**3.5 stars** Here are a few questions to ask yourself:Do you like M/F, M/M, M/F/F, and M/M/F/F erotica?Do you like Dommes? Doms? Male and female subs?Do you like bisexuals? Pansexuals? Who-the-hell-cares-sexuals?Do you care that the plot is not really feasible... oh who are we kidding, completely ridiculous and just a forum to show pages and pages of hot sex?,Do you like virgins who are experts at oral sex, vaginal sex, anal sex, and BDSM?Do you like vaguely historical settings that seem to exist just so multi-layers of skirts can be lifted and ladies ravaged? If you have answered "yes" to any of the above, buy this book. I wouldn't have thought myself a fan of F/F anything but *DAMN* those scenes were smoking! This book was guilty pleasure erotica at its finest with something thrown in for every taste. If you are looking for plot, relationship development, or character development, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a whole pile of polyamorous goodies, you've struck gold. **Copy provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

Well, hello. What a hot little twisty historical romp. What happens when you bring four horny people (two women, two men) together in a mishmash of creative coupling? Lots of naughtiness, that’s what. These beautiful, open-minded kinksters have the money and connections to protect them from society’s censure. The author attempts some other plot building with a hint of political maneuverings (it’s set in Europe during the Napoleon era), but this is essentially all about erotic frolicking. The twist in this fantasy historical is that the women hold just as much sexual power as the men. All is fair in sex and power-play.Young Anna, fresh from the convent, wants something more from life than stultifying married subservience. “A lifetime of preparing to be subjected to men made it difficult… when he said I want you, she heard I want to own you…”Anna is in love with Pia, her convent-mate and BFF, and wants a life with her, too. We get a lot of secretive F/F convent action, explicit but standard. What is different is that Anna is a domme in the making; she grabs onto it two-fisted and practices on the very eager Pia.Through a series of fortunate events the women meet up with two very accommodating hunks, Sebastian and Farleigh, who also happen to have a hankering for each other. It’s a set-up for no-holds-barred sexual tension, plotting and hook ups with some BDSM spice. Anna can wield a whip with the best of them. I really enjoyed this. But I have to take some points off because the lure of M/M sex was strung out for so long my Kindle (Sweetiepie) was in danger of some serious hurling across the room. And then, when we finally get it, there are too many boobs in the picture. Don’t get me wrong, these four are hot together, but, as with the two women, I wanted the men to have their own sexytimes, too. This is a well done alphabet soup of F/F, M/F and M/F/M/F action with some M/M/F/F, and finally, a bit of M/M thrown in for good measure. If you’re a die-hard M/M reader this may not be your cuppa soup. I still found it lots of good salacious fun. Reviewed for Prism Book Alliance3.5-3.75 Stars-rounded up to 4 for GR purposesLadies and Gentlemen, this is what's known as a bodice ripper.Correction: a kinky, polyamorous bodice ripper. Scorching hot at that. The way in which Ms. Mulry weaves these four characters together seemed a natural progression. There is instalove between Sebastian and Anna, but I'm giving it latitude due to the historical setting. I know. It's a bogus rationalization. Let's just say I was persuaded to overlook it by all the petticoats, corsets, plackets and buckskins. I'm easy, what can I say? Don't hate. All the sexual repression of 19th century Europe gets blown to kingdom come in Bound to be a Groom. I thoroughly enjoyed the historical references interspersed here and there. Sebastian is a Conde, quite wealthy and his family is politically powerful, thus he is expected to relay certain information to potential allies (England) to thwart Napolean's advances upon the Iberian Peninsula. So, he and Anna's honeymoon isn't all love, champagne and roses, just 99% or so.Anna is a strong female character. I liked her a lot. She won't be cowed by anyone despite the day and age in which she's confined. She's determined to live her life with Pia as openly as possible. She won't settle for stolen moments in the convent. However, her grand plan didn't include Sebastian who is smitten straight away and, coincidentally, submissive which compliments her dominance. Sebastian will do anything he can to make his love happy. Pia will make her happy. Ain't instalove grand? Who doesn't like a kinky ménage? But, wait! We're not done yet. This is a square, not a triangle.Behind the mask, he was the lover who craved nothing more than to be completely subdued by a powerful, knowing partner. Or two. To be taken in hand and made to fulfill every outrageous need, to experience the freedom he only found in submission.Enter Farleigh, who had a short lived fling with Sebastian about two years prior. The fire is rekindled and Farleigh wants Sebastian with the force of twelve blinding suns. This was my favorite part. Anna and Farleigh are both dominants. Let the pissing contest begin! Anna ratchets up Farleigh's desire to DEFCON 5 levels by denying him what he most wants. He gets 16 different kinds of fussy-shouting and slamming things. Growling. It was awesome. Then… they go to the country and glory be... it was marvelous. Marvelous, I say. All of their brains are addled by the bucket loads of lust and UST, wildly turned on by one another in every way possible. A couple voyeurs, a couple dominants, a suede flogger, some restraints. Fabulous. Smutastic! Did I mention how hot they are together?"I'm not repulsed by a woman's body, if that's what you're asking. It's... how to say it? The society we live in expects women to be dirty whores or wifely virgins. Neither of which appeals to me in the least. With men, I can be an animal."For all intents and purposes, there was no plot to speak of, but the sexy times… HOOYAH! *fans self* I'm still not crazy about f/f but I wasn't put off by it. I would've liked more m/m solo sexy times. What can I say? I'm greedy like that. The prose and dialogue felt authentic to the historical setting; several vocabulary choices had me giggling. Really though, who doesn't giggle when they read the word 'reticule'? Say it out loud. I dare you not to giggle. The character development is non-existent. The relationship development consists of fabulously glorious, kinky sex in a library, a carriage, the country… sublime. This is an ARC so the formatting goes wonky when it's converted to a mobi file. I say all this because it seemed like the perspectives changed without adequate demarcation, but I can't be sure and I'm not counting it against the rating. Think of it more as a warning that it's entirely possible. If you need a bit of steamy, kinky, polyamorous, feel good fluff read, Bound to be a Groom has it in spades.I would like to thank Riptide for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Want riveting plotting, detailed character development and mastery of language and metaphor? Do not read this book.Want a book which is somewhat PWP, with smoking hawt sex, mild BDSM overtones and a surprising mix of m/f, f/f, m/f/f, m/m/f/f? Read this book.I cannot say much more than that. This appears to be an historical only because it allows people to be dressed in clothing that has to be managed or, in the case of the women, cast up above their heads in order to have sex. That said, it didn't commit many of the sins of language and anachronism that historical romances often do. I enjoyed it. So there you have it.

