Loved this delighful story. Bought and read it on the same day! The hero and heroine are well drawn with believable conflict. I often find novellas can't produce that sigh of satisfaction at the end because of the page constraints to develop characters fully, but this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the growth of each main character. The setting in the pickle factory in Brooklyn, NY, was different, funny, and made me smile. All around, a winner!

For such a short book, it packed a big one!! Both the characters were so developed, and I love that we get to "see" into both of their heads. Both are so strong but yet so vulnerable. Very good read.

Really good.. About a woman who has nothing left but her will to end up doing something good in her life. She has help and she falls for the guy & later on she has a happy ending.. Def. a book you gotta read til the last page.

Good but it could have been great, but then again it was free....I see a lot of potential in this book, I just wished it was a little more fleshed out. The characters were great, they seemed "real" enough, but the dialogue at times was just too theatrical even for an "open-minded artist." And as an artist I have to say that if someone burned my art in a fit of rage I wouldn't have just run off into the sunset so calmly they would have been left bloody and maimed at the very least. That non-reaction is what left me not believing in "Raven" (also known as Rae Ann) as a character. It was like the destruction didn't matter to her at all, not even her internal monologue was outraged. And this same non-reaction is seen in Finn when his accountant/lover Alison steals $12,000 from him and that line of plot never gets resolved at all. It just kind of floats in the background and comes up as filler or as the reason why no one trusts Raven. Plus there are Finn's family members who start out as major players in the storyline but just fade out randomly just when you think that they would come in as support when Raven disappears and Finn seems lost. So there are my complaints about the story and it's 3 stars for me because other than that I enjoyed myself immensely and I will definitely be reading other books from this author. She seems to produce some fun and engaging reads as long as you can overlook some missed plot points throughout. As an added plus all of these books can be independently read from each other so no annoyingly priced serials. I'm sorry but pricing a short story of 15 - 60 pages at $0.99 or sometimes $2.99 is robbery. And that is why this rating is bumped from 3 stars to 4 stars.

Raven Porter has had a hard life and has seen it all, but she is determined to make it. Having to give into the opportunity to crash within a peaceful warehouse with an opportunity to express herself artistically she has to give in.Finn McKenna, owner of a Fermentation Factory has to escape his life. The only place he finds peace of mind is his factory. Escaping the real world he gives into his peaceful side and play’s his music. When they find they are not alone it becomes a dance of release, and then one night of desire. Will Finn be able to let her go knowing that he can help her? Will Raven be able to allow him in close enough to change her life.

This isn't my usual genre of books, but I was very impressed by the author's character development, and the pace of the book was perfect. In spite of my usual aversion to "romance" novels, I am thinking about reading another!

(3-3.25-ish stars)I liked the beginning of this story (it had potential). I liked the end of the story but the middle just fell apart IMO. Raven is an artist who moves to NYC. Without any notice or money she is desperate for a place to stay. Lucky enough to get a job her first day in the city, she meets Finn. Finn is a handsome, successful business man who she shares an instant attraction with. The biggest thing that I had a problem with was the fact that she picks up a set of his keys, never gives it back and he allows her to continue to squat at this factory without EVER addressing the key issue!! I am going to continue on to the next book because I am curious to see what the author can do with a full length novel.

A Beautiful Story I have now read 3 of these books in this series in less than 2 days. Totally out of order. Didn't matter, they are Awesome. This one, while supposedly a novella , although 150 pages or so, packed as much punch as the other 2 - Georgette then Safron's story. I am downloading Allana's story next. Some of the best writing ability I have read in this genre in a long time and I read a lot. Make sure you don't miss these! I am so glad I discovered this writer!

This book was recommended by a friend and I'm so glad she did. I enjoy this author's style of writing, her characters are well-developed and I felt a connection to both the main characters, especially Raven. I'm fascinated with the art world and I enjoyed the fact Raven is an artist, although it doesn't go into too much detail about her art, I enjoyed it nonetheless. I'm looking forward to more from this author.

This was a quick read but a good one. I liked it. I was drawn in by the story and the characters. I found I really cared about them and wanted to know how their story would end. This was a steamy, sweet, and emotional read. I picked it up free on amazon and I'm definitely going to read on in this series.

I really...I really...enjoyed this story. It stands alone! I'm going to look forward to more by this author. I'm also going to find out about fermented foods that aspect of the story was interesting enough to do more research on. Well especially since I can't research Finn. LOL

Not badThis book was pretty good. At first I was a bit worried that it was going to be a NA book with stupid unrealistic decisions and relationships. It turned out to be about a couple of people learning about themselves.Well written with no obvious spelling and grammar mistakes. A nice short read with decent chemistry between the H and h.

Good read Strong characters, easy to follow with enough surprises to keep your interest. Would recommend this my friends. Only thing I didn't like was a little on the short side. Still good reading,,with good interesting flow.

Very good story-line and I enjoyed the writing style of this author. I thought the characters were well developed and like the way that they were brought together. I enjoyed this so much that I downloaded the next book in this series and read the second immediately after finishing this book.
