Mayu-San, why must you confuse me so about the gender/sex of the characters in this manga? That being said, once you figure out who's male and who's female, this is a pretty fun manga to read. You will definitely be cheering for Mizuki x Akira. I promise that you will want that to happen!--------------- The story plays out that Akira is trying to become a female idol to get Mizuki's attention, because he is jealous that Mizuki is spending too much time with Kaoru and is ignoring him. But, as Kaoru says, she is only there till the concert at the school festival, and then she is leaving Blaue Rosen forever. I'm not sure if Kaoru keeps that promise, since she is still there at the end of this volume. This volume focuses mostly on Akira and the photographer, Luke, who keeps trying to seduce him. Luke acts like he doesn't care for Akira, at first, because he's a guy. But, it's pretty obvious that Luke is bisexual. There's also a wonderful crossover from another of Mayu-San's manga series, *Kaikan Phrase*, in this volume, since Akira takes Mizuki to an /\ucifer concert, since Mizuki is such a Sakuya fangirl. I loved that, since I am also a Sakuya fangirl myself. In the end, friendship and love wins the day, as Akira shows up a little too late to see BR's concert, but Mizuki sings her song of love for him, before he runs off to his idol conference. Unexpectedly, it finally completely dawns on Mizuki that she is about to lose Akira since she won't speak up, so she chases him to his idol conference, and admits her love there in front of 1000 Akira fans. It's a beautiful and touching scene, which I loved, and draws a perfect conclusion to this wonderful volume.I definitely want to read all the other volumes after having read this one.---------------- This volume was provided to me by VIZ Media via Edelweiss as an eARC, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own. I highly recommend all of Mayu Shinjo's manga series. She's one of my favorite mangakas, and I have enjoyed every manga of hers that I have ever read. The art is amazing, and the stories are touching and relate-able.

Oh man, scanlators, why'd you let me down? I wanted to post the pages of Mizuki getting her prince on this volume and call it a day. :( I can't believe the licensed translations are actually ahead of the fans on this one.Ugh seriously, I'm so bored of trying to come up with things to say about this series. Look guys, I basically read these when I'm short on time and looking for something I can finish in half an hour to stay on track for my book goal. They are not quality. They are a collection of cliches buoyed on twin currents of crack and heteronormativity. Just look at the pictures and succumb to thirty minutes of whacked out genderbending. Don't think. Just go with it. Shhh. 2.5 stars

I forgot that this actually was funny, and occasionally mildly cute, though I don't actually like AkiraxMizuki xD 'Pure Akira' and 'Cool Mizuki' are better than 'Dark Akira' and 'Girly Mizuki', which are exactly what they bring out in each other. I actually wish this was a little more genderbended, but, it's still ok. It's a fun, easy read if the concept sounds interesting to you.Rating PG13There are sexual references and a lot of homo jokes, if that bothers you.