The first thing that struck me as I began to read Bound to Be a Groom was what a beautifully formatted book it is. I have hundreds of books on my e-reader, and most of them have some sort of formatting error. I've grown accustomed to overlooking them, putting them out of my mind. From cover to author bio, this is easily the most beautiful book I've downloaded. The story is set in Spain and England in the early years of the Napoleonic Wars - just before Wellington joins up with Spanish partisans to repel the tyrant, who is placing his brother on the Spanish throne. But the heart of the story is the relationships being forged between two convent-raised girls, a Spanish nobleman, and an English Duke.I had a hard time getting into the story, at first. In fact, it was not until almost a third of the way through the book that I really became invested in the characters. This might have been because the beginning of the story concentrates on Anna, who has a tendency to come off as rather cold. It's not until Sebastian begins to play a greater role that I really began to care about these characters. Sebastian truly is the beating heart of this novel. It is his warmth and willingness to give Anna everything she needs that makes possible everything that follows. It is the way Ms. Mulry handles the complexity of Sebastian's character that makes the rest of the book work so well. After Anna, Sebastian, and Pia travel to England, reuniting Sebastian with his former lover, Leigh, the story flows easily and naturally to its entirely satisfying finish. Where the first third of the book often seems forced, the last two thirds are deftly written, with a keen understanding of what makes a healthy D/s relationship - and a healthy polyamorous relationship - work. Where Anna is Dominant, Sebastian is submissive - but he is submissive only in the bedroom, in a way which allows him to maintain all of the power and arrogance of Spanish nobility the rest of the time. Pia is a softer sort of submissive personality, and Leigh is another Dominant. Two Dominants, two submissives, each unique and fully realized in a balanced relationship that demonstrates the author's skill at characterization. The sex is explicit, and though the Dominants are demanding, they are also very loving toward the submissives. Ms. Mulry has crafted a believable HEA among four very different people. Ultimately, it was a pleasure to read Bound to Be a Groom. If I had picked this book up and read the first chapter, however, I would not have bought it. And that would have been a shame. For all of my frustration with the beginning of this story, I am very glad that I had an opportunity to read it, and would recommend it to anyone interested in polyamory, bisexuality, or D/s play. I was provided with a copy by the publisher in return for an honest review.

