The first was good, I enjoyed this one even more and I look forward to the next. The characters have grown nicely and I think they stand out from common archetypes in fantasy novels. Note, I am friends with the author so I may be biased, but I think these stand up well.

This book was the first time in years that I bought a book when it first came out. I really like the characters and setting, and they are very well described.I can relate to Dare's growing self-awareness. Although his attitude towards himself occasionally makes me cringe, it is entirely appropriate to his character. I liked the flitting from one horror to another in the climatic scene, but I think that the descriptive tool made it seem somehow how surreal, and as a result, perhaps it did not have as significant an impact as it could have. All in all, though, it is an excellent book, and one that I will read again.NB: Also see my review of Demons Run

This book was as good as the first one, if not better! If I could give it six stars I would...I really can't wait to know what happens next! If only the author had a blog or something to keep in touch with the readers...since I read Demon's run there hasn't been a week in which I haven't searched Amazon for this book...anyway,I love the characters, love the story, love the mystery and hope we will soon know more :)

A very good sequel to Demons Run, which takes the world created and runs much further with it. You're slowly learning more about the two main characters, but this also fleshes out the supporting cast in more detail.
