This is probably closer to a 3.5 for me but I still really liked it. This is mostly because the plotlines are starting to get a little redundant. The basic parts at lest. Find your abused mate, claim them, get them pregnant, somebody kidnaps them, they get rescued. The details separating the couples I like. They aren't all perfectly beautiful. There's not miraculous healing. If a limb is taken off then it stays off. In this one Scott is blinded by a brutal blow to the back of his head. He stays blind. The last book, Adrian gets his hand cut off. It doesn't regrow by shifting. The omega's do seem to cry and get a bit emotional, usually due to their pregnancy, but they aren't whiny. That's another plus, I hate whiny MC's. The alphas are dominant, especially when it comes to each other but show a remarkable restraint when it comes to handling omegas and those that are weaker than them.

blind people are not uselessAll in all this storyline wasn't that bad and there was drama with more information about werewolves as well as vampires. What aggravated the bejesus out of me was Scott being so helpless because of his blindness. Granted there are challenges and a blind wolf would not survive but there are many blind people who live productive lives. There are many things Scott could learn to do so he could be helpful to the pack. Instead the author chose to portray a blind man as a burden, unable to take care of himself. Shameful.

Being blind doesn't mean helpless :(

The best part ofThe Pregnant Mateseries since book 1 :)I liked how possessive and love-struckJesseis... ;)But he is also protective and understanding towardScottand his painful past and his late mate's memories haunting Scott at present.Scott is a blind werewolf but he's strong and witty and wants to be as useful to his new pack as he possibly can. I loved his good-natured banter and courage.I will definitely continue with this series... :)

Okay, anyone sensitive to character death should skip the first chapter entirely. I probably will if I ever re-read this. Made me cry. Damn it.In general, though, guess I was having trouble liking either protagonist. Especially Scott, who seems too aggressive and manipulative for my taste. I don’t know. The whole (view spoiler)[“I’ll ignore you for two weeks” (hide spoiler)] thing also annoyed me. This is precisely like in the previous book but for different reasons. The focus was a little too much on sex for my taste. It feels as though these guys are led around by their physical needs – as though they are mostly powerless to resist. So I suppose this book did not make me all that happy. Even though it was not awful either. Just… yeah.As a side note, it seems like a really bad idea to have a vampire named Frederik as the villain when in another series the author had a vampire hero named Frederik. Just pointing this out. That name in that spelling is just unusual enough to stick in a reader’s memory.

I was a little confused by this book and it's characters. I had actually been looking forward to it since book 1 when Scott was introduced. I really liked Jesse and Scott together but their story just had an odd kind of progression. I feel like Jesse turned into an unlikable person for awhile and it was completely unnecessary. And Scott's emotional dilemma seemed silly to be honest. His ex mate had been dead for 6 years! I understand that he died under traumatic circumstances which likely play a part in Scott's blindness but to claim he was still in love with a man that has been dead 6 years is extremely unbelievable for me. The book kind of went like this for me : Up up up up....DOWN DOWN DOWN DOWN....Semi up...up...level off.. end lmao

I promised myself I wasn't going to read this series, but these darn good titles and the tease for the next book at the end of each installment is proving to be my undoing. I liked this one especially because I wanted to know more about the Beta position (just shut up - I'm committed to this alternate universe now), and I liked what I knew of Jesse in the previous book(s). Here's the thing. I know these types of m/m romances may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I've really become quite entertained by this author's imagination and romance. The couples are sexy and the whole series is well-crafted.

The series seems to get better as it progresses... if only the edits did too. Grammar and typos abound through the first third of this one. I wanted to take out a red pin, but I was reading on my Kindle.

I really can't seem to get enough of these books. Scott was so sweet and everything he'd suffered and then come through with strength and dignity just made me like him even more. Jesse was a typical possessive mate but he was also gentle and understanding. They were really great together!