If you want porn, porn is what you get.In every possible constellation two men and two women can manage.Consent is a big thing and the women have orgasms, both great things that are so, so rare in erotica, especially BDSM erotica. It's a stupid book without a plot so I really can't give more stars.

I wanted to like this novel. I wanted to be able to hold this novel up to people looking for female dominant romances and be like THIS, THIS IS THE ONE. There was aslo bisexual male submissive, which is GREAT. I wanted this novel to be so much, and it wasn't. ow. It wasn't a bad novel, and I think a lot of people are going to love it just as it is, I will suggest it to readers. It was very queer, it was poly, and it was kinky. It was a completely different entry into the historical romance genre. For me there plot, just excuses for more sex. There were virgins who knew how to have completely mindblowing and perfect sex, the first time. This last bit drove me crazy, everything felt too perfect! Now I don't mind a mary sue or a gary stu, I embrace them, but everyone was all shiny and great. At the end of the day, I wouldn't suggest it to people who have the same/similar taste I do, but I'd tout it to people who are looking for something that is steamy, over the top, and lightly purple prosed.

***3 1/2 stars*** My rating would have been higher if more of the book had included Farleigh. Before his arrival on the page I confess I did a lot of skimming. The last 30% was perfect...the anticipation of and finally the culmination of all 4 of them together in one fantastic MMFF scene.

I received Bound to be a Groom in exchange for a fair and honest review. I passed this book by a couple of times when I was scrolling for my next review book. Historical isn’t a genre that I normally lean toward, but for some reason, this one just made me want to take a chance on it. The description is intriguing, but it didn’t come close to how much fun this book turned out to be.I loved Anna and Pia from the beginning. I have to admit that part of the reason why I don’t normally pick up Historical Romance is because of the way women are treated. I think that’s why I loved them so much. Anna was definitely the most strong willed and confident of the two. She wasn’t the type to sit back and let circumstance dictate her life. From the time she let Pia know how she really felt about her and those feelings were reciprocated, she had a mission. The trust and devotion between these two characters was what pulled me in.From the description you can tell that this isn’t your average Historical Romance and to be honest, that kind of had me worried about it too. How exactly was this going to play out? What chain of events could possibly bring these four together in a way that even remotely made sense? As soon as Anna met Sebastian any qualms that I had left, totally disappeared and I found myself getting wrapped up in the emotions and personalities as I got to know the characters. Sebastian and Anna’s first meeting was both heated and comical. I loved Anna’s wit and Sebastian’s charm. They were the perfect match, whether Anna knew it or not. There were bumps along the way, which given the inevitable scenario was understandable. The love and trust that began to build between them was fun to watch and through it all, Anna’s spunk and unwillingness to allow things not to work out were at the center. By the time Farleigh was introduced I was totally in love with all of them. The supporting characters were another great addition to this story. (I loved Farleigh’s mother.)Basically Bound to be a Groom was a fun story that wouldn’t have worked nearly as well if it didn’t take place in an historical setting. I might just have to change my mind about Historical Romance and give a few more a try. The prequel novella to this book, Bound to be a Bride, would probably be an excellent place to start. Bound to be a Groom is set to release in April of 2014.

