4.5 stars! One of the most endearing books I've ever come across. Simply adorable. Granted it's a little far fetched given the times we live in but it is still a feel-good book worthy of many sighs. It's fiction for a reason, just saying.

(1 of 2 novellas in "A Real Prince" by Debbie Macomber)Holy shit this was bad! Where to begin with it's problems?!?!I was on a business trip and since I'd read the two paperbacks I brought with me, I went to CVS and purchased two mass media paperbacks, including this compilation. WHY ARE COMPILATIONS SO BAD?!? Fool me once… “All For You,” fool me twice “A Real Prince”… This was a schizophrenic mix of historic and contemporary romance, the former completely eclipsing any hope of enjoyability of the latter.First, let’s do the plot then assess the failures.Hope Jordan owns a coffee shop in Seattle. (Note, anytime I read a contemporary romance set in Seattle, by default I assume it’s an AU Twilight Fan Fic.) A Romance Novel Convention is coming to town featuring a raffle with a contemporary prince of some European micronation, Hope’s mother purchases raffle tickets in hopes her daughter will win. And she does…Prince Stefano has entered the auction to meet Priscilla Rutherford, the heiress of a Seattle-based shipping company (she’s a sponsor the Romance Novel Convention.) But upon flying to Seattle with his best friend and secretary - Pietro - and meeting both Priscilla and Hope, Stefano instantly falls in love with Hope and Pietro with Priscilla. However, each hides their love-at-first-sight from each other, resulting in strife and misunderstanding between the two. Finally, they each discern what’s going on, and Stefano urges Pietro to pursue Priscilla, so Pietro proposes marriage and he and Priscilla HEA, returning home to San Lorenzo from their honeymoon with Hope in tow as a surprise for Stefano, resulting in Stefano and Hope's HEA. Oh - and the Kingdom get an HEA too because the US State Dept calls and wants to build an airport, offering the required funds...Failures:This book is set in modern day. Financial challenges FOR AN ENTIRE NATION cannot be fixed by marriage BECAUSE AMERICAN WOMEN DONT COME WITH DOWRIES. Jesus christ.Would royalty actually be willing to auction off a date? To benefit a local library halfway around the world?!?And even if the answer to the above was yes, would a royal actually attend the auction? And seriously? This is set in Seattle, and McCormick’s was the perfect place for dinner with a Prince?!?And really? Everyone in this damn story just INSTANTLY falls in love? And it’s mutual? Super contrived feeling. Inauthentic.Upsides:At least I was sitting in First Class. And had limitless red wine...

I have read several books by author Debbie Macomber, she never fails to tell a good story. While the plot/storyline is cliched in this book, I still found myself wanting to find out what happened with Stefano and Hope. I liked the ending, even if it was cliched :)

This is the first book I read from this author. I actually listened to this one so I'm not sure if my experience would have been different if I had read it versus listening. Anyways, this is a story of a prince who was destined to marry for money. He felt that he had no other options to keep his country going unless he marries an heiress. So he goes to Seattle, USA to meet with an heiress. He also gets sucked into doing a "Win a date with the prince" contest. It seemed that there were a lot of women that were willing to pay to get that chance since this prince was one of the most eligible prince in the world. So he wins a date with Hope which was only in the running because her mom bought her the ticket. So they go on a date and immediate attraction ensues. Meanwhile the heiress falls for the prince's secretary. The whole thing was so predictable. I already knew that at the end of it, the prince will end up with his true love and so does his friend and the heiress. Over all I thought that the characters and the plot were predictable. There were some cute scenes, especially with the prince wearing costumes to be "in disguised" but the costumer were so outrageous he stood out more.I am not so sure that I would read another one from this author. I was not very sold with her story telling.

Prince Stefano - prince of a small European question, and the drought has put them out of business - so decides (with the help of his assistant and best friend) to find a rich bride...Hope Jordan is a bakery store owner... and...Stefano agrees to go to the US and participate in a bachelor auction... .... but...and Hopes mother (an avid romance reader) puts Hope's name in the hat... and she of course wins...and in the meantime, the assistant has met the rich, shy woman - and he likes her.. and ultimately both claim the woman they love...

This is the way a romance should be written. Great uplifting characters that you love but that make you want to throw the book across the room because of their actions. Clean language and no sex. Authors need to take lessons from Debbie Macomber on how to write romances!

I’ve heard of people genuinely falling in love in hours, but it is rare and I just didn’t believe it in this book. However, I was able to suspend reality and enjoy it as a fairy tale. I loved the characters and it was fun to listen to.

Meh. Fluff, short, predictable. I love Debbie's books, but this one just didn't have enough substance. Nor did it take me on an adventure where I couldn't see miles ahead. Will just have to try some of her others.

It wasn't awful. But it wasn't great. I got it solely because Tavia Gilbert did the narration--and she's fantastic. But the story was meh. At best.

