Lark O'Neal is one of my absolute favorite authors, in all her fabulous versions of herself! And I always adore her books - for so much more than just being set locally in southern Colorado! I have been following the saga of Jess, Tyler and Kaleb since the beginning - loving the fact that the first book was set in Colorado Springs.(It's always fun when books take place in REAL places, near you!) In fact, I read the very first book while sitting near Tyler's house in Manitou Springs at one of my favorite coffee shops. But that's neither here, nor there. The fact is? I've been madly in love with Tyler from page one. And I've been standing in the corner cheering for Tyler and Jess the whole time. (And because of Kaleb's sheer stupidity, I was tearing my hair out more than once!) I love this book for many reasons. (Almost as many as I hate it for! But hey, it brings emotions. Lots of them.) I hate love-triangles. And this one is no different from all of them in that aspect. But most of the time? I can at least find redeeming qualities in both parties. This time? I hate Kaleb. I've hated him from the moment he stepped on the page. I can't tell you why, it's just always been something about him that I can't put my finger on, but it was so blatently obvious in this book. Kaleb is a jerk. He wants his cake and to eat it too. And while I believe he does honestly care for Jess? He isn't the guy for her. (You hear that Lark/Barbara??? KALEB IS NOT THE GUY FOR JESS!!!) And near the Cliffhanger? He definitely proves that! And Tyler? He's just as fantastic as ever in this book! (Although I do wish he'd fight a little harder. But, he makes stupid slip-ups. That's just who Tyler is.) See? This story has so many emotions for me! And the cliffhanger?!?! GAH!!! I can't believe I have to wait THREE MONTHS before I can find out how this one ends! If you're a fan of New Adult? I think you'll love the Going the Distance series by Lark O'Neal! (But you definitely NEED to start with book #1 and read these all the way through!)

First, no matter what, readers need to know there's another book coming. This is not the end. It's a pet peeve of mine to expect a story to conclude only to have another wrench tossed into the mix. I'm not against series, just tell me from the beginning how many books there are or will be and I'm happy!Okay, rant over! This book was pretty great. Lots of tension and indecision, and a big fat cliffhanger at the end. Come on, April!!!

Pretty good, but...I wasn't as drawn in as with the first books. I'm not sure I like Mercedes, but she intrigues me. Not sure how I feel about Kaleb right now, either. Even though I didn't love it as much as the rest of the series, I'm still fully invested and can't wait to find out what happens!

Honestly I hated this book. I only kept reading because I finish every book I start. And then at the very end there's a glimmer of hope and I know I'm suckered in to buying the last book to read next April (or sooner?)Well played Lark O'Neal, well played. Your are a wonderful author!!I'm done with my childish rant now since its New Years Eve and 2015 is only 4 minutes away..

To be honest, I don't really like any of them. Jess is annoyingly confused. Kaleb is like a spoilt child - especially at the end!! Mercedes is obviously out for herself and I think we can all guess what's going to happen there. Tyler seems the only like able one but I'm still trying to picture accurately a snowboarder who is also an artist.

This series continues to be one that I am adoring. I am so impatient for it to be over so I know how it's all going to end, but at the same time I don't want it to end as I love Jess, Tyler and Kaleb. I admit to feeling a little frustration with the situation Jess is in but then I have to remind myself of her youth and remember that she's acting exactly as her age would have her act. But I have maybe yelled at the book, Come on, figure it out already! Anyway, as always I love this authors writing. Her gift of putting the reader in the book, breathing life into the places and people who inhabit her books is so amazing to me. I always turn the last page knowing I will remember vividly so many scenes for a very long time. I loved this book and highly recommend it and the whole series.

This has been my least favorite book of the series. I found myself becoming irritated with the characters. Jess can’t make up her mind whether she wants Tyler or Kaleb. Kaleb is having tantrums about the fact that Jess can’t make up her mind and Tyler seems to be the victim in all of it. Then there is Mercedes. She is broken and I feel bad for her but, at the same time, she makes me very uneasy. I’m hoping that this book is a vehicle to move the story along and not an indication of the way they all continue to behave. I’m reminding myself that they are young and being stupid is part of growing up.Having said all that, there is more marvelous storytelling here. The situations are fascinating, the scenery is beautiful and even though I’m annoyed by the main characters just now I can’t wait to read the next book so I can find out what happens.

This is the 3rd book in the Going the Distance series and focuses on the love triangle between Jess and her 2 guys, Tyler & Kaleb. In this story, Jess's acting career is taking off when she & Kaleb are chosen to star in the latest young adult movie. Filming is being done in Colorado - not too far from Tyler's Olympic trials. The author introduces some parts where the story is told from the boys' point of view. Personally, I'm getting annoyed with all of the characters, but am still somewhat curious how it will all end. Thanks to the Inner Circle for the copy of this book.

This book was amazing but once again, the ending left me feeling like in the last installment shit is going to hit the fan. Obviously Mercedes planned to seduce bozo and bozo fell for it. Wow, I wish she'd just pick Tyler, he loves her, nearly killed for her. It's just all so crazy, can't wait for the next!

This was a well-written, fast read. Jess has spent a few months getting to know her father, and trying to figure out which of two men she wants to be with - Tyler or Kaleb. She loves each of them for different reasons. This book is part of a series and I am looking forward to reading the final installment! I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Best one yet! I love, love, love living vicariously through Jess, and now I kind of want to go be an actress, LOL. I also adore how beautifully this series is written. I often stop to admire the way certain passages are written. I'm now a fan of Lark O'Neal for life!

Great read, non-stop emotional roller coaster. The writing lets you feel, touch all the things that are happening. The characters are definitely growing up, but still have a lot of absolutes they think are important but as you grow up you know in the scheme of things there not.

Can someone tell me what happens in this book? I stopped caring about Jess but I want to know what happens anyway