Got it as a great deal on ARe, and decided to try it out, had no idea what to expect. Historical romance (light on the historical) with quad-sex (FMMF and every combination in between), some BDSM, dominant heroine and submissive hero w/ FF and MM scenes. The Bottom LineIf you’re into erotic triad/quad romances…get it. Lordy.

As I said yesterday, "almost fanfic quality porn" is basically the best compliment you can give published erotica. The porn is good, there is consent (except once where it's questionable because nobody will tell a third character what is going on), women having orgasms and everyone having fun with each other in basically every constellation. That said, this is nothing but porn (if enjoyable), the excuse plot took over for about 15% at a very odd point, which frustrated me, so the balance was odd. I don't usually read erotica, so to give this above 2.5 stars doesn't really feel right, as, objectively, it's not as good as other things I read, even though it obviously doesn't have to be.

Book provided by the publisher.4.5 starsThis was a brilliantly written story, with a hot enjoyable plot. The characters were interesting and well developed. I connected with all of the characters and found myself hoping they got their happy endings. There was only one part I felt was missing and I can't say a lot without giving too much away but (view spoiler)[I would have liked to have seen some affection between Anna and Farleigh, it felt that their 4 was really a 3 with an addition (hide spoiler)] apart from that I loved it and I'm really looking forward to reading more from this author

Wow! I have read many 4 some stories in the past but none of them have been like this one. I loved how everyone is bisexual and honest about what they wanted from each other and in life. Megan did an amazing job of making everyone feel like a major part of the story, which many times author's are not able to do. This book gets a 4.5 stars from me!

DNF.It's queer, kinky, poly, historical erotica. I'm pretty much THE target audience for this book. And I gave up at 13% read.I am very pro-porn, but I kind of need some decent characterization to hang the porn on which this book did not have. Also, my porn standards are perhaps too refined, I found this rather purple prose-wise and actually gave up halfway through the first sex scene.

