Hold Still The Sky: The Complete Story Reviews
This was a book that I chose to review because it was a little out of my element. I really liked Kara’s story and that she really wanted to have a baby. I was definitely intrigued by the idea that someone would have to live inside of a dome after there were eruptions all over the world. I do not know how I would have coped with these living situations. It would have been an interesting time to have lived and I would have been curious to see how people that I know in my everyday life would have survived and banded together through something like this. This book was more sci-fi than I normally read but I enjoyed it thoroughly and it opened my eyes to the possibilities that may lurk out there. It is hard to explain how this book is written unless you have it right in front of you, but I am going to try. There are six different parts and within the first three you get to meet the characters. They can be read alone or all together. The first story is about Kara and the second is written from the view of a robotic dog named Dido. This part was definitely different for me. The third part is audio and so forth. You learn more and more as the parts progress about the different characters. I would have liked to see a little more development of each of the characters. I would love to see where the author goes with this and if he may move on to full novels for each of the characters. I would read it because even though this is not my typical genre, I am very much curious.Disclosure: I received this novel in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.
If you enjoy classic science fiction, you will definitely want to read Hold Still The Sky. There is a lot of detail to the story so make sure you have some time set aside to really pay attention. Once you get into the story, you’ll be hooked.I received a copy of this book for my honest review.
