Marriage Wanted Reviews
Another good read by Debbie Macomber. I know I am a sap,but I love a happy ending!!
Much as I love manga, taking your average Harlequin romance and translating it to that medium doesn't seem to work the best. The story feels rushed, you lose any (if there ever was any) deep characterization at all so that everyone actually comes off MORE flat than they would in just print, as opposed to telling the story in print and pictures. It's an odd thing, feeling like we lose more in translating this to a different art form, as I would have expected the opposite, and might have, had the publisher spring for better artists and had spent more time on the adaptation of novel to comic book script.Overall, I enjoyed this story, it was sweet, but syrupy and more than a little flat. It's fine for something to kill time with while waiting in line, but it's not something to go and seek out. If you spot it at the library, grab it for reading in the bath perhaps.
This book was my second one by Ms. Macomber. I love her writing...it's very well organized and has a good level of detail. This story is about a young woman, independent and yet damaged because of an injury she suffered when very young. Because of the trauma of growing up with a disability, she allows herself to become defined by the injury and discovers through others that she's short changing herself and missing out on a lot of life in the process. Great read, with a very good lesson as well. We're all damaged in some way...nice to see the author bring this out through a simple romance. Loved it.
It is a fun quick read with a predictable story but it was fun nonetheless. I like the art especially how Dash is drawn. They all look very simple and not very sophisticated that it was a refreshing read. Savannah’s parents were charming how they are still together.
really enjoyed this book, it was a light read and a very romantic book.