4 SUPER CUTE MY PRINCE STARSI’m on this prince binge, throw anything my way with a prince on it, in it and I’m all over it. I haven’t read a Debbie Macomber book in some time and I did the audio version. I REALLY liked the audio version. One of the things I love about established (and don’t get me wrong, I still love my indie authors) published authors is that they get good narrators. The female narrator does a top notch performance and I love her European accent and ALL of her voice transitions. This is a short, sweet and over-the-top romantic book. I was gushing from ear to ear and it put me in the PERFECT happy mood.If you are feeling down in the dumps or want a rom-com, this one is for you. It has everything you are looking for in a light and fun read.Prince Stefano needs a wife, he needs a rich wife to save his country, but he also wants to look good in front of his people so his people throw a raffle. You could win a date with a prince and that’s cute right? Hope wins the date and of course it seems like they are a match made in heaven, except Prince Stefano needs to marry someone with a lot of financial income. I love the forbidden romance and I love that Stefano is a prince. It was hard to see him develop feelings for Hope, but not really take it any further, the tension was crazy and I was screaming at him to just marry her! The side characters are cute too, with Stefano’s right hand man and Priscilla, the girl Stefano is suppose to woo and marry. But don’t fret it’s not a love triangle. The book is actually about two couples.Overall, The Bachelor Prince is a really adorable, light and keep me in a good mood read. The audio was fantastic. I recommend for you Prince lovers like me! Yes, this was a modern day fairy tale. Yes, the eventual outcome was predictable. Yes, it was a unbelievable. However, it was a lot of fun. Any romantic at heart would love this story of a prince needing to find a wealthy bride to save his country from financial ruin who comes to America to do just that. He and his male secretary have arranged for a date with him to be auctioned off at a romantic author convention as a ruse for him to meet Priscilla Rutherford, an American heiress. He does meet Priscilla and quickly begins the courtship to make her his bride. However, the winner of the date is Hope Jordan, the owner of a humble coffeeshop. Will Hope suddenly interrupt his well-laid plans? It is classic Debbie Macomber with fun & interesting characters, an engaging storyline and great endings. No profanity, no overt sex, nothing objectionable. Just a fun romantic love story.

The Bachelor Prince by Debbie Macomber (Audio Edition)Narrated by Tavia Gilbert3 Stars - This was a simple, sweet, and predictable romance. Pretty much what I guessed it would be. I hadn't read this author before so I wondered what she was like, as my library has a ton of her books. For me, I would've liked a bit more passion, and by that I don't mean sex (which there was none btw.) I was just hoping for that chemistry between the characters that gives me all the fluttery feelings, which sadly didn't happen for me here. You kinda get a 2 for 1 romance here, I actually found the secondary characters had more of a spark between them, than the leads. All round it was a nice story and the narrator did a really good job I thought.~Paragraphs and Petticoats~ Original review posted at: http://paragraphsandpetticoats.blogsp...

A Royal GroomPrince Stefano Giorgio Paolo is the kind of man most women only dream of marrying. And now the very handsome—and very eligible—bachelor has arrived in America to search for a bride.A Bride Not-To-BeHope Jordan's prince has finally come—but there's no happy ending in sight. Her royal suitor needs a wealthy wife to save his country from ruin. And Hope has nothing to offer Stefano—except her love.A Dutiful Marriage?Hope Jordan is the first woman to capture Stefano's heart—but can he give up his kingdom for love? For Hope? This book had such fantastic ratings that I thought I would give it a chance. I was definitely in the mood for some mindless romance. I really enjoyed the characters although of Joy and Stefano but found the plot very predictable.

I’m rather tired of the Prince plot, from all authors, not just this one. Some aspects of this story were kind of irritating. Why on earth would he plan to marry one girl but go on a date and then continue to date someone else, while his assistant dated his future wife? The narrator of this audio book, Tavia Gilbert, exhales a gasp-sounding breathy sigh at the end of each sentence. This becomes grating rather quickly so that when you take that last cd out of the player you are happy not to have to hear that over and over and over and over again anymore.

Fun read, but highly unlikely. I had a hard time reasoning why Hope would be upset that the man who she won a date with would be upset at how he doesn't want to marry her. Come on, you go on one paid date with this guy and even though he seems interested in you, you're upset when he tells you he's going to marry someone else? Seems lame to me. Regardless, I enjoyed this fun fictional story.

Sweetly Romantic. Everyone is giving up something precious because of someone else. Add in a shy heiress that finds her gumption and 4 fairy godmothhers who aren't fairies and only one of them is a mother, gives this story a lot of twists and turns and problems. But of course love conquers all.....with with little help from Uncle Sam.

I couldn't read past the first few chapters. It starts out okay, and the characters have potential. The main characters meet when she wins a date with him at a charity auction. He is the prince of a country looking for a rich bride and doesn't want to do the auction in the first place. Also she has a meddling mother and her meddling mother's friends. It's all a bit much.

If you have nothing else to read, then this book will at least give you something to read. Its basically just a stupid, silly book. After reading the first couple of chapters, you automatically know how the book is going to end.