I came across this book as a recommendation on tumblr, about it being a historical romance that plays with not only different sexualities and bdsm, but also polyamory, and well, that certainly was up my alley so I had to get it and check it out.The summary's pretty straightforward, Anna hoping to learn to become a courtesan so she can earn enough money to eventually live the good life with her childhood friend and lover, Pia. She sets her eye on Sebastian to teach her the ways of sex. Of course, that's just the beginning...The cover is gorgeous and sexy. The clothes seem to work for the period and well, who could complain about those abs? I also enjoy the font to the title. I think it's interesting that a story mostly in Anna's point of view and it being her journey, that we don't see her or a mix of her and Sebastian (and Pia!), but I guess the publisher didn't want to be too obvious and make it seem like a run of the mill erotic romance.I'm normally not a huge fan of straight up romances, erotic or not, nor getting into the middle of series even though this is really a stand-alone (the other two books can be read on their own too, just set in the same world), and I wasn't honestly expecting much when I started to read, even knowing it would have elements that I normally don't see... Anywhere, really. But I somehow got into it, and then when the steamy parts started, and it started quickly, I got hooked. The plot is pretty much laid out in the summary, bare bones with very little character development or story development. Within a chapter, we get these two together, falling for each other (at least sexually), and planning a marriage while we get a bit of backstory on Anna and her relationship with Pia. It's pretty much point a to point b, and then a rushed point c subplot of introducing Sebastian's former male lover. There really was so much potential for this to being an engaging and angst filled and character building story with what we get in the summary, that could have easily made this story much longer and richer. The historical time period is just light set dressing, and near the end there's an idea of some actual intrigue that gets quickly talked about and executed. While the characters themselves aren't wooden or boring, as I did feel for Pia when she worried she lost Anna to a man for example, once again there could've been much more. Characters are presented and mostly told to us rather than shown, but they're all unique in their ways.Despite all that, it did excel in a lot of ways. We get Anna as a Domme, and Sebastian as an exquisite and eager sub. The BDSM used is a little varied, with some pain play and of course obedience, and orgasm control (both in the extreme of holding it and never-ending). For using wording of the time period and all, the scenes were definitely more erotic than some of the other books I've read and I very much enjoyed when the characters were having fun together. Another thing I liked was that it doesn't go straight to penetrative sex with Anna and Sebastian and them enjoying themselves other ways while we get some lovely flashbacks to Anna and Pia learning how to love each other's bodies in secret. The polyamory relationship is pretty organic for the three of them and it's sexy and sweet, and something I so rarely see that maybe I'm just a bit biased. I loved how Farleigh gets mixed in, and that was a mighty tease. I could have used more of him, and definitely more of him with Sebastian. There were some wonderful quotes that spoke to me, about how one feels when they're realizing they want more than a 'vanilla relationship' basically. That deep guilt because of society and that ache and worry that one will spend the rest of their lives either unhappy or alone. I really do feel like the author understands. It was refreshing to read the kind of relationship I'd want, one that's loving and sexy and open and honest with more than just one person. And to be able to read that in a story, was a powerful thrill and blessing. So, if you like a sexy and fun read with not the usual flavors of romance, this is a great read. A good introduction too, to this kind of world. And if you're the type that needs a break from one on one relationships, aching for something more, something different, then yes, I wholeheartedly recommend.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher for an honest review at Romancing Rakes for the Love of Romance.Although I’m a big fan of Megan Mulry’s contemporary romances, this is my first time reading one of her historical romances, but if BOUND TO BE A GROOM is any indication, I’ll be adding them all to my To Be Read list. This book featured something I haven’t seen too often in erotic romance, and especially in historical erotic romance: a true MMFF polyamorous relationship. And to her credit, Megan Mulry made it work for me in this unusual context, although I’ll include the disclaimer that what I know about the year 1808 in Spain and England would fit on a grain of rice.As our story begins, we meet Anna Redondo, the unacknowledged by-blow of her mother’s affair with a visiting English diplomat while still married to the Conde de Floridablanca. Anna has been locked away in a Spanish convent for most of her life, now newly released to attend her friend Isabella’s wedding. Then it’s off to a lifetime of servitude as a lady’s maid in the King of Spain’s court. Anna has other plans for her future, and they all involve Pia, her best friend in the convent and secret lover. Anna intends to become a noted courtesan to raise the money to keep herself and Pia together forever, but needs to learn the ways of men (and rid herself of her pesky virginity). So when a handsome man catches her eye in an all-too-knowing way, Anna presses her advantage, and changes her future forever.Sebastian de Montizon didn’t expect to find his future bride at the wedding of his friend Javier de la Mina, but when a sweet little convent girl turned out to be the Domme of his dreams, how could Sebastian possibly resist? He’ll do anything to keep her happy, including sending for Pia to be an essential member of their new household. But when the three meet up in England with Lord Farleigh, a mysterious duke from Sebastian’s past, can their unconventional relationship expand by one more without ruining what they already have together? The one word description that came to mind when I finished reading BOUND TO BE A GROOM was voluptuous. This book is all about sensual pleasure in a way not often found outside of erotica proper (as opposed to erotic romance, which this most definitely is). There isn’t too much worry about whether each additional member of this polyamorous relationship will be able to fit in properly, but there doesn’t really need to be, either. It helps that there are clearly two Dominants and two submissives in the mix, and that no lasting jealousy ever rears its head as they try out various pairings and positions. The only time I even briefly questioned its plausibility was when Farleigh’s mother was so understanding about his proclivities, but hey, she’s a mother who loves her son dearly, so why not? I’m not going to look too closely when the interactions between the two heroes and heroines are as interesting and well-written as these, with an elevated sexual excitement that (figuratively) steamed up my Kindle. Even the prerequisite baby epilogue (another detail that differentiates this from regular erotica) provided a lovely end to the story without losing its innate naughtiness to standard romance conventionality. I can only hope there will be more adventures to come in this unique series, as I’d love to read them all.Favorite Quote:“Anna...”“Yes, darling? You like that, don’t you?” She tapped the crop a few times against her palm, testing its resistance.“Yes,” he whispered.“What a fine instrument you are.” He wasn’t sure if she was talking to the crop or to him. Then she began.

