Oh, um, wow. Completely NOT as advertised. First, read the description of the story on the back of the book (you know, the reason you bought the book in the first place), then read the book. And now compare the two -- they don't match, do they? That's a problem. If the publisher wanted to use a little truth in advertising and say that this was a stereotypical story of an overbearing Asian wife who browbeats her husband, please do. If you want to say that this is a family friendly book in which comedy relies on women drivers smashing into a fruit cart, be my guest. BUT don't fucking lie to me, asshole. I'm the graphic novel consumer you don't want to piss off if you want to sell books next month, next year...I cannot recommend this book to either traditional comic fans, fans of alternative graphic novels, or even to the young adult market. I don't know who the hell this was made for, but it wasn't made for me.

YESSS! Chinese American superhero time! This is a great beginning of a superhero series. It's rooted in "the American Dream," immigration, tradition & a bazillion other great things. I'm devouring this series

First timeI'm only giving this a 2 because I'm confused and don't know how I feel about it. This is my first time reading a comic so I don't know what to expect. I did like it. The mother was quite funny and I loved the way Hank thought about his father. I think I'll go back and give this a 3. I'm definitely going to read the next one.

Satisfying, but even more fun when you can relate to the feeling of "there's this ridiculous/cruddy/offensive/banal piece of media I am totally obsessed with, how can I take the established facts as a point of departure and retroactively alchemize it into the amazing story I always desperately wanted it to be?"

I read this for #NationalComicBooksDay but was limited to what I could checkout digitally. It has been many years since I have truly taken any time to read any comics. So this was shockingly short for me. I may go ahead and read the next few in the series but as it is, I am not a fan.

I really think I'm going to wait for the volume to come out because this was just too short for me. I like the concept but can't really give anymore critique than that; there's not much to go on.

Artwork was nice but the graphic novel was shorter than I thought. It didn't catch my attention enough to want to read the next volume.

Awesome. First time I ever heard of this character, but I really like Yang's interpretation of the character and the original comic reprint at the end, which places everything in context.

A great origin story, fun to read on a tablet. I like how the panels can get bigger and scroll like pages.
