Yes, I freely admit I was lured in by the cover and the blurb promising a contemporary femdom story. The story itself is fairly brisk, but my goodness I had a serious amount of eye rolling throughout. Whilst I've never been in the lifestyle and wouldn't claim to be an expert; I have the privilege of having friends with first-hand experience, and I imagine this book would need a serious health warning if they were to pick it up.The story appears less than realistic and is much more like a fantastical tale conjured rather naively. In my opinion there are also several gaping plot holes. The author would do well to decide whether she would like to write in past or present tense (or at least without switching mid sentence would be a start). I wonder if perhaps English is a second language?I personally wasn't able to find much chemistry between Adriana and her love interest Chris. I was neither thrilled nor awed as promised in the blurb. The psychology of relationship and the dynamics of power is what draws me to this kind of story; and I found the execution to be unsophisticated. On the other hand, it is a cheap and quick read and had sufficient to keep my interest despite its flaws. It reads to me like something you might find scribbled in the back of secondary school journal, vaguely titillating but without nuance or substance.'Everything was going well with my submissive and our life became a fun routine with the occasional naughtiness entwined with daily life and protocols.'I can't help thinking Slave Rescue does a disservice to those within a BDSM lifestyle. I would caution against taking this with anything more than a huge pinch of salt.

I didn't feel any connection between the Domme and her sub. And I didn't feel connected with the MCs or the story either. It seemed unrealistic and the writing style was quite amateurish. The book needs some proofreading and editing, too...I'm sorry but that's how I feel aboutSlave Rescue .