If you're looking for intrigue and complicated plot, this is probably not the book for you, but for what this book does it does very well. What plot it does have mostly just a framework for sex, but the sex is well written and fairly hot. The book tells the story of a happy f/f/m/m relationship, and you get at least a little taste of every pairing that arrangement offers. All in all, I enjoyed this book quite a bit.

3.5 starsOh how I love a bit of debauchery in the morning! *swoons* Two Kitties. Two Cocks. And lots of bits and bobbles all over the place definitely made for a steam-filled hot and sexy historical. *nods* Bound to be a Groom easily satisfied the craving for something a little bit naughty and a little bit sweet at the same time. The quick of it is that Anna and her lover Pia have a plan. A plan to escape their current surroundings and live the rest of their lives together. Yet nothing goes as planned and their twosome becomes a foursome in a glorious coupling-- erm, quadrupling?--of submissives and dominants that leaves everyone more than satisfied in and out of the bedroom.I liked all of the characters--Pia (sub) and Anna (dom) who have been together for years--and--Sebastian (sub) and Farleigh (dom) who had a fling years earlier and never forgot one another. The sex scenes were very hot--and nicely varied with m/f, f/f, m/m, m/f/f, and m/m/f/f scenes--though there were a couple spots I could have totally used a set of barbies and GI Joes to figure out exactly what was happening. lol Things got a little, erm, crowded in a couple scenes but still overall hot and smexy lovin' happening. It was interesting having two dominant's in the grouping with one being female and male. I wasn't sure how that would work but it really did. The group definitely suited one another.Overall, I enjoyed this one. There's no deep intrinsic storyline just a coming together of people to form a union of sorts and it was nice to see. Its steamy and can be oh so naughty in parts and yet overall it had a sweetness to it seeing these four each get something they never thought possible--acceptance and a chance to be with the person they love no matter their particular proclivities. I liked seeing them come together and their surprise over discovering they might enjoy and love other coupling options as well. If you like spicy historicals with a Dominant/submissive tinge this one is a nice little steamy ride.*I do think the price listed is a bit high though and while enjoyable it's one I'd personally wishlist and wait for a sale.Reviewed for herding cats & burning soup.

Bound to be a Groom is about finding love, leaving love, rediscovering what love is, and being open to the love the universe presents to you.Anna and Pia are young, forbidden lovers at a convent in Spain when Anna decides she must take action if her and Pia are ever going to be able to truly be together. Anna decides she must leave to become a courtesan or perhaps a mistress. Anna promises Pia that once she has the means she will retrieve Pia and they will no longer have to hide to be together. When Anna meets Sebastian there is an instant attraction; they like each other and they are sexually drawn to one another. What surprises Anna even more than her attraction to Sebastian is his rapid marriage proposal and his understanding of Anna and Pia’s relationship. Sebastian forms a plan that will allow he, Anna, and Pia to live together and love together. The plan requires the assistance of Farleigh, a Duke and good friend of Sebastian’s. When they meet Farleigh it becomes evident to Anna and Pia that the two men are more than just friends. While Pia is delighted by this information, Anna is hurt and upset that Sebastian was not honest with her. The four of them are quickly able to move past feelings of jealousy, insecurity, and uncertainty to form a bond stronger than any of them ever expected. This story was delightful to read. These characters had to acclimate to their surroundings and the thoughts and beliefs of the society they live in. They also had to acclimate to their ever-changing beliefs and environment. All four characters went through changes in their beliefs regarding sex, marriage, commitment, and family. The author does a great job showing the reader that anything is possible with an open mind, and an open heart. The addition of Farleigh in to the relationship was pure pleasure. Watching his and Pia’s relationship form is a highlight of the story. The two are both sexual, honest, and intelligent- and they clash wonderfully with each other. The fact that Anna and Farleigh are both dominate and both want to be in control of Sebastian and Pia demonstrates the need for compromise and openness in the bedroom. This story was just fun and steamy and sweet.

