Read as part of a Book #1 - #5 bind-up.There are several grammar/word choice issues; the book would have benefited from editing. In particular, she doesn't know how to use the verb "to run" correctly in anything other than simple tenses and she doesn't appear to realize that "peak" doesn't mean "pique" or "peek".Again, we have the repeating story. This time, we have Harmony who was found injured and brought into the compound. After she's healed, she ends up mated and has to learn to trust this Alpha when the last Alpha she knew gave her to a mad man to be repeatedly raped and tortured (and she has the scars to prove it). The elders of the clan seem to feel: "Get over it!" They have little sympathy for her lack of trust. Even the consumption of her mating must be rushed because her animal causes her pain because it hasn't occurred. Also, her abuser is the identical twin of her mate. Lovely, yes? And the solution to his illness is to kill him. Shifter life is tough.Although these are shifter books, we rarely see any of the shifters change. They usually fight as humans. They live as humans. They live in isolated areas so that they can change, but we never encounter anyone as a tiger normally. It seems odd.The solution to being afraid in these books is always one or more of the following:* Stay in the compound* Stay with your guards* Trust your mate* Learn to fire a gun (learning almost instantly)There are guards, but no regular training is mentioned.Because of the mate bond which you discover when you touch skin-to-skin, there's not really any romance.

There...There are too many threats coming at the tiger clan. They are being pulled in too many directions, with not enough manpower. It seems they no sooner eliminate one problem, another pops up!The excitement continues...and so do I!

Last of them that I had. Will not be hunting down the rest of the series. The intrigue background story isn't bad but the surface love story for each book leaves something lacking for me. Dnf series.

This book was part of the eleven books in the From Darkness Comes Hope: A Sexual Assault Survivors Anthology. Being a survivor myself I wanted to be able to support the cause as well as read books by some amazing authors. This is book five in the Alaskan Tiger Series. Having not read the other four books, I was still able to understand the story and not feel as if the story line was too complex. I felt that the paranormal factor was second to the human factor. Mated? Of course that was a paranormal factor but the author made sure to make the book feel real. Well at least as real as you can get with a paranormal genre. It was more about the human factor of fear, abuse and desire for safety.

Harmony & Felix (&Henry)Book 1 - 2 starBook 2,3,4 - 3 starsBook 5 - 4 stars^^ getting better, some editing here and there would help. Some mistakes but I just read past them and went on.Poor Henry & Felix. Twin Brothers. And it seems the parents have abandoned Felix to deal with Henry, but would not allow for him to be put down earlier.... ya know before he went bat shit crazy.I understand some of Harmony's struggles with committing to the clan. yea yea I know it is the way of the tigers and blah blah. But I felt like she was pushed and bullied by everyone, even her mate. She accepted in the end, but really what other choice did she have? Ask her mate to leave with her? Or just have no one speak to her anymore?

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Marissa Dobson. This is book 5 of the Alaskan Tiger book series.Felix Grady is the head of the guards for Tabitha's team and when a tigress is found wounded he is surprised to find out his twin brother is involved. Harmony Kirk escaped the Ohio Tiger clan just barely and when she is found it was hard to trust anyone. Together Felix and Harmony find peace after tragic events happen.WOW this book is a great read because of a great story line and well written characters. This book is for any mature paranormal romance book lover and the books should be read in order.

The main character is a bit over rated with so many trust issues.
