someone whom she had only met through the mail. (This especially appeals to me since I pen pal.) What happens after that I could not say. The writing style itself threw me off. This has happened before but very rarely do I not finish a book I have started. I think if this were rewritten, or edited differently, maybe it would have been a much better book.

Falls short of dreadful, but not by much. The meat of the story has potential but delivery is just bad. Short, choppy sentences, back and forth between first and third person, missing punctuation were just a few things that drove down the star rating. The characters were one dimensional and the bedroom scene was almost laughable. The whole thing felt too much like a rough draft for a school project. To end on a positive note, these women would have had to have a great deal of courage to pick up and travel to the middle of nowhere and marry a stranger.

I did not care for this book. I know it is not easy to write a book, so I am hesitant to criticize, but I found myself wanting the money back that I paid for it. I think the writing is simplistic. The characters have no depth. The story was not only predictable, but the dialog seemed very unrealistic. I rolled my eyes several times while reading. I disliked it so much that I took the time to write this review.

A Very Good StoryWith a very good marriage the frontier is a world of new experiences for the woman involved. She has to make sure that all the people she trusts are going to be ready to make the plans she has, workable. Whether it's a school church or defending her home don't sell this woman short. A Very Good Book written by one of my favorite authorsLCR

Loved this book, but wish it left some of the sex details less explicit.I would have given it five stars if sex hadn't been so explicit. Couldn't put it down. The concept of mail order brides blows my mind.

Generally speaking, a well written, enjoyable book. I didn't feel a lot of attachment to the characters but the story was better than one might expect. This is an interesting genre for me and I look forward to reading more of this type.
