Very average story, uninspiring & forgettable characters. There was nothing new or fresh about this book. It felt as if I had read something similar before.Almost gave up half way...I am having some bad luck lately with Mills & Boon. Please please let the next one be exciting!!!

The characters have no real depth or development.

2.5 starsLook, it wasn't half bad. To be honest I am a sucker for hero's celibacy. And I THINK hero stayed celibate (book was so damn boring to remember!), so I am adding it to that pile. BUT to be honest, he DID cheat on his fiancée. The fact that she was a bitch doesn't change the fact that it was cheating and abso-fucking-lutely NOT ok. I'd like to see him suffer, but to be honest, whatever!

Hmmm... I found the dialogue stiff, and sometimes awkward. It was annoying.DNFed at 32.1%

Rose had a one night stand with a guy she fell in love with at first sight, only to learn he was already engaged. By the time she found out she was pregnant, he was already married and she made the decision not to tell him. She learns, 4 years later, that his marriage is over and sticks to her decision. But it seems Dante is now determined to win her love, and when Rose finally caves and tells him he's a father, he has all the ammunition he needs to keep the woman he loves in his life. This is a case of my not connecting to the writer's style. It's a very on the surface, tell the story without depth sort of style. There wasn't anything wrong with the characters per se. In fact, I like heroes who know from the start that they love the woman they're chasing and the sort of desperation they feel to win them over. That's definitely the case with Dante, who while sympathetic is also as clueless as a rock. It seems to take him forever to figure out that Rose isn't upset that he left to be with his dying grandmother, but that she's upset that he was engaged when he slept with her. Duh. Nor does he realize that you don't win a woman's love by forcing her to pick up her life and move to a foreign country. Unfortunately, we don't get into the emotion of this with Rose, her frustration at being steamrolled into marriage or even in feeling Dante's guilt in his actions. It's glossed over. This story just didn't allow me to connect to the characters in any meaningful way. Also - just saying. (view spoiler)[ I know the author sort of used a trick by having Dante's first wife reveal her lies on the wedding night, thus allowing Dante to refuse her physically and remain faithful to Rose, who he supposedly loved and was willing to cancel his engagement for. However, if said woman hadn't turned out to be a liar, Dante would have had sex with his wife and gotten on well enough in his marriage despite "being in love" with Rose. So I totally see why she was pissed and Dante's little sob story does not negate what he did to her. He totally needed to suffer more for that.(hide spoiler)]

Could not finish. Storytelling was underwhelming.Likeable hero and heroine but not enough oomph to encourage me to finish reading.I've read better secret baby plots.

Heroine bego... Selama ini kabur giliran ketemu Hero ditanya rumahnya malah jawab jujur. Pengen ditemukan? Bye

Dante’s Unexpected Legacy by Catherine George has a good premise but I found it to be an okay read. First of all, it doesn’t fit in the Presents line and the key elements of what I expect from a Presents read are missing. Dante deceived Rose when they first met by not telling her he was engaged. He is too pushy and does not do anything worthwhile to redeem himself. He also fails to pick up the many hints which prove Bea is his daughter. I am personally not a fan of alpha cruel heroes and therefore Dante left me cold.Read More

Oh man... This book was a disaster. The writing was very mechanical and boring. The characters had no development whatsoever especially their "love story" if that's what their relationship is called. The characters were not at all memorable and oh lord was Rose annoying. She apologized for every little thing and I wasn't even sure what she did wrong sometimes.. And Dante was just so pushy, I didn't like him AT ALL! Also, when they fought they resolved their little argument in like the next sentence and I had no idea how they solved it. I honestly would not recommend this book to anyone, I only finished it because I had nothing else to read and I hate leaving books unfinished.

Boringgggg....zzzzz.Methinks that this might have been a story that the author plucked out of her past efforts. It has such passe feel about it. It's very dated, not at all a 2014 feel, but 1980/90s. It drags and drags, with too much dialogue. I reached pg. 80, but must confess, I did not finish it. It's a poor use of my time to continue reading. So many other books to read, so little time to do so.Take a pass on this.

I did not understand some of the point of the story as she waffle but then gave in. was hinted at about certain things later she informs Dante of but we were like half way thru DUH!! overall the language was decent but the jolting way it transitioned was hurting the story. it has potential and the author can write. but this story felt just agony.

"George’s romance is sweet, with smooth narrative and a dialogue that’s made exceptionally more authentic by Dante’s Italian phrases, explosive love scenes and a little girl who steals the show" (RT Book Reviews). 4 stars Miniseries: One Night With Consequences

Has the potential to be a good book but definitely needs a lot of work. Hated the pace and transition of the book. Found my self skipping several pages at a time because I couldn't make sense of the flow. Chapter 6 and I'm over it. On to the next one!

L'histoire est sans intérêt, une vraie perte de temps. Les personnages sont peu crédibles et n'ont aucune chimie entre eux, et l'intrigue est vide.Un livre vite lu et vite oublié

a good read - very well written, only let down by an ending I found rather limp.