Bound to be a Groom is completely different to anything I've read before, and it was different in a surprisingly good way. It stars two women and two men who all fall deeply in love. Add to that one of the heroines and one of the heroes are dominants, with the other pair being their submissives. All of this is enough to make this book stand out from the crowd, but when you add in the fact that it is set in the Regency era you have a fabulously unique book. The heat levels in this book are off the scale, you will need to fan yourself down. But there is much more to this book than kinky sex, there is real love and emotion between this foursome. In a time where being gay or bisexual is frowned on, this bunch of characters are brave enough to risk it all for the chance of love and the chance to truly be themselves.I really liked all of the characters in this book, but the star of the show for me has to be Sebastian. He is just so sweet and charming, he will truly do anything to please those he loves. Farleigh was swoon worthy too - he's dominant, sexy, protective, I loved him. The one character I did initially struggle to connect with was Anna. She came across as quite cold, but I soon realised that beneath the hard protective was a good woman who loved with all of her heart. The connections between these characters were strong, their relationship was unique and made for an intriguing read. This is the first book I've read by this author, but I've already downloaded more of her books from this series as I really enjoyed this one. Bound to be a Groom gets four out of five stars.I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

A very well written, enjoyable novel about four lovers and how they overcome society’s strict rules governing their sexual behavior. When I first received this book, I was hesitant to read it as it is not my usual type of read; however, after reading it, I am extremely glad I gave it a chance! The way Ms. Mulry writes this novel makes it truly outstanding. The love scenes between Anna and Pia are loving and tasteful and the way Anna is dominant yet loving makes her character seem caring. Pia’s love for Anna is all consuming and yet, when Sebastian enters the picture, Pia finds a way to make room in her heart for him as well. The feelings that Sebastian has for Anna will draw you in and make you simply love him! When Farleigh enters into the picture, it makes such a seamless transition from three partners to four partners that you almost forget it hasn’t been that way the whole novel! Having Anna and Farleigh as the dominants made for some ironic comedy as Anna maintains the upper hand even though Farleigh is an almighty duke, and she a mere convent-raised miss (up until her marriage of course). Be prepared for a love scene at the end of the novel that will have you fanning yourself it’s so steamy! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes D/S books with multiple partners between both male and female. This book isn’t only about fiery sex, it also has a touching love story that will leave you with a smile on your face.Rating: 4.5Heat Rating: Extremely ScorchingReviewed by: AprilPCourtesy of My Book Addiction and More

I've read Megan Mulry's contemporary romance series, Unruly Royals and loved it! And since I know I'll be in good hands, I decided to try BOUND TO BE A GROOM. And this is scorching hot! It's basically porn if you lived in the 1800's, it'll make every maiden blush with all the debauchery that went on in this stand-alone historical erotic novel set in Spain. Convent girls, rich nobles, lots of free time, consenting adults doing various versions of coupling it will challenge your imagination. The plot is shallow and the character development close to nil. I think what MMulry tried to do was give us a fantasy since people around this time are either sexually repressed or closet freaks and any sort of deviation from the norm is a bad thing. The theme is tolerance and acceptance regardless of your proclivities. That part I was able to appreciate and BOUND TO BE A GROOM gave me quite an entertaining fantasy. I'm not sure when BDSM was officially coined but in BOUND TO BE A GROOM, the characters are well acquainted with the practice albeit a little outmoded. On a side-note, MMulry didn't go hard core in terms of creating scenes instead she used power play to imply that some of the relationships between the characters are similar to a D/s. BOUND TO BE A GROOM isn't spectacular, the relationships are too fanciful to be realistic but it can be an entertaining read. MMulry is selling the idea of free love in a time where who you marry is determined by race, wealth, social standing and gender.
